Love your content 100k is the least you should have😊
never ever heard of this channel and saw this appear in my feed. Totally stayed for the nicely paced video, fun and exciting narration and great insight into a game i never heard of!!!!!! Subscribed :)
Phil Hendrie rules!
You're at 666k views lmao 😂
We're thrilled to see ye had such a blast playing the game. We've been hard at work developing more end-game content, such as a housing system and better quests! See ye around on the High Seas, mate!
Teams like y’all are gems for keeping games like these alive.
Idk how you’ve done it so far, but keep that bloody game alive!
o7
Thanks for giving this awesome game some love ❤️
Nice! 😎👍
Hey! They're not really talking like pirates. I want to speak to the pirate manager!
This was my first online game and my first "real" game. This was where I learned to type, where I made my best friends and my happiest memories. The best birthday present I ever got was when I sneakily logged on during the day and discovered mom and dad had bought me a VIP subscription. I played for hours every day until they shut the doors and there's a part of me that remembers being twelve years old and roaming the Caribbean as the happiest days of my life. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
That's pretty much me with Runescape, but I still play in some fashion to this day.
Star wars galaxies for me, still the best game ever released in my eyes.
This was me with San Andreas Multiplayer
@@douglasduda9826 There is a ton of SWG Emulators all running different updates, plus some that add new things. They are pretty populated too. Jedi grind was fun for me, the NGE ruined the game by removing condition of items which ruined the played based economy. Same thing happened to vanguard saga of heroes.
It's so weird as an old guy to think someone's first game was an online one, so cool
That is actually a shocking fantastic Jack Sparrow impersonation. It probably would have taken me a very long time to realize that it wasn't Johnny Depp voicing him.
I legit couldn't tell at first. Very well done
i had no idea until he had mentioned it. even now that i know i almost still cant believe it lmao. it really is good!
I played this back when I was a kid, was sad to learn they shut it down. The guys keeping it alive again are doing God’s work
They're fighting the good fight, for real. They fixed a good chunk of the gaps between terrain you can fall through and made fishing actually work. Solid devs and will support whatever they do from here on.
@@kennethern1232just hope this happens to school of dragons 🥹
you mean they doing Pirates work :D
if its anything like the other Disney game remakes, its full of pedos and scammers
@@austiniscoolduh Been playing it for a while. It's actually pretty slick, and most people on it played back in 2006 so it's mostly ordinary adults.
I had absolutely NO idea that there was a Pirates of the Caribbean MMO, holy molly.
Disney doesn't want you to remember either, because then everyone will remember how good things used to be
lol@@FlamespeedyAMV
Ya it came out WAY back like 15ish years ago but eventually got shut down and now it’s back! It was such a great game
You must not be very old then!
it's goated
Now this is nostalgic. I used to play this game in 2009.
Did it have a long lifespan?
@@ajxx9987 nope
I played very early never made it far xD
Me tooooo :)
This game was great, and I was happy to see that Sea of Thieves did a collab with Pirates as it gave me the warm fuzzies back to this game. I'm glad to see someone trying to save this game like the groups did with City Of Heroes after NCSoft shut down it's servers and refused to sell the code. Just further proof a good game won't die easily.
It was always comedy gold. I liked this game a lot as a kid. I lolled when Goldtimbers invited you to his guild. He was a long time pillar of the POTCO community for YEARS. Of course he's already level 50 again, and wearing his old outfit.
This game was the original Sea of Thieves for me as a kid. I loved going to the parlor and playing poker. There was just something about playing inn games while a whole in-game world was living and breathing around you that made it a unique experience. Unfortunate that a lot of modern MMO's don't understand the magic involved with that.
This man just unlocked so many memories I had no idea I had
Same
This game was amazing back in the day. The ship combat was so fun and the weapons were really awesome and varied. The fishing mini game is to this day still my favourite of any game.
The fishing music is transcendental.
You just propelled probably a couple hundred people to get into this game. Made me want to play it until I realized I’m not into this gaming, and you’re so good at pulling me in that I was even planning out my name… you’re good.
He is good. The fact I played this back when it came out also increased the allure... the nostalgia is STRONG. But... I'm just not an MMO guy, anymore. It's too much of a timesink.
i remember grinding this game so much. i also remember the glitch to get into the fort where no soldiers would spawn in and just walk around. man, this game was bomb
Kingshead hide-'n-seek!!!
kingshead but also the padres del fuego glitch to skip the entire dungeon that lead to the darkhart boss
Oh god, I remember that glitch! And standing behind the fence to throw grenades at the Veterans in the yard!
Looks so much fun and way ahead of its time for a 2007 game
Bruh, *Crysis* came out the same year this game did. Even for 2007, Pirates Online looks incredibly dated.
@@Psythik Crysis was not an MMO. Unlike MMOs, Crysis did not have to render multiple players in an open world. Even by today's standards, all we have is Sea of Thieves and that game looks cartoonish for a reason. If you want an example of an MMO made with Cry Engine, you can take Star Citizen for example, a buggy mess with no release date on sight.
@@FutaCatto2 Aion Online was also made with Cry Engine, and lord did that game have problems. Sieges would lag the entire server. You had to turn off viewing other player characters in cities and at sieges if you didn't want to lag.
This game was my childhood mainly because I was obsessed with pirates of the Caribbean at 7 years old and still love the movies
this is clearly upscaled
This was an absolute blast when I was a kid. it was the saddest moment when it was shut down. what a gem
Disney has no reason to shut it down, they make trillions
@@FlamespeedyAMVyeah but if they had to pay for all these old game servers then they only make 86.99 billion in revenue when they could make 87.01. They gotta make that .02 percent somehow (this is all sarcasm,
fuck disney)
the team behind this game is by far the BEST fan dev team on the 7 seas. they have been adding NEW CONTENT to the game that was CUT from the original, back in its intended glory, PLUS AI fixes and loading fixes, events, new items and weapons, all originally intended to be in the full game but cut due to lack of care by disney! this is worth your time to play, if only to relive the magic that this game offered in its glory days. very grateful to team TLoPO
I was very very young at the time and had no Idea what I was doing whatsoever but let me tell you I loved every single second!
Thank you for covering this! Pirates Online was an integral part of my childhood and I had no idea it was revived like this! Thanks for not only drawing this to my attention but also for introducing this to a wider audience, see you all out there!
Wow. This really looks like an MMO that I might even enjoy! How could I have missed this?
because it was shut down, i cant believe its back
it was shut down for so long and recently it looks like they just finished the beta !
try sea of thieves
@@raven3946 sea of thieves is super boring compared to this lol
First Quest: "Find the Rum."
For anyone watching there is a decent amount of end-game content to do in this game (both original and added by tlopo). It is quite a grind to get there tho. Playing with a guild and doing random stuff is really fun though! I come back to this game every few months, hopefully i see some of you on the seas :)
Coming from a guild in the game 🏴☠ - your dive into this is not only entertaining, but genuine! Nice to see that you enjoyed covering this treasured (no pun intended) game. 👍 Fair winds!
It's nice to see that so many MMOs have returned from the grave in the wake of their eventual closure. Seeing you play this and Warhammer: Age of Reckoning in an earlier episode was greatly enjoyable. I've debated about checking this game out long ago before it closed, since there's not a whole lot of Age-Of-Sail style games and RPGs out there, and sometimes I just get that itch to be a pirate that needs scratched.
So glad this game is getting the recognition it deserves. Very underrated MMO.
This video is giving life back into the game! Me and my friend started playing and saw players everywhere of all sorts of levels! We even got to participate in a world event with the whole server, it's been a janky but great experience so far. A lot of charm in this game!
I remember my aunt being really into this game and playing it with me when I was a kid. This feels very nostalgic.
Always makes my weekend when a Mitchmanix video drops. Great video as always😊
great video! i wasn't sure what to expect as a first-time viewer, but i was actually impressed with the writing! happy to see you enjoyed your time on TLOPO!
My brother and I use to be OBSESSED with this game as kids. So many great memories with this game!
I remember, as a kid, getting in with a ship crew that were much more experienced than I in the game. I felt so lucky that each time we went out on the sea I was getting so much experience and money. It was a little moment of childhood MMO magic that I remember being so excited about. I had similar feelings when I would find friends in Toon Town as well.
I remember playing this back sometime between 2007 and 2009. Little fuzzy on exactly when, but I was just a boy back then. For me, it's like baby's first MMORPG. The nostalgia from playing the remake is absolutely cathartic, especially since now I can actually progress more in the game than I ever could. The original POTCO had this dumb subscription system and no stores around me ever sold the little gift card things, so the furthest I ever got was somewhere around getting the voodoo doll. I only wish there weren't a max of like 300 people online when I get on the game, I remember Port Royal being filled with dozens of players each either killing NPC's, chatting, helping newbies... now I'll see another player maybe once every 30min and most of the time it's just a brief encounter going opposite directions. Huge thanks to the team behind TLOPO for bringing my childhood back within reach. Also, let's be very clear: I chose this game over Skull and Bones, Sea of Thieves, and even replaying Black Flag. Loving it!
I think the coolest part of playing in its prime was the Jolly Roger Invasions. When the sky would turn green and creepy music starts to play as the announcement of Jolly Rogers coming in 30 minutes was so rad! And the peak was seeing SO MANY people in one place, all lining the way up to Elizabeth's Manor to defend it from the undead army! It was one of the coolest experiences I've had in any game really! Glad to see you gave it some spotlight and so excited to try out the rewritten version of it!
Loved this game back in the day, i remember unlocking the voodoo doll was a huge achievement for me. i think i got too around level 40 before quitting, man i was so young back then
Dude!!!! I LOVED this game for a while back in like 2012. Played it in college between classes. What a nostalgia trip
Such a blessing seeing content creators like you make videos on this game. Thanks for visiting our little community.
Two of my fondest memories of this game are that one time when the invisible walls bugged out and I was able to swim from one island to another. And another time when I somehow fell off the ship mid combat.
This was one of my favorite games as a child, and I'm glad to see it's still going strong.
Falling out of the ship was most likely part of an invincibility glitch, if you did it right you could be invincible
You never fail to make me cackle out loud Mitch, the scene with dancing Francis was great 😂
I played this game recently! Was such a nostalgia trip. Game crashing bugs and unoptimized lag and all lol. Not Legend's fault, it was the original content XD
I remember getting so mad as a kid because I just wanted to play a little before my dad caught on that I wasn't doing homework.
i damn near broke the family computer trying to play this game as a kid
Something was really unique and captivating about this game. Was it because I was a kid? Was it just one of those games that simply stood out? Yes yet how does one replicate these experiences... ?
I remember beta testing the game. It was like an open beta or something. Had a lot of fun with it
Oh nice to see this game again. Played a whole lot of what I could on the free version
All the premium content is free now since its a fan server
I played the original game back in 2007 and it was crazy that they shut it down. The Legends of Pirates Online is a testament to how passionate the fanbase is, to the point where the community rebuilt the game back up again and released it for FREE. It's still one of the best pirate games ever made.
With the remake a lot of the bugs have been removed and also new features have been added by the moderators, it's great to see.
The game is a lot of fun and pretty hilarious at times. I have to agree that the land-based content can seem a pretty grindy, but if you play with other people, it's a lot more engaging. The ship combat on the other hand is absolutely BONKERS. LOL. Especially if you have a busy servers and most people are out at sea engaging in ship combat, it's insane and awesome how crazy it can get. lol. Great times for sure.
The player numbers have never really been super high, it's really more of a fan project for the passionate fans of the original game, but if you can get a group of people to play with, it can still be a lot of fun. 💪
Any random addition of Donnie Thornberry screaming as a sound effect to something in the video will result in confusion (a possible rewind) followed by a fit of laughter.
Thanks I needed that 🤣.
This, Neopets (and the 30 other clones Gopets, etc), Toon Town Online, Puzzle Pirates, Roblox and Millsberry Online were my literal Childhood. Probably some other older ones too like Newgrounds, Torn City, Alien Adoption, Die2nite etc.
Oooo and Adventure Quest, Mech Quest and the other spin offs lol. Also OG Runescape lol
No wonder I love Sea of Thieves now :)
I think this, Galleons (An OLD ASS Roblox Game) and the Sid Miers Pirates really shaped my Love for Space/Spaceship and Ship/Ocean Games
How i never heard of this game thanx 😮
Same wth???
The name "Flounder of Doom" implies your ship is going to immediately sink catastrophically.
This was my first video of yours, had a lot of chuckles, and after playing Sea of Thieves today this was a nice fit, thank you!
This is what Sea of Thieves should've been
I agree. It’s too frustrating to play. And that is coming from someone who was maxed out.
I played pirates of the burning seas back in the day, but this look cool too
POTBS is still going, and still fun!
Man, brings back so much memories, I played this as a child with my brothers, one of my bros was extremely addicted to it and maxed out several characters lmao, we always talked about how bummed out it was that it got shut down, then we found the re upload of the game several years later and tried it, brings back so much nostalgia but we couldnt play it for long for obvious reasons lmao.
Just found this channel cant wait to binge watch all of these other old mmos i vaguely remember playing!
I really really love this game, never got to far because I would always get lost or there was to much stuff that required multiple players and the servers wernt always too full back in the day. I'll GUESS I'll just give it another go. THANKS ALOT
Captain Bicard iandcoke is a right character, has some crazy agility right there, and orders a water?! 😂 Elizabeth is a bit... creepy haha! So many parts of this video made me LOL, a classic, quality MitchManix video, absolutely love it! ❤ Will keep an eye on this game for sure
Oh wow I used to play this way back in the day. I had 100% forgotten it even existed, thanks for the trip back in time!
Surprisingly balanced and fair for a review so tongue-in-cheek; I give you respect
Since we are on a fan revival kick and this is also a Disney game. Try Toontown Rewritten
And corporate clash!
This man is old school with the comedic timing..........sucks not that many youtubers are putting this much effort on their videos like Mitch
Dam had no idea this came back, this was the best pirate game for so long
This is the greatest game I've ever played. So many unforgettable memories and friends made over years of playing and growing up at the same time.
thank you for shedding light on this, i love playing these games that i grew up with.
its truly a blessing to see this, need for speed world, and runescape still up and going in 2023.thank you to the ones that worked hard giving us this nostalgia trip.i will be playing later tonight just to remember some old times
Mitch, may I recommend you try out an old classic that was a hit in South America: Tibia. It's a classic old MMO from the late 90s that is STILL holding strong somehow.
Fri itens?
I love how the only movies established characters actually look decent, where everyone else is an NPC in Tomb Raider 3
YOOOO THIS WAS THE CRAZIEST BLAST OF NOSTALGIA. I remember playing this game, but I had completely lost track of it until today. Thanks for reintroducing this banger to my life
Sea of Thieves better watch out, there´s a new player in town... XD
PS: Have you ever considered checking out Enderal? It´s an amazing rpg that gets nowhere near the attention it deserves
Added to the list :)
I love how the "pirate code" says its unsportsmanlike to use guns on living humans, but totally fine on undead and animals.
Edit: Oh! And cannons are fine as long as you are shooting at another ship. Doesn't matter that you are essentially using a big gun on living humans, those humans are on a boat and deserve whats coming to them!
That's because this game was developed back in the day where it was still heavily frowned upon to shoot other humans in games. Everyone used to crap on GTA because of how violent they were. And with how much of it is in games today, people wonder why there's school shooters and nutjobs who are all under the age of 25. It's because of this!
Yeah, can't shoot ppl in game, but blowing them up with grenades is fine.
I played this for one single afternoon at my grandparents house as a kid, and for some reason have a fond memory of it. It popped in my head the other day and now i see this. Thanks for telling me all about it
Man me and my brother played this game in beta in like 2006 all the way until it shut down. At first it was pretty barren and extremely bare bones. There used to not be a looting aspect so essentially the sword you started with and the gun were the only 2 weapons you could obtain. Eventually they changed it and added in different armor you could change, and different weapon models that dropped from NPCs. It definitely wasn't pushing the envelope of MMO gameplay but it was entertaining enough that it kept us playing. I'm really happy to see someone brought it back
So glad this video came across my feed. I had no idea that this game had been revived. A game that I remember having had so much fun with I'm going to go back and start playing it again right now
i remember grinding so much as a kid to buy the 2nd or 3rd ship option just to find out you needed to be a member to get them (i think it was 10 plus years ago lmao)
Dude I was just thinking about this game lol. This game and Star Wars the Clone Wars Adventures were two of my first RPG style games, and my gateway "drug" to SWTOR. I vividly remember being too young to really understand what I was supposed to do in the game, and just killing the undead pirates over and over again lol. Great content, my man!!
I loved this game back in the day. Just the concept of having sea battles AND land battles and even having BOTH when you boarded an enemy ship was incredible for it's time and honestly, I haven't really seen it done since. It was amazing. It was also the first MMO I played with an active battle system, aka where you wouldn't just stand next to each other auto-attacking and using a skill once in a while, but where you could run around and manually attack while fighting. And while the remake does have some technical issues like lag and some bad AI it's really, really cool that it exists again.
I played this game back when it first released. I was in middle school. I LOVED this game. It was the kind of mmo I was looking for at that time, since WoW was too pricey for my mother. I hadn't yet discovered RuneScape(that'd be 08 for me). I haven't yet tried the revival, but I watch the videos and they all look really fun. Like the old times.
I remember being 5 years old and playing this game. Truly one of the most nostalgia I have experienced in a while. Thank you.
Man, my brother and our friend played this all night as a lan party when it first came out, it was a blast lol
This was my very first online game. It will always hold a special place in my heart. And I never got to finish it.
This was the only game I played growing up. Played legends a couple years ago and the team has done a wonderful job getting everything set up the same.
Played this game ages ago. Strongest memory of it was a group of people all with voodoo dolls storming some fort and thinking the doll was nuts.
my favourite part of this game was fishing for the legendary beasts. i was obsessed with atlantis at the time, so there was something magical about the deep dark sea and the possibility of fantastical monsters within them.
I remember playing this as a kid back on windows XP lol. It was so cool to play a pirate MMO. Awesome that people are keeping it online
I used to play this so much as a kid and when I saw they were restoring it I had to go on a month binge playing it. Was fun as hell.
This actually looks pretty cool
This was one of those games that I really wanted to play when I was young, never got around to it but it's nice to see a review on it more than a decade later.
Woah, this was a nostalgia hit. I don't know when I played this game, but I know I did. Been so long... Glad to hear the community still kept it alive.
Just gave me flashbacks of playing games on the Disney Channel website as a kid
I still remember naming my character John Fisher just because its sounded like a name from the late 1700s :)
So happy that this game came back! Played it when I first got internet around the early 2009 and I was amazed by this game! I even lost my pirate from not playing for over a year but the friendly customer support helped me get him back! I guess there's no way to get my old pirate back a second time? 😅
I played back in 2008 originally, tried this out in December 2022, and got even further into it the other day. I missed this game so much!
I played this game as a child! Totally forgot it existed, but I remember this Disney game taught me to play it's Blackjack minigame fairly well...
lmao Mitch joined the same guild I'm in, and got invited by the guildmaster himself!
I used to play this game on Windows back in the day when I was in middle school when there were no gaming videos on UA-cam and you had to figure stuff out on your own you kids got it easy nowadays 😂
I remember trying to play this as a kid, my computer couldn’t handle it graphics wise and was never able to get the game to work. 16 years later, I might have to try again 👍 great video.
Showing off one of my childhood games! I love this! Thanks!
So many fond memories playing this as a kid! This video brought back a lot of memories
I remember this game. It was so much fun. I feel like it was ahead of its time looking back on it now.
I played this when it came out man this brings back so many memories plus i didn't realize how long it has been since then .
played this game for many years when it came out and ive been playing tlopo for a few years now its such a great game highly recommend. the community is amazing too.
Used to play this all the time with my dad. Thanks for posting
I remember playing this a few years after release, shortly after I found myself playing Free Realms which is another nostalgic mmorpg both are staples of my childhood.
Love your vids Mitch keep up the great work!
