Just wandered across this video. It sure made my day :) WOW, get your launch under control and you'll be in the 7s :O I especially love how you drove it home. Well done!!!
I havent seen a streetable forced induction V8 that commanded that much respect in a metal car with glass windows and almost at the original curb weight, for at least the past 25-30 years (?) a couple GTR’s I encountered were serious rides, but this is an imagined concept thought out devised created and successfully turned reality by the owner of the car and whoever (if any) contributed with the build snd set up (i skimmed the credits before watching so i forget, skepticism from all the podunks and their bumrunners posting clickbait, time Ill never get back but this makes it seem almost worth the early watch history list’s proof of my lack of scrutiny) but my point is this was a person who decided to hot rod an inline six, petrol, that came with 160? Bhp If I had to guess with a nice flat torque “warp” hate to say curve, more like a grade variation, or trajectory!, and turned it into a ScramJet “all boogie no baloney!” Serious boogie, like “Bang Bang Boogie he but that aint no rookie” Gotter Did!
It would appear a set of quick-release willie bars are in order, which I'm sure would bring this baby down to a flat 8 and possibly into the high 7s. BTW, love the clean engine bay. I hate to see anything cobbled together like Frankenstein, even though this is certainly a beast (by any definition), and I'm glad it doesn't look the part. If it's not necessary, I would ditch the bulging hood scoop for a total sleeper look. Lastly, it's on the heavy side, so I would try a diet rich in fiberglass. But luckily, it doesn't take anything away from this car and is impressive performance.
A few questions, what is the compression ratio that allows you to run 42psi and how did you manage to add about 1,000 lbs to the car's stock curb weight?
destroked? so less displacement? the only reason I could think of doing that would be through a smaller stroke length getting you higher rpms but less torque down low. is that the reason?
I'm usually the kind of guy who says keep v8s in muscle cars, but I would much rather see an i6 in a mustang than another ls swapped monstrosity. Inline motors ftw
It is a very capable motor I would put it on par with a 2JZ just not as big of an aftermarket following. In Australia 1000+ hp 4.0 Fords are built pretty often.
E85 is cheaper to buy at the service station. And we tune our cars to make more power on e85 then our standard 98pulp. Plus we also have the fastest compacts and rotaries in the world...BOOM
mehftv ya at some delta sonics they have 100octane for 8.49 a gollon this past season, in NY that is im not sure if other states have that or something equal
cava454 yeah nah, its not going to build boost in neutral and hardly going to take a 1000hp drive banger. When its at the lights its on the transbrake so it would just be the way they set it to release
Back 20 or so years ago you could only register RHD cars in Aus so many older imports were converted. Many Mustangs are like this because they were a popular import back in the day. Now you are allowed to register a LHD car if you pay extra.
Ummmm, the steering wheel was installed on the wrong side of that American icon, and if you're really gonna run a 6cyl, is there any way to make it sound like it's NOT a 6cyl?! Much respect for keepin it FORD powered, but it sounds like a junk Honda or trash Toyota...
Not all inline 6's sound like that tho. I was actually expecting it to sound like the inline 6 I have in my car (slant six) bcuz they're both American 6's made in the 60's. And I've never hear any slant six sound like that
eeemanyo Its not an American 6, its an Aussie SOHC 6 from the falcon, quite a different engine. Traces back to the same engine, but is not similar in any way really. They're $150 engines over here, I've seen people pulling 500hp out of them unopened! www.boostedfalcon.net
The Ford 300 with boost is great but these two motors are very different, the 300 will out pull the Barra the Barra will be faster, I live my 300 powered trucks
Jugo Betrugo Much more than 100,000 inline 6 cylinder Mustangs were built in the '60s. It was the standard engine. I too prefer the V8 models but who's going to mess with this 6 cylinder, street driven machine? Not many if they're smart. This engine though is a much later 4.0L SOHC, not the 1965 200 cid flathead 6 cylinder.
This engine is the same that Ford put in the last six cylinder trucks in the 90's/early 00's. There is really no aftermarket for it here (USA) because of people's general attitudes about non-V8 performance.
They do this so when your v8 gets smashed. They can brag.... it’s part of the game never under estimate your Opponent s true steer car sleeper. I never go by the sound of a motor anymore. There are real STREET guys out there willing to fool you and take your money. I paid my tuition
That thing really is awesome...so cleanly built too. Great work!
I swear every time I see that car it keeps getting faster and faster!!! Congrats to the owner getting 1300 HP out of that wonderful engine
This was big fun! Six in a row can go, without a doubt. Thanks for this.
God the shaved engine bays that the cars always have on this channel are just GORGEOUS
Just wandered across this video. It sure made my day :) WOW, get your launch under control and you'll be in the 7s :O I especially love how you drove it home. Well done!!!
An absolutely magnificent car. Well done.
Johns gonna need wheelie bars soon, he probably really needs em now, awesome
This car is so amazing!! From the interior to the exterior AND it hooks soooo well. I wish I could feel 169 MPH
Fucking mental absolutely. Ford for king
Unbelievable horsepower from that Ford Six Cylinder! Awesome 👍
Rippin!!! Friggin thing aint no joke ! Nice setup!
nice build ...mid 8s missing 2 cyl....you rule bro keep up the great work
That's a bad ride. Clean, very streetable and crazy fast.
One true streeter
And dont stop till you hit sevens.
Now thats a mustang :)
Damn that is one slick ride. Looks so basic but it screams like a beast.
Beautiful I love it in line 6 power keep it going
Six in a row is the way to go and better than any boat anchor v8 !
Now that's a first for me, well done all ford very cool.
line 6s like this and the 2jz sound VERY nice!

Barras are cool. Someday I'm going to put one in a 66 Mustang and build about an 800hp drift car. That'll be fun.
Kinda close but not a Barra haha
Damn that thing launches good.
Very discreet cage ! Nice car !!
Mustangs and falcons are awesome with inline 6s and 4s
@Martin there's a 62 2.0L duratec falcon called little squirt you should check out then. There's also tons 4g63 swapped mustangs out there
Right-side drive. Australia?
I like it. Cool street/strip car.
So tuff, Love it!
Speechless......
What does that 6 come out of ? OHC Wow !!! 2 spd Chevy Power glide , that fast yet able to drive it home
It's an Australian Ford Falcon engine.
That is one diffrent cool car!
Wiked car man love it
Other than the steering being on the wrong side thats pretty cool.
omg that sound from a ford v6, amazing!
Inline 6 pal! This stang reminds me 2JZ toyota's scream or rb26 nissan!!
Buen día!!
+julian ronson yeah very 2jz sounding. When It gets to redline it has a unique sound.
ford inline 6 bruv
Why the 66 grille??
Did I read this right? You'e burning E-85 and running in the 8's?
Just what I need ...
beautiful job!
Car looks good too.
would like to see how this thing would go at drag week in the US
Anyone know which Blow-off this car uses?
Wonderful sound!!!!
it has none, that sound is the air blowing back through the turbo.
A few questions, what is the compression ratio that allows you to run 42psi and how did you manage to add about 1,000 lbs to the car's stock curb weight?
How much do these Australian I6 weigh the big 300in I6 here had a dry weight of 528lbs
@@jamescrow8999 360
That boost!!
destroked? so less displacement? the only reason I could think of doing that would be through a smaller stroke length getting you higher rpms but less torque down low. is that the reason?
i think its just to lower the compression ratio enough to stop detonation
mac union, yea buddy. that's a fist full of boost!!
Yes more rpm. They destroke Barras for the same reason. Dion Amato revs his over 10,000rpm 2kHP+
Awesome!
That's what I want!
Bring this to tx2k plzzzz
I'm usually the kind of guy who says keep v8s in muscle cars, but I would much rather see an i6 in a mustang than another ls swapped monstrosity. Inline motors ftw
Well Mustangs arent Muscle cars. So I say fuck it.
@@benjamin8558 Neither are cameros or vettes.
yep.
Alot of these came with straight 6's from the factory anyway.
@@Arrozconchopsticks not like this 6. At least not in America.
From 0 to death in 3 seconds ;)
The Ford I6 is better than the Toyota JZ engines.
Explain......please do.
Is it better than all the RBs?
It is a very capable motor I would put it on par with a 2JZ just not as big of an aftermarket following. In Australia 1000+ hp 4.0 Fords are built pretty often.
Tell us all about yours?
No it's not. I love the Engine but it was designed for Grocery Shopping and Taxis. The 2JZGTE was literally designed to chop Supercars on the streets
wow nice
Makes me want to paint mine orange
fuck yes!
2:27 is that 8,000+ RPM from a 3.8L 6 cylinder? Jesus christ.
It's crazy how it almost sounds like a 2JZ.
It's not even a Barra too, it's too fucking amazing
The pistons go up not sideways!! (hint) Turbos love load and a two speed will do that. Bitchin' ride!!
Is E85 all you guys got down under, cos up here in the states we just use 118 octane pure petrol
I live in the states and e-85 is the way to go if it is available in your area
dave194315 We have 98RON (similar to your 93) everywhere, E85 is at limited service stations.
E85 is cheaper to buy at the service station. And we tune our cars to make more power on e85 then our standard 98pulp. Plus we also have the fastest compacts and rotaries in the world...BOOM
+dave194315 lol you Americans use a shit load of E85. In Canada the only way to get pure gas is premium 91 octane.
mehftv ya at some delta sonics they have 100octane for 8.49 a gollon this past season, in NY that is im not sure if other states have that or something equal
can some please tell me how to turbocharge a 64 1/2 with a 260 cubic inch V-8 @164hp?
I have one in my 64 Comet Caliente that would be nice.
Cool!
The advantage of having a 6 cylinder is less weight and less fuel consumption
The new Mustangs should have had a Barra option.
i was about to stop watching it because he only ran the 1/8 mile glad i didn't because he did run 1/4 mile and that is one fine car
Aussie Aussie Aussie oi oi oi
N to D quick shift?
Probably a big stall
That's no big stall.
That's a rev in Neutral and slam into into 1st job.
cava454
yeah nah, its not going to build boost in neutral and hardly going to take a 1000hp drive banger. When its at the lights its on the transbrake so it would just be the way they set it to release
cava454 Looked to be using 2nd gear + foot brake in-lieu of transbrake to build boost for some of the launches
I'd like to see an R34 line up beside that beast!
I rather the screaming six over a boat anchor v8 any day
Haven't been out to Heathcote park for years. Fu€k!ng sh!t hole that it is.... Beautiful car though, great bang for your bucks setup in it to
Australia's fastest street car?
A even better Fairmont engine Denmah
why df is the steering wheel on the wrong side???
Back 20 or so years ago you could only register RHD cars in Aus so many older imports were converted. Many Mustangs are like this because they were a popular import back in the day.
Now you are allowed to register a LHD car if you pay extra.
Nearly 11 times the hp the straight 6 these things came with had.
Jeez
What cubic inch sex is that and I was curious of what gear he had in the rear
Well based on the performance I'd say it's about 13.5 cubic inches of sex. haha couldn't resist. It's in the neighborhood of 230 ci
The eco-boost should’ve just been this
With a screaming 6 and not a boat anchor
That's badazz! I6 Ford, and not a 2jz.
Nice, sounds like a supra!
eeemanyo It sounds like an inline 6, which it is. Same goes for the Supra.
Not all inline 6's sound like that tho. I was actually expecting it to sound like the inline 6 I have in my car (slant six) bcuz they're both American 6's made in the 60's. And I've never hear any slant six sound like that

Wow really? That's awesome
+eeemanyo au falcon engine.
u can her the turbo screaming
i love everything about the car just missing the v8 sound.
Clearly Americans got hosed on the Ford 300.
The Ford 300 with boost is great but these two motors are very different, the 300 will out pull the Barra the Barra will be faster, I live my 300 powered trucks
42 pounds of boost wow gone gone gone
Very heavy for a Mustang.. Especially considering some were delivered at 2500lbs.
jeez only lap belts going that fast if he was to crash he be dead 8.36 at 169 i guess the aussies don't care about safety
LAVAROCK100 i saw that. No harness at mid 8s. And it’s already has a roll cage. That’s wild
nice car but somehow i miss the v8 sound :( old mustangs shouldnt be inline 6s ...
Jugo Betrugo Much more than 100,000 inline 6 cylinder Mustangs were built in the '60s. It was the standard engine.
