  • Cost to Fix Audi RS7 after 1 Week of Ownership! (CRAZY EXPENSIVE) Plus shop Update
So You guys said it. After 1 short week of owning the Audi RS7 it is in the shop. The cost to maintain this car is absolutely crazy. 4 issues in one week. While all of them are minor it still makes me second guess my buying decision on Audi. I will say the Audi Dealer did stand up and take care of the cost involved. I still think we will keep the car because my Wife LOVES it. I will be giving you updates as the RS7 Saga continues. As for the shop build I just can't get them to finish or deal with the issues in a timely matter. I have waited for months now for a resolution and still am waiting. I think I will eventually cover the floor but I really just wanted a nice finished concrete floor. Time will tell I guess what happens. I'm SO READY to move in though. Its hard to look at this building everyday knowing what I could do once it is up and running.

Keep the Audi man . People talk a lot of shit about them , but they are great cars and just like every other car, you need to take care of them. We own a 2011 Audi Q7 tdi and it’s a solid car 145k miles on it and mostly little stuff. I do work on my cars too and it isn’t that bad working on them and if you ever need anything for any Audi , FCP Euro has everything for them. Use Liqui Moly oil for them . I’ve been using it for our Q7 and it’s the best oil out there for the Audi . The garage look very good and sorry about the concrete . It sucks when people you hire are not to e level of the expectation. Enjoy the RS7 . I wish I could afford it . I would get it in a heartbeat . As always great content 😊

You can afford it homie all you gotta do is organize your finances. Research the car and wait for the person who made a mistake buying the car and stack your money up in the meantime. This is exactly what I did and I ended up doing more with my free time to earn more cash to build up my down payment. It took me two years but I learned a lot about myself and that I could make extra real money so I did and rewarded myself with a MK3 TT RS at the time it had 23k miles on it two years and some change later car has been my place of fortitude lol on nice summer like days. Believe and you will achieve!!! Good luck from a stranger Sir!! You got this 🫡

    1. Test drive the car and then scan it.
    2. Know the recommended service intervals and what is to be changed. If a car needs a new transmission every 100k and the car sits at 99k, have the transmission changed first or the price lowered accordingly.
    3. Always test the A/C. Even on rental cars. All windows down/up. Wipers. Mirror dimming. All the stuff people forget.
    4. Buy a warranty and don't use it at the dealer. You can buy 3rd party warranty that doesn't question modifications.
    5. Never go near the dealer. They do not share your vision for car ownership.
    6. Find an independent car mechanic who specializes in your brand and model and who uses OEM parts minus the Audi logos.
You can have your cake and eat it too with that car, but you can't approach it with the same attitude as a north American vehicle. Sure you could get a Dodge this or Ford that and do up the engine, but how are you going to modify the interior to be less noisy, better quality and make the panel gaps and squeaks go away? If none of that is a concern then drive an 80's muscle car with a carburetor. Each of us has a tolerance for how much braking, handling, luxury, power, fit/finish we want. A lot of folks seem to want to tell you what levels you should have.
Back in the day almost every muscle car driver regardless of brand respected a Corvette, even if we did just destroy one in a race. But a lot of us said the if we could afford it we would get a hype European car and enjoy luxury, speed and quality. You have it. A tune on that car makes it insanely quick, especially if you have access to e85. To have 800+ lbs ft of torque is impressive and then to be able to change modes and enjoy a peaceful comfortable quiet long trip is a dream.
PS I think those brakes might be scary expensive...

    • @TWAMotorsports

Very well said. I think just being unfamiliar with it is the unsettling part. It is a very well put together car and very nice interior

Gorgeous car and perfect specifications. The B8 RS7 is on my list of cars to own. Unfortunately all used cars are the same hit or miss and a lot of time with cars like this people that own them before have more cash then brains and skip on maintenance, service, fuel, and operation. And yes Audi cost a lot to repair and even more for parts just like any M series by BMW or Porsche. This is not your standard GM product.

Any Audi model S or RS is only supposed to be serviced by a Master Technician ($300 an hour rate), it’s definitely a pill to swallow. I bought a used 15’ S7 under 60k miles for under $39k. The repair bill was over $12,500; new windshield , new tires & alignment, PCV replacement (covered under recall), new ACC camera, recalibrate the lane departure/ ACC/ Dynamic breaking… CarMax wasn’t happy and wanted the car back, nope, 90 days or 4000 miles 100% guarantee…. You’re fixing it. Like you, I bought an extended warranty. It’s a lovely vehicle and great drive. Stick it out, it won’t disappoint.

I just recently got a German auto myself. Theres 2 things i can tell you that youre gonna need. First is special tools. BMW likes using torx head bolts, so will need to buy actual torx head sockets. Not sure if audi uses them, but they are both german .The 6 points will strip out so dont try. Also they like using wierd sizes like 9mm and 11mm. Second, get a hold of some of the technician software. BMW uses ISTA+ for my vehicle and it is amazing simple to use. Prices will always be astronomical. I was quoted 1.5k to find a fuel leak. Took me 5 minutes to find and fix. Engine mount was bad, they wanted 800 for that. Was probably the easiest mount ive ever replaced. Last was i had an injector with black death growing on it. Estimated 7k worth of work. 180$ in tools and a bottle of carb cleaner and i had it out. I did have to reprogram the injector with the above mentioned software just like i had to reprogram the battery. Welcome to the world of complex luxury.

If you didn’t know that going in then you didn’t do your homework! BMW, AUDi, and Mercedes all Uber expensive to the 10th degree. If you want an inexpensive luxury car in regards to maintenance is LEXUS only! Otherwise do what I did and find a Audi mechanic outside of the dealership. They exist and that’s what Facebook and social media platforms are made for and I’ll add do your research on those mechanics too. I did that and now my TT RS DSG flush cost me $300 instead of $1000 that’s a fact. Look up what Audi charges for this simple procedure lol. My boy does it for $300 and yes my car is stage 2 which he also did and I learned a lot about my car to the point I change my own oil. I don’t need Audi dealership for nothing outside of buying another vehicle. Which I’m getting an RS7 next year so I can finally daily an Audi the TT RS is to nice to daily and love this car with all my heart ❤️ ❤️❤️. None of these stock Hellcats do though ✌️

People in here bagging on audi over a common sensor and a key battery meanwhile they’re driving moms Dodge Journey.
The sensor may have been expensive because dealer markup or it was the wideband that these cars utilize. And like AC problems aren’t common on cars across the board. Audi isn’t unreliable. Land Rover is unreliable. I’ve had 2 VW and an Audi and they’re great.

As long as the integrity of the floor is there, put it on the concrete guy that he has to to pay for someone else to put a couple of coats of professional grade epoxy. If he doesn't, tell him it will cost him more to redo it by tearing it out.

Welcome to the main revenue model of Audi lol. Avoid the dealer at all times as they totally screw up your car, and some repairs are so dumb it must have been intentional from the stories I heard from friends owning Audi too, just like me btw (S7). Dealers always like to point out the added value a dealer maintained car has over non-dealer maintained, but you pay many times over to finally monetize that value. Always go to an independent specialist.
