      Kinda high jacking your comment here to explain what "Suzuki Advanced Comical System" actually means. The big Suzuki GSXR's had the same looking sticker on them saying "Suzuki Advanced Cooling System". The GSXR 50 doesn't really have a cooling system, it's air cooled. But since it's a small replica of the big bikes and they wanted it to to look the same as much as possible, they added that sticker but changed "cooling" to "comical" as a sort of in house joke.

    I believe the Indian Papoose being based on the Wellbike actually makes it a British design by a chap called John Dolphin. He later adapted the Welbike design in to a civilian version called a Corgi and that is what the Indians were licensed copies of. I think.

    The Pigeon is the coolest of the lot. But, it's a copy of a Vespa, including the switch gear. The Trx850 was the best bike Yamaha never sold in North America, but it's not a V twin. The TRX is the parallel twin design that is now the standard out of Japan decades later.
    But these guys know this. Their comments are designed to trigger UA-cam comments to game the algorithm.

    Regarding the the shifter on the Pigeon: About 65 years ago (Yeah, I'm old as dirt), we rode an old Lambretta scooter around on Nantucket Island (Before the island became overpopulated with obnoxious yuppies - when the harbor smelled of fish - and you took an actual steamship to get there) unbeknownst to the owner. (It wasn't theft - we 'borrowed' it.). The Lambretta shifted by twisting the grip just like on the Pigeon. My brother actually got it ripping in 3rd gear before he slammed it into the side of a house just after mowing down a forsythia bush. I'm still riding motorcycles. My brother 'retired' from the sport.

    The reason the 2t feels like there is no compression is that it has almost half less compression than four strokes, but it starts easier.

    • @doktermobiel
      @doktermobiel 4 години тому +1

      That's bullshit. Compression is compression, independent of the cycle.
      When the cilinder is at its top dead center, you're on compression. 2 stroke or 4 stroke doesn't change that.
      The only difference is when the mixture ignites , 2 stroke on every cycle , 4 stroke every other cycle.
      And of course valves working on a 4 stroke instead of transfer ports on a 2 stroke 🤷🏼

  • @briancooper562
    @briancooper562 3 години тому +1

    Well that was fun. A suggestion with the 2-stroke bikes, check the exhausts for restrictor plates at the engine end. Power profiles can be modified by adding a restriction (for noise, power, fuel consumption). The Honda 4-cyclinder 250cc goes back to when the Grand Prix classes had no cylinder number restrictions. At the time when GP bikes (covering all classes) had single, twin. triple, four, five, six and V8 engine configurations.

    About the bore kit on the Harley z50 i want to give out some info for anyone thats interested regarding the engine. So stroke 41.4mm and the 72cc kit makes the bore 47mm. From what i understand the carburettor is either from a c90 or a c100 astrea/ex5. If you want to give it a little bit more pep you can put an 18mm shengway carb(they work great) and a fuego f200/apido r20/takegawa r20 cam shaft

    Theres a guy here in Bedfordshire UK still rides an original monkey from the 70's, He's used it most every day for work, Rain or shine, Only upgrade he made was from the 50cc to the C90 engine and a after-market exhaust thats very quiet, The rest, old school'd patina from top to bottom. He must have hundreds of thousands of miles clocked on that. Those C engines do go on for ever.

    that Yamaha TRX is the best thing you got there. They are great bikes to ride, and that one is in good condition too. Motor is a parallel twin, originally used in the TDM850. For some bizarre reason...it never sold well and got dropped from the range after a couple of years.

    I really enjoyed watching this, find out about the different bikes, both the friendly competition but also helping each other get these going - this was super fun. Merry Christmas from my family to yours. For God so loved the world that he sent his only son …..

    At least where I live monkeys are/were fourstroke which made them kinda special on their category of 50cc bikes. :D I had a bike which had basically monkey motor build into a small "harley" style frame/style and that was kinda funny thing to ride and best thing was that harley guys thought that I was riding a real motorcycle so they waved at me when we drew pass each other. :D

    Difference between me and you guys.. i would have put every bike up on a lift.. cleaned carbs.. charged batteries.. checked spark.. fluids.. brakes.. thoroughly inspected for safety stuff.. made sure oil pumps were working on the injected 2 strokes.. etc.. then got them started.. i mean.. none of them sounded like they were in "ready to go" condition.. it's good they are going to work out.

    I read online that the Suzuki advanced comical system is the company making a joke. The bikes name is the Gag 50. It's a parody of Suzuki advanced cooling system.
