I saw these other video when he said he would keep the engine pretty much stock. I’m like nah man you can’t have that beautiful NSX with 200hp. I’m like hell naw it gotta be powerful to match the body
So glad I found this channel. First off you’re building my dream car, but the fact that you’re ocding the crap out of it is sooo freaking satisfying idk what to say other than thank you and I hope this build is rewarded at a sema show at some point. Unless it already has and I missed it. Keep up the amazing work you are awesome. Ps. If it’s in the budget cerakote the engine
I love that you bang videos out quite quickly... some people do this big builds and you're waiting over a week to then watch no progress, but then the videos are longer... I quite like the more frequent, shorter length videos as it feels like it's being done in real time and you're really along for the ride
Your quality control never ceases to amaze me. I can’t remember exactly what video it was but it was your first time tearing apart and transmission and there was some hiccups along the way and learning experiences. Now you just tear them apart and rebuild them like they are nothing and i’m so happy to see that. You are one hell of a man devin
If you ever upgrade the gears, go with 1-2 dog gears from PPG and 3-4 forged Helical gears from PPG... All syncro engagement... Its the PERFECT setup for a street RWD or AWD Honda.. Can launch hard af and bang the crap outta 1-2 and then you have 3-6 all helical but a strong 3-4 for pulls.
Dude, you got an instant subscriber. I LOVE the attention to detail you've put into this build, it's going to be insane when it's finished. Also love that you're giving a second life to such an iconic car, send you my best from Argentina! Keep it up!
Man is beautiful to see things done right and the attention to detail. I see lots of people bolting new parts to dirty or rusty parts. This level of restauration is what makes the car be new at the end of the build and it will feel like it. Love the way you do things and also love JDM's and NSX is one of my all time favorites so loving this series
I believe you quick refurbishment is gonna be a complete restoration on all the mechanical components, love it.just keep doing what you do best.be safe, take care of yourself.great video 😎😎😎👍👍👍
You really should invest on a Vixen surface treatments Aquablast vapor blasting machine now that you're restoring cars more often than just modifying them. You really should check out the results on aluminum parts! It's a little bit expensive of a machine (8-12k) depending on the size but man this machine is a piece of art!
@@waymenlawrence2064 He sprayed clear cerakote over the block. This does not hide the imperfections like spraying aluminum colored cerakote did on the transmission case.
absolutely stunning, cant wait to do some tlc to my track car this winter i finally got the shelby back from paint. i need to make some room for a stove in the garage that powder coating shit gets me everytime...
I love your video man took the time just say I appreciate the time and effort of every video you put out ‘& to get a glimpse of your own life as a car builder and preferences of how you see what works and what doesn’t how to direct the problem a lot of the video you made me inspire to also to goo down the path for cars happy holidays 🎉
Hey if exhaust/turbo clearance is an issue at all I’m working on producing an exhaust manifold for the k24z engines. Saves a lot of space on the hot side. Perk is that the k24z engines use the same pistons and rods as the k24a. The head when ported also outflows the standard k24. Oil pump swap is a must though
Devin have you ever thought about investing in a Aqua Blasting machine, i've seen really oily skanky engine and gearbox cases coming out looking like new.
Devin is the only dude I’ve watched tear motors/transmissions apart and it blows my mind how someone could know all the intricacies boy I could never lol
I’ve done a few of those transmissions and the easiest way that I have found to put the gear set in with the shift forks and everything is to assemble it on the bench on its side and then pick it all up as an assembly and set it down into the case.
I'm in the middle of doing a similar build on my k series 5-speed. Mfactory LSD, synchrotec carbon synchros, and new bearings . Also waiting on a new 2nd gear as mine was pretty beat up. While waiting, I decided to start cleaning the transmission case. I spent hours degreasing/ aluminum brightening and could not get the stains out. Ended up just painting it with cast aluminum paint which is something I was hoping I could avoid 😂
I think a stock like transmission is the best fit for this classic nsx. Modernizing it too much would seem out of place unless it was a full on sema build
You definitely should invest in straight cut gears, Our K series got glass gears and unfortunately do not like boost Lol. It should hold but might grenade from too much power
I never comment on anyone's youtube page. I've been watching your content from beginning to end for the NSX (as a former NSX owner myself). Just stop with the clickbait thumbnails and titles. Your hardwork and detail orientated content is good enough!
wow! i did almost the same work on my transmission. except i didnt blast it, only used alu cleaner, also i zincplated and yellow passivated myself, so the finish didnt end up as good as this haha!
Hate to tell you, but those diff bearing are shot now. Go ahead and replace them. Look up brinelling while you're at it. It's a major cause of premature bearing failure.
Lmfao I was going to see what method you were gonna use to get the bearings out but I didn’t want to offer I just drop them at work to get them out it’s so much easier 😂😂😂
got to love when Devin says quick and we all know by now its going to be a year full build 700 hps moon tune Kswap NSX
And it’s worth watching every second of it 😂
I saw these other video when he said he would keep the engine pretty much stock. I’m like nah man you can’t have that beautiful NSX with 200hp. I’m like hell naw it gotta be powerful to match the body
And we are all here for it haha I like the long builds better then the short ones
Cam would be so proud well done bud your work is a art
He’s up there looking down proud as ever. 😇
This is no longer a car, its a piece of Art

Was also going to mention this!!! Sreten from m539 restorations on UA-cam uses it and makes his engine components SUPER MINT
@@FillTheWoodb i also got to know about this machine from sreten. Recently the car care nut got one for his workshop.
Nice to see a build where its not just a body kit and a wrap like most channels and the man does everything himself.😂
Rip Cameron much love🤙🏼
Transmission looks great. Since you're waiting on engine parts, you might want to go ahead and paint the engine block as well.
The engine block is painted
He clear coated the engine
@@waymenlawrence2064 He sprayed clear cerakote over the block. This does not hide the imperfections like spraying aluminum colored cerakote did on the transmission case.
Recover well! Also the project will be turning out super good!
You need to get yourself a vapor hone. Cleans up easier and leaves a durable shiny finish right out of the cabinet.
absolutely stunning, cant wait to do some tlc to my track car this winter i finally got the shelby back from paint. i need to make some room for a stove in the garage that powder coating shit gets me everytime...
Your attention to detail is always seem excellent. Your cinematography and sense of timing has definitely improved.

Work of art!🏁💯
Beautiful work dude. Love the attention to detail.

So good content my friend Devin, keep up with the beautifull work!
Sometimes it's just about being brave enough to try.
Keep dropping the heat🔥🔥
The only channel that can get me so motivated to do better with my build, and yet so discouraged lol
This is a quality job!!!! Loved it!
Wow..looks amazing! Feel better...
Beautiful work man!
I really like watching this series😮👍🏽 nice built💪🏽
Good job man! Honda Boyz Lets Go!!!! 💪💪💪
Hope you feel better!
Well there's level and then there's next level. Definitely next level build!!
Devin, stop trying to diminish what this build is. We all know you’re going to go all out!
The man is a gifted builder
This would be me if I had the money to build a car to my liking. That level of perfection is what I love!
Beautiful job!...as always!😅👍💯
I’ve done a few of those transmissions and the easiest way that I have found to put the gear set in with the shift forks and everything is to assemble it on the bench on its side and then pick it all up as an assembly and set it down into the case.
I'm sure bearing engineers would cry seeing this guy hammering bearings in lmao
its a rubber mallet...
And here i am wrestling with my lawn mower carburettor
I'm in the middle of doing a similar build on my k series 5-speed. Mfactory LSD, synchrotec carbon synchros, and new bearings . Also waiting on a new 2nd gear as mine was pretty beat up. That's a nice looking jewelry box!!!
10:00 any specific reason why you didn’t replace the diff bearings when you did the swap?
was thinking the same. it was the best time to go brand new.
Sweet work
So fire
this is the reason why i subscribed to your channel 😎😍
Looks good 👍🏻
Devins builds are unmatched shits wild af
Turned out Great! 😎
Hey Devin I have a question…could you rebuild the engine then spray the silver Cerakote …just a thought
I think a stock like transmission is the best fit for this classic nsx. Modernizing it too much would seem out of place unless it was a full on sema build
Need ur advice- 2012 subaru impreza worth replacing moter with jdm moter? And how hard is it to.do? It's for my daughter need advice l! Please
I’m new to the channel and have been so impressed. How do you know how to do all this? I want to learn.
Trail and error
You definitely should invest in straight cut gears, Our K series got glass gears and unfortunately do not like boost Lol. It should hold but might grenade from too much power
Best thing on UA-cam right now
You need to go to Napa and buy their Napa brand Aluminum Brightener. It works wonders
I never comment on anyone's youtube page. I've been watching your content from beginning to end for the NSX (as a former NSX owner myself). Just stop with the clickbait thumbnails and titles. Your hardwork and detail orientated content is good enough!
You know nothing about creating content. I own a 854k page on IG and ITS NECESSARY to have clickbait in order to keep growing your account
Might as well make it one of the best NSX builds. Full Alcantara interior!
Those syncros in the Rsx transmission go out fairly often, I have a 05 type s and 2nd and 3rd are starting to grind at 100k miles
Minty fresh ✨🤌🏼
You still have D Supra and the Evo 4 on the waiting list...Man.
Supra should be next followed by Evo 4
Nice, Soichiro Honda would be proud of you 👌
You know I loved that kid 😢😢
Inspiring me to zinc plate components on my build
What a beautiful transmission 👍🏻🫡🇵🇪🇺🇸
Can’t wait for the front half of the car to get the same treatment as the rear half👌
front half just needs a polish and buff.
wow! i did almost the same work on my transmission. except i didnt blast it, only used alu cleaner, also i zincplated and yellow passivated myself, so the finish didnt end up as good as this haha!
U should upgrade the gear selector springs and detent springs makes the k series trans feel way better
I went wrinkle red on mine, I like it
Using a aluminum oxide first in the media cabinet followed by the glass would result in a way better finish
Make sure next time you hammer a socket on the outer mating surface of the bearings
best thing happened to that NSX is being touched by Devin! :D
Next build should be an underrated Honda like a Honda fit.
Hate to tell you, but those diff bearing are shot now. Go ahead and replace them. Look up brinelling while you're at it. It's a major cause of premature bearing failure.
You could have blasted the gears to make them stronger, also added a TSX 6th gear for the hwy driving
Kicking Ass! 💯
Im not a fan of sequentials for daily driving. Remember this car was made to be daily driven and track use. Dont forget the daily driven part.
Great build just not sure about using a hammer on bearing.
when are you officially gonna make a Sema build and go?
Gonna be a siiiiiiiiiiiiiick NSX!!!!
You are my number 1 UA-camr. I can’t have you get sick. Stop it. Jk 😂love you bro take some time offffff homie 🎉🎉
Lmfao I was going to see what method you were gonna use to get the bearings out but I didn’t want to offer I just drop them at work to get them out it’s so much easier 😂😂😂
Did you not replace the bearings!? 200,000 on them gona be abit of wesr surely!
Wow😢
Ok, ok, ok...K Swap The World, I get it. I guess Ill ask, what's wrong with the J Series? Why not a J37 with boost?
I remember the first day I saw your UA-cam Vid I knew you was Gold ….
🔥🔥🔥
How about ice blasting ?
blast it with small alloy beads!
sequential would be sick
When is the civic giveaway done
Ahhh, so THAT'S what a 25yo transmission should look like. Good to know
sick
Yo bro, you know you can easily add a 6th gear to the gearset without buying another whole gearset/transmission
Bro, 10:10 and 12:35, you murdered those bearings…..
Buy new ones, replace them!.
Otherwise, Nice.
some love to the front end?
When u watch another youtuber but they out and pull an Bought the crustiest of evos, and your like wait its not yours!
Sema worthy?
🎉
