Dude, that car farts thunderbolts while you drive. Who cares about USB or slow back up camera? It's missing a rocket launcher on the roof and gatling guns on the sides 😂
@The_Panda99 oh man, it's been ages since I commented on this, so I don't necessarily remember the video, but- as an enthusiast car, I think that meaty sounding V8 is more important than tech. Maybe I'm a bit biased since I think that gen of facelifed audi a6-7 and a8 d4 are best looking ones and still sound good? What are you getting though? A g30 m5? It's a shame that new one is so ugly compared to older one
I think this generation of Audi interior has aged really well. Besides the lack of CarPlay which you can add aftermarket, it has everything you can want and the layout is both luxurious and easy to understand
For the brake squeak I’d recommend getting some carbon ceramic brake pads from r1 concepts, they have some good brakes for a good price, fixed the squeaking on my car and cut down on brake dust too
I have a fully loaded 2012 A7 including the amazing B&O sound system and the RS7 is still my dream car. Maybe someday. The adapter cable under the armrest is for directly connecting your phone to the MMI system. Yours has a micro-USB connector (which is ridiculous) while mine came with the old Apple 30 pin connector (equally ridiculous). Thankfully, there was a short adapter cable sold at the time that went from the 30 pin connector to an Apple lightning connector so every iPhone I have had since has been able to directly connect to the MMI system. I still use Bluetooth mostly but that can be painfully slow to connect sometimes. Still, for a car that is now 12 years old (in-service date was November 2011), it has aged incredibly well.
If your massaging seat feels weak, try sitting in the passenger seat. If the passenger seat has a stronger, better massager, then your driver seat air compressor is worn out and needs replaced. 👍
Sorry to hear. It can be a lucky dip with Audis. Nothing but problems with my A5, but the RS7 has been exceptional. Not sure I'll buy German again. Having worked for a German competitor, they really gouge the customers.
I've owned audi for a decade, I'm sorry to hear you've had a bad experience. Buying lower mileage and well maintained German cars is the key, otherwise you can get a ticking time bomb.
Shit stock pads, too hard. I got my RS7 with 45,000 kms on it and the rotors were already chewed out. $8000 AUD to replace. I went with Hawk ceramic pads and haven't looked back. Very little wear on the rotors and plenty of pad life 5 years later.
Mike, you can buy an Audi AMI to USB-female cable, for in your center armrest console. Then you have phone integration with your MMI for playing music etc (no CarPlay) and charging phone option.
Your uploads have really been great since you were open about being burned out a little bit. I really enjoy the content you put out. Interesting vlogs and the S65 is such a cool and unique pick for a car UA-camr. Keep up the great work 💪🏻
I also owned an RS7 and the moment I saw the video title, I fully expected you to mention the squeaky brakes. Those annoyed the HELL out of me. I had upgraded from an S7 before I got the RS7, and I almost regretted the RS7 solely because of the squeaky brakes, despite the increase in power and performance.
You can code video while driving on that car for sure. 3g+ systems which yours has allows that if coded. Used a Carly on my 2014 S6 to do it too. It’s the 2g, 2g+, and 3g systems where you cannot.
The part you need costs only about £20 and is the central locking actuator not the full door. Get z screw driver or release the latch and remove the central locking actuator. Not the whole door release. The A class has the same problem.
For the gas cap that isn’t opening you don’t need to get a new cap but change the motor. My son bought a Golf 7 recently with the same issue. My buddy is VW mechanic and changed the motor within 15”.
IDK if you did already or if its been done, but these cars come with a turbo oil screen that often gets clogged up, and most just remove it completely. Just make sure to use performance oil, no crappy stuff that clumps, and keep up with oil changes. Other than that, wtf! No USB ports? I wanted a D4.5 S8 Plus so badly and I just googled it to see if it also lacks ports and it does, come up Audi !! 😂
that issue with the fuel cap happens to Mercedes too, i have a C43 and had two times a replacement of the electric motor. Same problem as on the RS7, nothing happend after tapping the cap and the rescue unlock is even more unreachable.
What would you use an usb port for? Music? You can stream it via Bluetooth. Apple car play, wasn’t introduced until next gen, so you can buy a dongle for 100$ and you’ll have wireless Apple car play and android auto.
I had a 2016 audi a6 interior and mmi is similar to your rs7...the mmi is updated and was pretty quick. The one huge annoying thing was the HVac controls need to be a rocket scientist to turn fans high or low, even when they are not on auto they have a mind of its own fans go max speed even if you turn them down once in the drive gradually goes back to max speed...super annoying.
It really does - I think it does something with your drive speed - similar to the audio control that gets louder or lower based off speed. I turned that off (the audio) one.
I have an A6 with similar package and I really like the comfort seats with massage function. Have you tried the passenger seat just to rule out that there might be something wrong with the driver seat? For the fuel filler cap you need to replace the unit which is attached to the emergency release. I think it is called throttle control element (4L0 862 153 C) and it solved my problem. There are videos showing how to do that and it took me 15 minutes. I also installed some additional USB-ports but I never use them. B&O lacks a bit of deep bass but otherwise crisp and clear sound. Head up display is a good feature and Night Vision are maybe a bit overrated and works best spotting cyclist in cities.
I had the S7 and my complaints were all the same. I can't agree more that they sound small to most people. However, it was sooo annoying! That door beeping was roughhhh! the squeaking is so loud. It would SCREECH to a halt as I approached the gate at work, drive thru windows, etc. I hated that I couldn't open the trunk from the outside after starting the car. This would suck in situations where the car would be on in the driveway and I needed to toss something in the trunk. You have to open the driver door and open it from the inside! wasn't the worst thing in the world for me (since I knew about it) but when friends or family would try to help me load something in, I'd have to explain that it doesn't open from the rear. the looks on their faces...!
I hope you’ve changed the turbo oil screens to prevent blown turbos from oil starvation? - very common on pre 2018 models of the 4.0 Audi twin turbo engine. I owned a 2018 Audi RS6 performance. (I live in New Zealand the RS6 wagon was never released in the USA) I sold it as it had too much lag and didn’t actually feel that fast. I replaced it with a 2014 E63s with the twin turbo 5.5 M157 engine. It has much more personality and feels much faster and more exciting. Audi RS products have zero personality out of the box IMO
You can put an usb port at that adapts also you can connect the phone with car for phone calls and music using bluetooth , you just has to know how to do it
I am an owner of a RS7 too. What i hate is the fact, that Audi doesn't continue the contract with Google. I would love to use the Google Maps! What i also don't like is the volume. Awesome whip man! I'm looking at a 2015 rs7 prestige with 93k miles for 35k what do you think and what should I be concerned about these cars with high mileage? Will be my first luxury sports car.
I have an ‘18.. these engines are pretty bullet proof. You’ll mainly have to worry about electrical things with high mileage. Just make sure the oil screen recalls were done so you don’t end up with a big turbo replacement bill. I believe you can call an Audi dealership and provide them with the VIN and they’ll let you know if it’s been done.
You have a USB port - it’s just not the most frequent type: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB Likely you can get an adapter from USB Mini-B connector to USB-A. Assuming voltage is correct 🙏🏼
Hmm that old Motorola charger in the center console maybe you can swap that whole piece out for a usb same for the rear passenger outlets you can convert one of those outlets to usb Amazon sells them. You would just have to find one that fits and looks oem. I bought one for a old Camry I had it has two USB’s and a volt reader built in and all I have to do it just swap out the old 12volt socket for the new one and now it’s usb and looks clean. Now that I no longer have that vehicle I do have the 2018 s5 sportback prestige and I noticed my truck has a 12 volt socket along with the passenger rear so I’m actually going to be using that in the truck of the Audi or I can just cut out another hope and add that in and still have my 12 volt socket. But there are options. Lol you have a great car that’s my next one but I also really like the q8 just cause it’s the closest look to the Lamborghini urus 😂
i had 2015 genesis g80, and it had way more advanced tech features then this. yeah your right audi need pick up there game in some areas of car features
"What the hell is this adapter thing?" and shows an usb cable 😂 I guess that mini usb to audi mmi adapter was meant to play movies from an external DVD player etc. But yes no usb sockets on any of this gen Audis.
Hey Autovlog. If you're wanting USB then you will need to upgrade the MMI system. The USB port only came with the generation of MMI where Android Auto or Apple Car Play can be used. I would look to retrofit it
squeaky brakes are at the top of my list... I have a 2017 S7 Prestige..Love everything about the car (straight piped as well lol) its just the annnoying squealing pulling up to every stop sign. seems to do it more the more you drive and the hotter they get. Anyways if you find a solution let me know? Ive been through 3 sets of pads trying to get it to stop with NO luck, ceramic, semi, metallic nothing has worked, and the brake dust on these cars is insane!!!

But there are options. Lol you have a great car that’s my next one but I also really like the q8 just cause it’s the closest look to the Lamborghini urus 😂
I miss your Audi R8. It was speced really nice and sounded amazing!
Kontakten du visade upp är en USB Mini-B, det finns adaptrar att köpa.
The squeaking brakes may also be caused by worn down brake pads.
I've cured squeaking brakes in the past by doing a track day at a high speed track. Re-beds everything.
i had 2015 genesis g80, and it had way more advanced tech features then this. yeah your right audi need pick up there game in some areas of car features
Have you tried rebooting the MMI, there's a few videos on UA-cam on how to do so 🤔
This guys knows nothing
*Amazing car absolutely love it!!!*
Very nice car. 👌 That being said, anything ten years old with over 120 clicks on the odometer is going to need some tlc.
Autovlog Great Video if I owned an RS7 I would definitely hate those things as well and I hope some of them can be fixed
Complaining about the adapter and lack of USB ports on a > 10 year old car is crazy. You want that stuff, don’t buy such an OLD car.
My 2014 Mazda3 had better tech than this car. For 120k it should be cutting edge.
"What the hell is this adapter thing?" and shows an usb cable 😂 I guess that mini usb to audi mmi adapter was meant to play movies from an external DVD player etc. But yes no usb sockets on any of this gen Audis.
Can you discuss the car reliability?
Some cars just don't make people happy by its performance or problems.
I wouldn’t mind seeing another AMG on the channel perhaps trade ?! 🔥🔥
Maybe use the adapter to charge your phone?
Hey Autovlog. If you're wanting USB then you will need to upgrade the MMI system. The USB port only came with the generation of MMI where Android Auto or Apple Car Play can be used. I would look to retrofit it
If first world problems was a video. Youd get this.
I have 2016 Audi S6 and I love it !
Well you got stuck with a Swedish massage without happy ending 😂😂😂😂😂 sorry had to say it ❤❤❤
Want to borrow my USB ports on my 2014 Lexus IS350😂😂😂
14’ RS7, the backup camera takes like 2-3 seconds and drives me insane. Also when you open the hatch and a gallon of water falls into the car.
Idk if you can compare but only car I had with massage seats was my 2019 Lincoln mkz and in my opinion was pretty good in that car
I had a 2012 s5 with the same issues plus it was very uncomfortable for distances
I have a check engine light on in my Mercedes. Is that Carly actually good?
I hate how all the seats are in the RS 7’s. All the way up to 2023 hasn’t changed
HATED our 2018 A6 prestige edition Audi. Couldn't get rid of it fast enough.
squeaky brakes are at the top of my list...
Chenyang CY Media Adapter Cable is what you need
Thats called a mini USB, very common in older digital cameras and bluetooth speakers.
Would love to see a W213 E63S AMG in your channel!!! Perhaps time to trade the RS7 for one!!!
What tune is on this rs7 I noticed your redline is at 7k mine is 6800 I’m currently running apr stage 1 tune.
I like how you just took over that road😂👍🏽
