    I've been throwing cast nets for years, with a lot of inconsistency. I learned a few new pointers from your video that I think will help me make more consistent throws. Thanks man.

    Thank you for taking the time to make this video. The last time I tried to throw a cast net was about 35 years ago. Too bad this video wasn't available then. I would have been throwing nets all this time. I am sure I can properly throw one now.

    Maybe I suck lol I'll use these steps next time I try and use my castnet. Pretty informative. Would be much faster than me catching my bait one at a time like I normally do lol lol

    • @reelcatfishing4479

      It's much faster. I used to use minnow traps and little crappie poles to catch bait but getting used to the cast net really paid off for me and I'm sure will do the same for u man

      I want to catch fish with scales, I don't know how to kill the catfish and clean it , I was told they breath air and take a long time to die......is this true? do they bite? what about the safe way to pick fish up and not get stuck with its fins. can you do this for beginning fisherman grandma's?..........plus i'm only fishing on the shore.

    So many different ways i see on youtube. I've always thrown my 8 ft. like you except for that added two feet of line over the hand. I have tried like other videos tell you to add it, but more like all the way from the bottom (which didn't work for me at all) I'll try the extra couple feet only.

    • @reelcatfishing4479

      @@reelcatfishing4479 Tried it this morning catching mullet before fishing. Well....it seemed to work out adding the extra couple feet. Thing is, i need a new net. Once you start mending it too much, the balance is off, so it was hard to tell. I always cut the sinkers off and use them. i fish at a jetty and loose alot so it doesn't matter cost wise.

    • @reelcatfishing4479
      @reelcatfishing4479  5 років тому

      I have an eight footer that is super heavy because of the how many weights and how close they are together. It falls much faster than the lighter eight footers with less weights. I think my eight footer is almost 1.5 pounds per radius foot. I'm going to do a video Thursday on how to throw it. I think you will like it. Probably the simplest way anyone could ever throw a net and it opens up every single time.

    • @patrickmcmullen1190
      @patrickmcmullen1190 5 років тому

      @@reelcatfishing4479 Sounds like it's a fairly expensive net...not walmart. I can only afford walmarts each time i need one. Are you talking 8 foot as in radius?!

    • @reelcatfishing4479
      @reelcatfishing4479  5 років тому

      It's 8 foot from from one end to the other when it's opened up all the way. And yes these nets are a little more expensive around 75 bucks for one that will last and not tear easy. I saved up for mine and I'm glad I did as I spend alot less time catching bait. Not saying anyone has to get a bigger faster falling net just saying that it does catch more bait and faster so it might be worth it to someone to save up and invest in
