My 2015 F6B has completely changed how I ride. Longer distances, and so much comfort and smooth performance. And I have more HP and torque than 98% of the Harley's out there.
I just rode my 500 lb Honda CTX on a 11 day trip. It also has a 6 speed DCT and ABS. I wish there was some Honda in-between mine and the mighty Gold Wing. Remember the Silver Wing?
I had a DCT CTX700N, great bike but I upgraded to a Rebel 1100 for the cruise control, traction control, and way more power. A windshield and some ergonomic mods made it an even better bike than the CTX and used they sometimes go for as little as $6,000 US now.
My neighbor had a Silverwing. Engine sounded like a bag of hammers, but it was a really nice bike. I agree a 2/3 size Goldwing option would be great. A modernized NT700 might be pretty sweet.
Not even sure why this is a thing. I paid almost 30k for my bike , I'm not going to cheap out and put a tire on that wasn't meant for the bike. When I'm on the edge of the tire grabbing a full handful of throttle I want the tire to perform. Don't care that I saved money on the tire.
Love my 2013 airbag GW. Moved from a zx14r and really appreciate the touring benefits of the GW. Not as fast or as powerful but then again, I never used that power much anyway. Zx14 was fun at the start but that massive power became less practical over time.
Love my 1985 GL1200 Aspencade. Fresh rear suspension, air preload still works, stainless braided hydraulics. All systems in great shape. And, the big bike can dance the twisties.
I recently met a gnarly old hippy on a mid 80's Goldwing. It had over 600k miles on the clock, still on the original engine and never had any real problems. Most of the miles were done in Europe and Africa so they weren't easy miles
Hogley Davidson, cross-eyed simpleton harley nut... love it! I'm on my second wing now, already thinking of getting a newer model. Definitely the gold standard for long distance touring. I had the ST1300 for a few years, fun to ride but the saddle soreness killed the fun. Now, I can easily do 800km a day on the wing.
Just purchased a 2018 non-tour manual with 986 miles on the clock! Sorry I waited so long to try a Goldwing. It is an incredible bike. I'm 77 and wish I had done this 20 years ago.

For a 14:02 min. Gold Wing video, you spent a lot of time (1:22min.) extolling the virtues of the K1600 GT ! I am 68, had a 2004 R1150RT for 68,000 easy-riding KMS. At this age I won't be buying a motorcycle again. I have a 2 year old Made-in-India Yamaha FZ25 doing 12,000kms, which does all I need to do. One BMW in my lifetime is enough. Enough niggling things going wrong. Worst bike I ever spent money on. And yes, I do have regrets. Yes, I am a Japanese fanboy ! There is NOTHING, like the Japanese machine !
Dude - there are not just Goldwings on the road from the 80's. I ride a first gen 'wing from the 70's. Super reliable motor and a great overall bike. I am not alone either. There are a great many GL1000's still on the road across the country.
I have an 01 1800 after 10.000 ride 15 hour a day there was no fatigue never let me down poring rain and high wends and thru the mountains of BC Canada and beyond still runs perfect today at 281.000 miles 0ne new tire and lots beef jerky water all good😁😊😉
not gonna lie the new GW's look pretty freaking sweet. Cant afford one, but would like to own an older one some day. Im only 28 btw, and no kids, and generally prefer metric cruisers or sport bikes. So the goldwing has definitely left a mark on all kinds of different motorcyclists.

The latest goldwing will replace my MT09 when I retire and have more time to road trip. EDIT: wheelies! Yes the original Goldwing would power wheelie. Scary if the road turned though, flexible handlebars didn't help
I've got a 2005 Anniversary Edition Goldwing and it is a delight. Every time I ride it, it impresses me. How a big bike can have so much power and deliver it so smoothly is wild.
Got the same bike. 30 year Anniversary. I test rode it for about 30 seconds and I immediately understood why nobody wants to sell or trade thier Wings away. I rode it home after the drive.

The new generation goldwing has outstanding real-world gas mileage. Have heard of many cases getting 40-45 us mpg Given the massive 1832cc, high weight, flat 6 and shaft drive, that's incredible efficiency
@wingandhog thats quite good I see many that get more like 40mpg and less. Some even go to 33mpg and lower. Thats one of the reasons why I will not change my NT700 for a 1st gen GL1800. Yes. 25L tank. But at 40mpg and maybe worse with my riding style, it results in less range than my 19.7L and my 45-50mpg
@@someguy9520 No doubt. I think the mileage results depends on how someone rides. On the open road, I usually clip along around 75-80mph and am not typically hard on my bike. Usually for most Wing owners, gas mileage is not a major consideration. Comfort and dependability is. But getting 45-50mpg is excellent for your bike which is also an excellent machine.
@wingandhog with the NT700, it kinda doesn't. If I baby it, i get my 4.7L/100km or 50mpg. If I constantly go on the highway with 160-170km/h or 100-105mph, i still get 5.6L/100km or 42mpg in the worst case On backroads, i don't go any faster than 60-80mph, I ride with a heavy right wrist, but i also use a lot of engine braking and ride with momentum I get that many don't care about the mileage, but paying between 6.8$/gal to 8$/gal is very expensive for 15,000 miles per year with that mileage. Dependability is ridiculous. Locally, they have 170.000miles and still charge 10.000$. The only bike I would change my Deauville for would be a 2018+ DCT Goldwing with all the options. All other bikes just don't offer all that much more from purely touring aspects, especially for the money. My NT700 cost me only 3700$
@@someguy9520 …that is ridiculously expensive. I get that. Are you in Europe? That would explain those costs. Here in the USA where I live, we pay $3.20 USD per gallon. It was $1.85 prior to Biden
The Goldwing is expensive. I rationalized it by thinking, it'll be the last bike I'll need to buy. And the value really hasnt dropped. A used 2018+ will cost between 20-25k.
@@seatime674 I saw a few non-tour models for about $16k-$17k but there are lots still going for $20k+. Cycle trader is a bit hit or miss on pricing. I bought my 2018 a little more than 2 years ago and paid $26k for it. My point still stands though. If someone buys a Goldwing, in 3-4 years, the bike will still be worth close to what was paid.
I want a 3/4 scale touring bike. Like can i have an 800cc with touring suspension that's NOT an adventure bike lifted out the roof. Like i rode a BMW R1200RS the other week and it rode amazingly. But i don't need the huge boxer engine, I'd be fine with just an 800 or so parallel twin and keep the weight under 600 pounds and seat height close to 30"
Yamaha Tracer 9 GT or GT+ maybe? 890 cc (triple), 117 hp, 68 lb-ft, 492# wet, 32.2" (low) seat height, includes side cases.... This seams to meet your criteria other than the seat being a bit over 30", and it is still much lower than most of the seats on the tall ADV bikes you referred to. Plus, that CP3 engine is sweet.
Rear light's from a NSX on the Wing. Class. A mate of mine had one from 1995, didn't ride it for 18 months and decided to sell it, started 1st time and rode perfectly.
That ENTIRE front headlight/instrument cluster/fairing assembly on the Harleys is ATROCIOUS when you visualize the bare frame just underneath it. It's SUCH a bad design choice. Honda does it way better. Even the BMW looks bad in comparison. :/
my 95 k1100rs (bmw) has over 60k known miles, I got it 2 ago for cheap, It had been sitting a year or 3, some new transmission seals (clutch and shifter), a new fuel filter, and 3 valve buckets changed, and I have put over 15k miles on it commuting and traveling! insane cheap reliably, pretty quick and stylish (lots of compliments) but I'm absolutely getting a gold wing if I can't afford the k1600, I'd trade a kidney if anybody is interested!
How can you find fault with a model of bike that simply will not die? Even though I'm more a Kawasaki guy, I have the ultimate respect for Gold Wings; many of them have more miles on them than people's cars.
I have an 06 Suzuki C50T, not because I was looking for that bike specifically but because I was looking for a good first bike and got a deal on that one. So far, it has been a fantastic and comfortable machine to learn on and ride. Your "Cringe and hard pass" just based on looks you don't care for and nothing to do with the ride/reliability is pretty lame.
Agreed. I just upgraded to a 2023 Indian Pursuit from my ‘19 C90 B.O.S.S., which I totally loved. Reliable, powerful, confident in most all conditions and terrain, I loved that thing. Not sure why he neglected to mention the C90 since it is closer to the GW in engine size….(or why he had to dump on the C50 for that matter)….maybe b/c they don’t manufacture the C90 anymore? But the Boulevard was my first return to motorcycling after my teenage run with the 1976 Honda 125 CB. I’ll remember that 2019 Suzuki fondly.

I get that many don't care about the mileage, but paying between 6.8$/gal to 8$/gal is very expensive for 15,000 miles per year with that mileage.
You can get an '18 Wing for $16-17k now
@@seatime674 I saw a few non-tour models for about $16k-$17k but there are lots still going for $20k+. Cycle trader is a bit hit or miss on pricing.
I bought my 2018 a little more than 2 years ago and paid $26k for it. My point still stands though. If someone buys a Goldwing, in 3-4 years, the bike will still be worth close to what was paid.
I’m waiting for the GWM SOUO 8-cyl cruiser.
can you do a video about the new 2024 Kawasaki zx6r it got a upgrade in tech and design but lost a couple ponys day 1
❤🎉 can we be friends, I'm also a bike girl, you sound interesting.
Yommie needs to do a serious distance ride on one to convince me this is worth it
I want a 3/4 scale touring bike.
Find a Honda pacific coast. They don't make them anymore, but still can be found used. I had two of them. Loved them. Just a baby goldwing! 😀👍
I’ve got a nice 2011 c50t I’ll sell you
I have an '85 wing. This bike holds its own very well. The only thing wrong with it, is it's ugly! Lol I love it.
I like this generation wing. I need to test ride one
As far as Yamaha touring what about the 2018 + Venture and eluder models
Goldwings will run for at least 200,000 miles
Love my 95 Gwing yeh yeah
Lol, I got an 81 gl1100 I've been trying to get running. Saw this popup and got curious
I liked the part, when he talked about the Goldwing! ;D
Wouldn't trade my 2018 GW bagger for anything else.
Rear light's from a NSX on the Wing. Class. A mate of mine had one from 1995, didn't ride it for 18 months and decided to sell it, started 1st time and rode perfectly.
I have a 2010 GL1800 and love it!!
I can't wait to turn 50 and buy this and go cross country w my future wife.... I'm only 28 rn tho so catch me on my ninja 400 at the track baby!
My Goldwing looks identical to the blue 1 at the end of the video.
I really don't understand the whole rockform phone mount thing. Just enjoy the ride, unplug for a bit
i have a 2021...love it!!
That ENTIRE front headlight/instrument cluster/fairing assembly on the Harleys is ATROCIOUS when you visualize the bare frame just underneath it. It's SUCH a bad design choice. Honda does it way better. Even the BMW looks bad in comparison. :/
I'm surprised how many were sold without ABS.
Would you recommend a gold wing for a first bike
No, they are too big and heavy. You need experience before you own a Goldwing.
@@7viewerlogic670 had it over a month now, with no problems. It’s not hard to ride.
@@Carsonktm420 Ok
God bless Japan. No one adopted capitalism like Japan. Japanese industry said, "Hold my Sapporo!"
They need to bring back the silverwing at this point. something a little smaller and budget friendly now the gold wing got so bloated
can we get a video on the best sceneic drives for motorycles
There are plenty, just search...
i drive my brothers CBR250r and it has been running perfectly from the past 9years
my 95 k1100rs (bmw) has over 60k known miles, I got it 2 ago for cheap, It had been sitting a year or 3, some new transmission seals (clutch and shifter), a new fuel filter, and 3 valve buckets changed, and I have put over 15k miles on it commuting and traveling! insane cheap reliably, pretty quick and stylish (lots of compliments) but I'm absolutely getting a gold wing if I can't afford the k1600, I'd trade a kidney if anybody is interested!
Get rid of it !
There is NOTHING like the Japanese machine !
Yes please!
