One of the main things I love about your channel is that you are so diverse in your cars! I have been an old muscle car guy over the years (owned a 65 mustang, 65 box nova, 69 442, 70 Mach 1, 70 roadrunner) . I currently have an 11’ Lexus IS F and love it. It’s not the fastest on the road but I know it will run 0-60 in 4.2 stock for 200K miles without any issues. I do my own repair work and you have been an inspiration to me to dig deeper into service on my F. Your video about trans service and the BS about “Lifetime Fluid” got me to do a full trans service on my car and film it for my UA-cam channel to help other F owners. Thanks for all you share!
The lifetime fluid is a bs marketing thing here in Europe we change the fluid and the fluid pan for the trans every 100k miles +-
Modifications are actually upward to 60k on that car. Previous owner said it made 800 wheel when he traded it in and he did not get another car. It's on e85 and methanol.
Why did he take the loss and trade? There has to be a story here.
Which its most likely only has 91-93 octane right now and not E85. Our ATS-V adds 120 whp on E85 so he's really going to crap his pants then 😆🤣😂

@shodmermaid336 Your "guy" must be a cheap fuck then who used a shitty tuner and didn't install an AFR gauge. When done properly its safe as hell. I have an M and AMG on meth and zero issues with either because I paid for good tuning and gauges.

Rs6 are shit when you put power in them like to blow the diff snap shafts etc seen so many fail when you put power in them, rs7 better option

If that thing redlines at 7500rpm then you know it had some major tuning done to it, definitely something completely custom from APR because my 2017 with the 4.0 stage 2 only went to 6800!
My standard A8 4.2 changes at 6800.
2018 stage 2 s8 800hp shifts at 7300rpm
ZenZory Overload my golf does so at 2000rpm and that’s because I do it myself since it’s a manual. Lol

I have a 392 Challenger with a 2.3L Magnuson and it makes some bacon.
I also have a Merc C43 (W205) with a Stage 2 tune and catless DP's.
My itty bitty v6 Merc will slaughter my Challenger from a dig and my Challenger won't even
hook till 3rd. I totally agree the modern performance oriented AWD cars are nuts they're so
fun to drive all year round. In my case the Challenger would need DR's to hook and I'm not
ready to replace the driveshaft and half shafts yet! :)

Man, I've been seeing a lot decent Challenger R/T on sale, but I really want to get the SRT. Do you daily drive yours or weekend warrior? Which trim is best for mods?
@@blackonblack...9244 I used to drive my Challenger SRT8 nearly daily except in winter I drove my Ram. My Challenger has 70k miles on it now. I put the blower on at 58k miles.
If you buy an RT get a Scat Pack. Don't buy a 5.7 get the 392 it's dramatically more power than the 5.7 and bone stock they rip.
If you need it to be a daily and you deal with snow then you are going to need a second set of rims with a dedicated winter tire like a Blizzak. They go perfect in the snow with an actual winter only tire. I didn't want to deal with that, and that's why I have a C43 for my daily.

That’s a great find. I can’t stand “pops and bangs” tunes though. They sound ricey to me. I prefer the natural pops and bangs of an exhaust.

It’s more so DSG than tune. All audis that I had did super quite “pop” when changing a gear. With just an aftermarket exhaust they would make it louder. There’s a good video with explanation called “dsg farts”.

Look out for RS3 sedans, the first affordable used ones should be available soon.
That transverse mounted 5 Cylinder with some APR magic is a riot. And spare parts aren't especially expensive since it is based on the VAG MQB platform.
I'd actually love to see you do something with the 2012 W212 M278 Mercedes E550. I like you love a reliable car and I'd have to say this model Mercedes has so much un tapped potential and would be a great build for the channel since you don't see to many on UA-cam.

Not really - if you leave the comfort mode on it is easy to drive nice and smooth. One of the best aspects of this car.

Alex for moddability and bullet-proof reliability I'd recommend an Audi with the supercharged 3.0L V6!!! There are tunes, pulley kits, dual pulley kits, intakes, headers, etc... available for it. The only known reliability issue with it is with age the crank pulley rubber degrades and causing the crank pulley to come apart. If you replace it ahead of time, you're golden! This was available in the S4, A5/S5, A6 and can be had in the $$$ mid-teens for a clean-sample

Man WHAT a monster car thanks! Here in Europe Audi is not considered to be unreliable perhaps cos the service dealers are better? I ran a 3.2 A5 from 100 to 200k kms with a big smile and no issues and I now have an S4 V8 with 210k kms and she is still real good fun. Cheers Simon
Hey Alex, I would try finding a b6 or b7 gen S4 that has had it's timing chain done. As for reliability with performance on any RS model you're out of luck in the Audi world.
With that pops on the exhaust, it definitely does sound almost like a DSG.
The pops and crackles have nothing to do with the transmission.. That's all down to the software in the ECU.
Now you need to race Samcrac’s RS7 ASAP!

I love these cars. Back a little more s6 and 7. They are more reliable done right replacing all the scrap Bosch components. Bosch is to blame for most German car failures. I don't understand why they don't teach Bosch a lesson and use Nippondenso, Lucas, or Hitachi electronics and teach Bosch a lesson about premature engineered demise and obsolescence.

I just bought APR’s 2017 A4 corporate car used to introduce the B9 stage1 tune. It isn’t close to this car’s performance, but it’s still a looker and a ripper. All bolt-ons, wheels and tune were thrown at it. Supposedly good for 357 on E85 and 317 on 93… What a hoot! It lays waste to my JB4 328i…
That manual looks really nice... would it tell me the best type of sealant to use on a intake mani. from a 01 e430 lol... as far as i found its "not serviceable" but i opened it to clean the whole thing and free up the little doors in there and it looked like a bead of some type of grey rtv on the runners, top/bottom halfs, as well as the throttle body.. have you ever had one of those apart?

B7 you mean. 😉 I used to own an Avant (Estate/Wagon) version years ago. Had it for about 2 years - to this day, still best car I have ever owned (same engine as the R8 of the time!). Broke my heart letting it go, but I needed a bigger estate car and the fuel costs were killing me, so was replaced with 3.0TDi A6 Avant (replaced then again with current BiTDi Avant). Big money on this side of the pond though - still regarded as one of best RS cars ever made.

The B8 S5 with the 4.2 V8 is said to be pretty reliable. The engine was derived from the B7 RS4 so doesn't have the same timing chain issues that the 4.2 from S4-s had (B6 and B7). Then again the 3.0 V6 that came later is super easily tunable but S Tronic is quite an annoying transmission to own. Those breaking are not if but when and what.

The Lamborghini V10 has also had a placement in the Audi R8, RS6, S8 and S6. The 5.2 V10 used in the S6 and S8 is different in several important aspects, namely a less robust crankshaft with a split pin design, cast aluminum pistons, and a traditional wet-sump oiling system, as well as differences in the valvetrain - all of which, combined, result in the much higher RPM red line and specific power output of the Gallardo and R8

RS4s are a real hoot. The Audi version of a C63. Not sure about the later ones, but the 04-05s were prone to warp rotors. They were under braked big time.

On NA cars yes, you are right. But the on turbo cars sticking a little gas in while the exhaust valves are open can help keep the turbo spooling and reduce lag. That said, this car seems a little over kill.
