God has blessed this man!. No other person on this earth 🌎 gets excited over throwing a net. Or any other thing he does, especially landing a big big bass! Whew Son!
Thank you Roland for showing how to throw a 10 foot cast net. A 10 footer is the next size I’m going to.
Roland is twice my age and can throw a net like a bad ass!! Legend
to me you and jimmy are the most inspiring people on the planet
Thank You for continuing to share your wisdom with us. You've been my favorite Professional Fisherman since I first saw you back in the 1980's. The park rangers and game wardens here in Florida have all nicknamed me "The Bassinator" I tell them that Roland Martin taught me how to catch Lunker Bass!! :~) P.S. Whenever they see my Truck they stop me or come find me to check my catches, I normally Bank Fish or Wade with the Gators, they all want to see if I got any Lunkers that day. rofl
Thank you sir. Ive been watching you fish since i was a little kid. Always the best
Legend.Roland is giving away generational information for free.Class is in session.
Great video Roland! You showed me how to save my teeth and not to drown! Loved it.
Good Morning from Southern NJ!! I'm just learning how to throw a cast net. I haven't tried the backhanded method yet. Thanks for making this video, Roland! I'm definitely gonna give it a go!!!
i tried everything elae and Rolands method worked great !! Thanks
Roland thanks for all you do I’m never disappointed, always packed with info I can use . But a big thanks fir this video , I had given up trying to throw a net , never successfully been able to throw a net . But I’m going to give another try . My fishing club thanks you also .
Nothin' fancy. Just pure content. Thank you, sir!
Good stuff Roland. You got my praise as a living legend! Fish on son
Nicely done Roland. My old fishing buddy Mike once threw a net over an alligator. Big mess, big mistake! That net you have is designed really well. I like it. Smiling, George.
I remember watching you kiss bass on TNN when i was just a boy. So glad you're still teaching!
Thanks again for the great instructional video Roland. Going to practice this new method. Hopefully it works better than the technique I use now.
Very cool! never seen you throw a net on a show... guess the lure-peoples get itchy about using live bait huh? Love your 3-Load technique! Works great! THANKS!
Wow Roland thanks for that tip on the cast net around the wrist. God bless you sir.
A lot argue 'it'll slide off if you don't cinch it'-BULL. I make 30-40 net throws a day, most days of the year. Never once have I had it slip off with it like Roland showed-but I've easily let it slip off twice when I had to do so to stay on the boat. Your normal bend of the wrist with the throw holds it from slipping off, or you can bend your wrist purposely. Me, normal bend caused by the throw and the line just happens to drape across the palm of my hand from the heal to the thumb side for me to grasp.
Roland always wants people to learn and enjoy the outdoors
Thanks Roland, I'm gonna get me a net and give it a try. I think I can do it. You make it look so easy. LOL!!.. Take Care!!..
Just bought a new casting net. I'm like Spiderman with that thing. Happy New Year, Roland! 💛
Great Advice Roland, trying mine today!
Thanks for suggesting I really like this type of clip.
Great explanation! Thank you Roland

Awesome Roland .thanks for such detail
Good video. One edit. It’s a 20 ft diameter and 10 ft radius but know what you meant. Wow! Beautiful cast! Going to try this.
This guys got some talent. WOOOO SOOONN
Very nice technique.
Very very impressive. I will try to learn this style of throwing. Looks like it takes less energy to get it out there, than other styles
Best tutorial to date
He’s the best
Great Job Roland!
Great instructions.
Wow, thanks for showing us this and the tip of not wrapping it around your wrist, because that’s what I did….. but not anymore.
Giving the Apostle Peter a run for his shekels 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Seriously, you are amazing. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing 👍🏽 😊
U haven't steered me wrong in the 45 yrs I bn learning from you..I got some bass that I haven't been able to figure out there fancy 😕 yet ..never happened to me before so I'm going this route since WV lifted the ban
Good video thanks
Come on man let's get the show on the road I don't have a whole day! I want to see the perfect circle ⭕ thank you sir 🙏
Great throw 👏
Another great video. 🇺🇸
Thank you sir for all your information sir. God bless you and your family sir...🙏❤🙏❤🙏🙂😊🙂
thank you roland
Thank you.
Beautiful
Great throw, perfect pancake. The way you gathered the net in your left hand wasn't clearly demonstrated. I'm sure there are plenty of other videos for people to watch to get a better idea. Thanks for sharing about the loop of the rope on your hand. Have you ever heard of someone dying from throwing a cast net? Interesting...
Thank you
Thanks
Perfect😊😊😊
Nice throw Roland. Is a good net that important because I've tried some cheaper 6 footers I couldn't even throw well. Thanks!
“Hey, that’s throwing a net!!”
Still got it 👍
Hey Roland! Have you ever fished in Discovery Bay, Ca? I used to live next to Kellogg Creek.
Awesome video, but where am I allowed to use a cast net for fishing?
I’m a right hander and i loaded on my right shoulder today, it didn’t feel balanced..i had not used my net for 12 months. And i cam back to watch this vid..i noticed that Roland loaded on his left...now that rings a bell. Can anyone confirm, us right handers should be loading on our left...that lets us lead the cast with dominant right hand...will give it another go..the prawns are running at the moment, theres a few in the rivers around here...just casting off the pontoon...got enough for a feed today, but every second cast was more a jellybean that a pancake.
.i knew some thing wasn’t right.
Goddamn legend. I'm getting one
Man i can open it up every time intel i get in water about 3 ft idk i do it like no one else does it only way i can open it I don't know if I'm throwing it too hard or what I use a 9-ft mullet net
7:00 This blokes safety features are great...especially the part bout a large loop around ya hand instead of a wet tight noose round ya neck,,,,er,,,,hand
How much for the fishing net and how can I have it
Starts the loading @ 9:00
Mine brand new 15 ft just wacht never trow
10ft diameter covers 20ft radius? im confused or was i taught wrong in math?
I slowed the video down to .25 so as to see Roland's tosses.
He starts after 6 minutes with the tutorial.
If a net is 10 foot long that makes a 10 foot radius, 20 foot diameter and 62.8 foot circumference
You make it look easy. It’s not! Lol
Damn that dude talks a lot wtf
An expert at complication, should take 2 minutes or less to show this, 10 minutes in and still bla bla bla,....
This man waisted 12 minutes talking nonsense.
I throw 14 differing sizes of nets, nearly daily on the salt-excluding the mullet in mid summer. The 10', 12', 14' I throw with the triple load. The 6', 8', 9' I throw with 1/3rd over the same hand I hold the 2/3rds, and 2 leadline tucks.
I have 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch, and 1 inch in the 10', 12' and 14' sizes, all work well with the triple load Roland presented.
10 ft net = 10 ft radius = 20 ft diameter
