I got a 1971 GT TORINO for $300, 302 motor, bought a brown Fairmont station wagon.( irony ) put a mustang chassis to hold 302, some massage but awesome sleeper, normal shifting 2 nd gear bark. Good times. Awesome seeing what my Fairmont could have been. 1992.
For those who don't know, the Mexican Nissan Altima is called EL INMIGRANTE and it's absolutely crazy. By the way, I saw that it was put up for sale. Its owner is called Marcos Chavez.
hey whats up guys and in this video... i alr subbed the instant the vid started playing and liked so i hope i wasn't too early but then again i have always subbed instantly and liked no matter what vid i see
Not a drag racing expert by far, that's why I have questions I'm hoping someone can answer. First, though, it was great seeing a Gremlin out there kicking some @$$! 1. Why were vehicles being launched at different times? I thought if you were racing, you both left at the same time. 2. How does someone have a faster 1/4 mile time at a slower speed than the other vehicle? 3. Does anyone know what the red SUV was running in it (between 9 and 10 minutes in)? That thing was fast!
1. Sometimes they handicap the faster cars for a closer race. So they start at different times determined by the Tree 2. High Gearing Ratios: Higher acceleration from a stand still, but lower top speed at the end. They reach the limit of speed based on their gearing ratios. For example a standard A10 Camaro SS has a 4.70 1st gear, which means it probably won't go much over 30-40mph in that gear if you left it in that gear. While the M6 version has a 3.73 first gear. The M6 will be slower on launch, but have a higher top speed in first gear than the A10. Probably closer to 50-60 mph for the M6. 3. It was a turbo boosted chevy. If you watch his races again, you can hear him no-lag spool up the turbos before launching. If I had to guess twin turbo and anywhere in the range of 416 - 632 ci. That truck probably weighs about 6000-8000lbs. So to pull 8 sec 1/4's. Huge huge torque and hp numbers or gutted weight reduction. That truck probably has about 2000 hp or more.
That's pretty much exactly what a sleeper is. People have done major modifications on their cars in order to beat unsuspecting drivers. A sleeper car. If you drive a stock car and lose every race, yeah, that is a different type of sleeper.
I find it funny when people drive faster cars than I, and then I leave them for dust. It is not about what car it is. Rather, it is the driver. 🤙🏼🙂🤙🏼❤️
I disagree, put any professional race car driver in a stock 4 cyl 74 Pinto, and some joe-schmo off the street in a basic 2024 Mustang GT for instance, I will lay money the average guy will win the race. Straight drag of course.
What is a supercar for you? 😁 But well, i know that drag racing is addictive and im pretty fan of it. But the mechanics deserves more attention in drag races than thoses pilots. And supercars are made to be use on open road, and turn.
I'm sorry, but a Sleeper is a (for instance)...a factory built '66 4 Door Biscayne with bottle caps and a 4 and a Quarter horse 427....auto or manual....doesn't matter...yup, they made 'em if you checked the right boxes!
@FuriousRubber may be able to do big burnouts but that's never been what it means here in Australia. Sleepers! Cars that look stock, but secretly pack all kinds of horsepower. That's from Street Machine Australia and I'd say pretty much any Aussie if you ask them.
@TroyGriggs29 agreed From what I've seen in America it means a car that looks rough and low cost but is fast , it may look obviously modified though. Where in Australia it looks stock standard but is much quicker than standard
@@gdawwg1125 it used to mean that here in America before the whole rusty beat up style became popular. I've had my truck long enough, that it was just an 'old shtbox', now it is 'cool' and gets compliments everywhere I go 🤷
you can modify any of Mum's shopping trolleys and then put them up against a stock supercar and maybe win, BUT if you have the stock mum's shopping trolley against the stock supercar, the supercar will win. It's not a level playing field
What is dismissed from these comparisons is how does the car perform overall? Sure some accelerated away on the straight - so what. Handling? Safety. Value... All more important than going fast in a straight line for a few seconds.
value? both are absolutely horrendous in that department, I cant add more due to bias on my end. and this is like comparing a semi to a train both "technically" are used for transportation but its apples to oranges.
An engine swap on a station-wagon does NOT classify a "sleeper" car. So what, I have seen some school busses that can run a quick quarter-mile. Note, if you see a parachute on a 73 Volvo station-wagon, you can bet easy money it is not a Volvo motor, or Caprice wagon, or Fairmont wagon, or Dodge mini-van, or whatever is in the lane, it is not a sleeper. I am tired of these kinds of videos, "sleeper cars" or the ever stupid "old man does massive lift", or "nerd women" that has a $150k plastic surgery lifts/tucks/fillers etc. This and reaction videos are the dumbest crap on UA-cam and TicTok!
@solairson some do have turbine technology Most was actually from piston lowerd areoples. Called turboprop shaf The turbo acts like a suction and it makes added power to the areo plane engine or transport engine to make it faster powerful One a supercharger other Turbocharger or turbine driven etc The more you ad increase power with lag etc 5liter can make similar power to 8liter bhp It down to the turbine or Turbocharger or supercharger

Awesome seeing what my Fairmont could have been.
1992.
Shit sounds awesome man one day I'd love to own some classic cars
Okay, the farm truck is not a sleeper. Everyone knows the farm truck and what its capable of 😅
True lmao
lol everyone’s knows that truck can dance 😂😂😂😂😂😂
The shiny thing erected out of the bonnet kind of gives it away.
Why do people like you do this shit...just enjoy the movies and if you don't...then move on and be quiet...blah blah blah sleeper. You go make a movie
Back in the day it wasn't well known
I'm pretty sure that SMART CAR is the one that's got a 1344cc HAYABUSA engine in it.

Marcos should practice his shifting, because one day he's going to pull the transmission through the floor.
What's his real name? 😄

Insane 🫣
@rrawlins786 personally my favorite sleeper 🤣🤣
YEET!❤🔥🔥🔥
If the person that owns the Supercar don't know how to drive it then they might as well be in a Geo Metro😂
"Don't mess with Mexicans"- Bwahahaha!!! Good one bro.
Moral of this story is dont mess with a trailblazer if it has a parachutte on back😂😂
I did like the 2 cars going down the quarter mile and they gave the other cars a decent head start and still beat them
vid deserves a sub

Amazing!
Thanks alot I really appreciate that ♥️

Türkiye de böyle yerler yok... Ben yapmam böyle ama.!? İzlemeye giderim.
2nd car did a toretto signature move haha
Sorry, but I don't consider a purpose built "race" car a "sleeper".
That's pretty much exactly what a sleeper is. People have done major modifications on their cars in order to beat unsuspecting drivers. A sleeper car. If you drive a stock car and lose every race, yeah, that is a different type of sleeper.
Sleepers don’t look like average racers

If you hear a bucket of rust on wheels that sound like 10 million horses dont even think about racing it period.

0:01 bro already a sleeper

None of these are street cars. They don't need handling or comfort, they just need to go 1/4 of a mile as fast as they can.
