i usually watch your channel for workers and resources but today i watch you play this and i wanna say; keep it coming.... now im interested in this too.
I am now completely invested in watching you succeed, and I still suggest that you , if it’s even possible, to build a second wall parallel to the existing wall or even “ distraction zones” (buildings set up out the compound solely meant to distract incoming swarms .
How about taking all the vehicles that are too damaged to use and line them up outside the wall like Walking dead? Could put them in the areas you seem to get your walls broken all the time.
@@gc3137 blocking a broken wall with a car or two isn’t a bad idea actually… I’m unsure whether they would actually be blocked by them, or just phase through them (since we aren’t inside them). Might be interesting to try out. After video 11, we’ll see
@@CharliePryor Not sure if you done it yet, and you can still do it to see for yourself. BUT just to say, only if you don't like that car! Double walls SEEMS to be the way to go, tons of other playthroughs do this. One playthrough I watched found a bit of a "cheaty" way to play whereby he adapted buildings outside his main area, and the infected are attracted to them instead of his main base. So in that big swarm you just had (and you seemed to had more than the rest I've seen? not sure if that was to do with no army?) he had one squad just pulling them off the distraction building and bringing back to his "killzone". (quite entertaining). Anyway, you were good tactically here, I certainly would have died in your position. Although, I be scav'ing with squads more but it does seem like it takes long to build. So I get your thinking on disbanding them for labour etc. Best, Frank.
Maybe there was a temporal disturbance and somehow Michigan or rather Mt Pleasant was transported to Australia while you slept one night. That would explain why it’s 104° in February and 51° in May
Just a thought, maybe they won't bring the meat if you have less meat then people assigned. You had 6 meat and 9 people trying to get the meat. It would be a stupid bug but maybe that's the problem.
Thank you - Great video! Where do you think you went wrong (if anywhere)? I know there was a balance in the last update but I dont see how you could have less people working on food or scavenging to focus on ammo. The only thing I can think of is to use a smaller modular footprint to start and then build out adding in sections as you go but I dunno man, seems you had the right idea here
Regarding the meat \ cookhouse bug: I wonder if it's a mechanic like in "surviving the aftermath". The workers at a kitchen don't bring in their own resources. You need unstaffed workers to act as carriers to distribute resources. Maybe this game has the same mechanic.
That swarm is terrible, they also must have sledgehammers with them to be able to break through a brick wall with ease, it now makes sense as to why the characters on the walking dead placed spiked defenses on their walls
They are infected not the dead...I hear Charlie making this mistake. They are more of the types from World Z or I am Legend or Last Man on Earth. Strong, agile, able to climb and jump walls. I am guessing, the game just "destroys" the walls but in reality they are probably doing a World Z final scene, when they all climb on eachother to get over the wall.
I just started watching your videos with this game. I think your doing great. Have you had any response to your Tickets from the Devs? I just binge watched all your videos for this game so far and subscribed. Now waiting on the next one.
Definitely looks like theres some balance issues? Although maybe its due to the bugs? Do we know if the seasons changing what month they are is a bug or intended ?
regarding balance, more the amount of time it takes people to move places. Like it shouldn't take more then 15 mins to get from the HQ to the Northwest Tower (closest one) but it took almost an hour
I mean since youre really down on people, you can micromanage the towers, in the daytime you de-crew them and re-crew them in the night, if the raiders come in the day i think it wouldnt be a big problem since theyre relatively small, i might jinx it tho ;)
If you click the people button in the bottom left you can reassign jobs by role instead of going to every building, helps in finding where everyone is assigned e.g scavengers or builders, and can help moving everyone off guard duty in the day and back again at night (I don't think that panel shows barn workers tho)
Watched the whole series so far and I think u should have not built the wall so early on and should have focused more on food and research also a small wall with more gates and towers and focus on ammo conservation will go along way then once u have the means to produce your own ammo you could stop using arrow towers and upgrade to gung ho Charlie mode😊
i know this is late comment but i saw you usually want overwhelming in combat but not overwhelming in agricultural, also we know that you run out of ammo, but 1 tower each side of base weren't enough, try combine 1 metal tower to tanking horde and a lot of cheap tower but behide the metal one (people in night won't do anything so you can let them in cheap tower with "bows", yes bows, maybe 2 bows each not enough but 1, 2, 3 or maybe 5 bows tower supporting the metal with guns can compare to 2-3 gun tower)" the problem is you don't have enough food from fields, that will make you waste "time" to scavenge outside (i know we will do it to find resources but when the game keep going, you should first priority the recycle supply in the base - that's biggest strategy for any building-manage game), the more time you waste outside, the less time you can't build your base, meaning the less secure your base, that will cause your wall and tower break a lot, so you will waste more time to "repair" it, also meaning less time on build your base up, and the time you waste more to find food outside, the weaker of your base. if 10 fields can't make you afford for your people, maybe should try 20 or 30 fields, like the way you want to overwhelming in combat, then if winter come, people in fields job can do science or something else. Btw, thanks for playing the game, i really like it.
@@CharliePryor even making your own buildings either. Not sure if its an oversight or their vision. Aggravating. I'd want to be able to tell the people not fixing the wall that if they aren't done by nightfall, they're on the other side. Food thing isn't making any sense. Why aren't food stores in the cookhouses? So many people & it's crazy how much isn't being accomplished. I want to try this game out, but I don't have enough patience for the shenanigans. lol
A warehouse very close to the cookhouses is ideal, and that’s something I’d certainly do next time. - but the workers don’t have to walk all that far to HQ to get the meat… they just aren’t doing it.
I have to say that until and unless the Devs get these issues worked out, I won't be buying the game. I'm okay with the game ending because I messed up, but when I die because of game bugs or bad mechanics, that's a MAJOR turn-off for me.
Yep, up until these last 2 videos I had no idea how severe the issues were, seems like save corruption is the source of a lot of it. I hope they don't have to scale back features like the dynamic "start anywhere" gimmick, but over a year with a temperature debuff for food, and cooks and builders stuck in a loop not doing their jobs, isn't playable
If u need ammo why dont u get the police station finished can ammo from there for a day and also while ur out hit the store next to it for some food aswell

No greenhouses, no hydro, not even any way to generate electricity as far as I can tell. It needs expanded on. - it’s not even out on early access yet, so give it time
It's funny because I looked at a couple let's plays on earlier builds (three months ago, I think?) and the tech tree actually *had* more items on it, including greenhouses and *hunting*. There was an entire branch devoted to researching undead biology in order to do things like craft lures or research pheremones that make your people less likely to get spotted. The RNG was both kind and cruel dude... Sending such a massive swarm but also having set swarm essentially protect you from the army is amusing.
