- I answer some very good questions received on my previous video on how to use Symbicort ( • Turbuhaler (Symbicort)... ):
What happens if you make a mistake when priming the device and you hear two clicks? Would that give a double dose or an overdose? Should the powder have a taste - i cannot feel anything when taking it, is it broken? Can you still use the inhaler if the dose counter shows 0 and is in red but the powder inside still rattles? Good idea to clean the mouthpiece before putting the cover back. Is it normal for the mouthpiece to rotate/twist and does this block the inhaler? For how long do you need to take Symbicort? Is it normal for the dose counter to seem stuck after a few doses were taken? Can you stop taking Symbicort for a few days if you are feeling better?

What I am not understanding is that the MOUTHPIECE can be ROTATED but there is no explanation WHY this is so, nor any instruction with regards to using it. Any explanation? Thanks.

If you read the the turbuhaler pamphlet that comes in the box in some cases it actually contradicts the information provided in this video. I would recommend speaking to your pharmacist or reading your pamphlet.
The pamphlet says:
The sound you hear when you shake the inhaler even after it reaches 0 is the drying agent in the inhaler and not medication. It also states that you can never get more than 1 dose, however, if you load the turbuhaler without inhaling, the dose indicator still moves on. This means that the '0' will reach the middle of the window before the turbuhaler is empty and it will require replacement earlier than expected- even when the inhaler is out of medication you can still hear the drying agent or what sounds like a powder when you shake it.
I heard that the sound you hear when you shake it is infact a separate powder drying agent and thus has no bearing on dose left in the unit.
Hi there, thank you for these videos. I have a question, my neurologist prescribed this medication not for regular use, but to use when I need it. I was using previously Seretide and my lung function was very good (I was using it once a day and often forgot to take it). Is it also used this way, for self dosing just when you need it?

Same. I avoided using it regularly for almost 4 years - wish I had accepted my fate sooner. After getting my head out of my ass and deciding to use it as prescribed.. Just a month of consistently using it has been a gamechanger for me. Budesonide saved my lungs

Ive been on ventolin and beclate sice i was 6 years old, i landed up in hospital with viral pneumonia recently. The doctor there put me on symbicord to test out for 6 months. Do i still take the ventolin with the symbicord inhaler?

First time i bought it I didn't know how to use it, and I spinned all the doses from 60 to zero all together.
Now I only see the red zero sign.
Is all doses are gone ?
Or it's just the meter and the inhaler is still full of 60 doses ??

The instructions say turn it fully then turn it back and it clicks. But a lot of times on one turn it clicks. Does that mean it’s loaded or do I click again?

Hi. I turned my inhaler clockwise and it clicked then as instructed I turned it counterclockwise and it clicked again. Does this mean that I got two doses and I do not need to take my two puffs?

For your viewer who asked about continuing to use his symbicort because it rattles abserlutly don’t use it as it’s now empty the only reason it rattles is due to the drying agent built into the base of all tubohalers I use bricanyl as one of my SABA options ( helps me a lot for viral induced asthma tbat I’m getting over now but my device rattles too ( my opinion and practise as a sever asthmatic is simply as soon as you start your last device go to the pharmacy to order and pick up your replacement script that way there’s very little chance you’ll forget and leave yourself caught without treatment. What happens when it gets to zero how do I know that it is empty since it is tasteless? Does it keep clicking until it doesn’t click anymore and it’s empty?
my symbicort inhaler didnt seem to be arming a dose so i saved it got a new one wieghed it the one was not working because it was o.9 grams heaveyer than the new one
??? Is it supposed to whistle when we do it right? What if we can't get the whistle?
It happen to me a lot to accidentally drop a turbuhaler during the twisting, and usually can fall quite hard on a floor. Turbuhaler can be slippery and I afraid that the fall might broke something inside that can messed up the dosage. Unfortunately for me that mostly happens at the beginning of using the new turbuhaler so its tricky to get a new one because doctor can proscribe the pharmacy to give you once in a month (that's the law in my country). Two times I felt something is wrong, so the first time, I stopped using it a get myself a new one (luckily it was at the end). This time, it fall during the first dose and I dont know it is me imagining stuff or there is really some internal damages happened during the impact with the floor. Dust is not visible and do not have a taste so I can be sure. By the outside look nothing has changed. I dont think that Pharmacist can help me in that case.

Is it dangerous to smoke cigarettes while taking sympbicore and blue inhaler minutes after hours days eft exp I take medication 5 minutes later I have a cigarette is that bad increasing the effect of the cigarette thus making it worse for my lungs should I wait a certain period of time if I must have a cigarette
I hear the click from the first twist as I can see in many videos the ppl make one twist and when they make the next twist and hear the click they inhale it.....

not really, if the dose counter is down to 0 you would need a replacement- likely the powder you hear is an excipient not the actual medication
How do I know when medicine gets over.when it shows redline we should stop using this inhaler

Have there been any questions/complaints about Symbicort expiry date 08/2024? I'm starting to wonder if the container is missing the ingredient. For past 3 months, feeling very winded, as if I didn't use it. Also the packaging has changed over past few months. Used to have a protective seal and now does not.
I just bought one. This inhaler is absolute crap. I have used others and there's no question it worked. There is no indication this inhaler is working. I don't think it is.
In using cymbicort for the first (new) to twist it clockwise but the problem i cannot twist it clockwise so to start i twist it counter clockwise to start it using opposite to what it is being demonstrated pls advise tnx dominador viray

I have chronic cough due to laryngopharyngeal acid reflux. Dr gave me this inhaler for 6 months to use when it is necessary. Sir will it relieve my cough
sometimes doctors will give you medications to try as that may help confirm a diagnosis depending on your response to treatment. I would suggest following your doctor's advice, as they have seen you and would be in the best position to give you advice.
My symbicort inhaler is in the red and i can hear the powder inside if i shake it. But then if i load it again and tap it out on the table i can see powder still actually comes out so im not sure its even working correctly. It seems like a terrible product to be honest
I do not have asthama rither i have some lung infection,but gave me symbicote does this medicene prevent asthama.....
