A new Chinese Eight-cylinder Tourer takes aim at Honda Gold Wing. It's bigger but is it better? Zack and Spurg discuss during the Not the News segment of Highside/Lowside.
It'll ok for the first thousand or so miles then the tofu dreg construction will kick in and bits will drop off, then the chinesium will suffer "metal" fatigue, then you'll find that customer support has dissapeared like a fart in the wind and you're left with a junk pile.
I expected it to be bigger displacement with it having 8 cylinders haha. Also china can’t come up with original idea anymore… looks just like a gold wing IMO
@@Hunter-nb5bj An X engine would have been neat, giving it a shorter wheel base and still keeping weight down low, which giving something very interesting for new buyers to look at. That said, when it comes to touring bikes, where you might be hundreds of miles or several states away from home, it's best to spend the money on a dependable steed.
I would not either, but you can't forget that everyone said the same thing about Japanese vehicles in the early 70s. BYD is already starting to eat the lunch of existing manufacturers in many global markets.
You’re right in a sense. We already have a ton of Chinese stuff in our markets and parts contracted for. It’s widely known China steals intellectual property. They also make inferior products. Many electric cars coming out of China burn to the ground while operating. For these reasons, I would not buy a Chinese vehicle. Sorry but the argument you posed would not convince me
You already do.. Any car/truck/suv made after 2018 has all Chinese electronics in it...does your car run? All EV vehicles have batteries made in China...do they run?
@@1000yeardragon😂😂 really Despite a tough economic environment, the strong liquidity condition of the Pierer Group has assisted KTM in staying firm and maintaining its position in the market. @stephenbarabas6286 building a bike in China and designing one in China are two completely different things, and if you don't understand that concept well I don't know what to tell you, nice try though
🤔😅🤣🤪 I doubt that Honda is quaking in their boots. Nor Harley or BMW. Customers for this type bike are NOT sensitive to price. They ARE sensitive to image, however, which is a wide moat around the aformentioned brands. I'm not prejudice against Chinese parts. Indeed , my BMW F900XR has an engine assembled in China😱. But I doubt few Beemer owners know that.🤪
If any brand / make settle in a particular country, it usually has to do with the cost of either logistics or production. However, it doesn’t turn them into Chinese brands. The point is that the quality control will still be performed by the brand / make. In other words, regardless of where the make factory sits, even if the parts, or the whole vehicle, comes from the same plant, they will still have different materials, assembling method, and quality control. Let’s not fall for the bs some people say like “the same factory that produce Huawei, also produces Samsung or iPhone”, the are not the same product. Same applies for engines, electronic parts, or anything else.

Pass as much as the days of riding a Honda Goldwing are well and truly over it’ll be a cold day in hell before I’ll ever consider riding a bike that big and heavy let alone something from a Chinese company. Saying that if I very was to buy a big touring bike a trike Goldwing wouldn’t be off the cards but after a lot of research. Being over 60 with health problems and after losing over 50kg I no longer have the strength or need to have a big bike and I really don’t think Aussie roads are the place to need a big tourer anyway.
If only triumph would put the rocket engine in a touring bike
@@bigblue729 Yes I would buy it, I love my Rocket 3. The Rocket is not great for super long rides due to lack of wind protection though 🤷♂️
@@Hunter-nb5bjI get wind protection is fun but what about fuel mileage? How big of a tank would a touring model need compared to the standard model?
This looks awesome!
How many Chinese does it take to get it of the stand?
Isnt u guys have a chopper brand with 2000cc engine? I forgot the name of the brand

Absolutely!

If people can delude themselves into buying CFMoto. I can see people buying this junk
If you're 7 feet tall n weigh 500 lbs this is a perfect bike for you. Should have been a 3500 CC
if you believe great wall motors is worth that much, just wow!
If you can't lanesplit it's not a motorcycle
