Thank you so much for sharing my message and for speaking on this topic🙌🏼For the vast majority of people they don’t know that these celebrities are lying. THANK YOU PEWDIEPIE!!!🙏🏼
This is basically the equivalent of female celebrities denying the smallest of procedures over and over. I hate how when anybody points this out, they get immediately shut down by the fans going “Ok but it’s their body so why are you pressed? They don’t have to talk about it” Well, if they affect their audience’s body image AND make money off lying, then obviously it’s a problem
@@omarpacho630 i prefer the word "imperfect" It shows that Batman is more human and isn't perfect. Pattinson's Batman is a billionaire, but he isn't charismatic and still subjected to depression and mental breakdown, he is phenomenal at fighting but took beating while a lot too, and if it wasn't for his bulletproof batsuit, he would be dead multiple times. Some of his plans work, some don't. Another thing that i prefer the word "imperfect" over "realistic" is that Some people would criticize you for the word "realistic" cuz "Batman is a comic character in a fictional world so why bother with the realism"
@@Commievn I agree, him being vulnerable makes you feel this sense of dread and deepness with the character, that said a badass scary tank batman is pretty cool too.
Most who have trained naturally for many years see through the fitness celebrity lies, but for "unfit" people looking in, they can't tell and it can really mess with some people mentally. Glad Felix is talking about problems like these as this particular topic has been in discussion within the fitness industry for a while, but doesn't easily reach the more mainstream audience
I mean, all you really have to look at sports where they are banned. You'll never see someone that looks like the Rock at the Olympics or on a football team.
@@izJordyGaming at 40 years old you can still decide if you do TRT. It's much different if you're 40 and your testosterone production is massively decreased but want to keep accomplishing or if you're 20 and pollute your body to look like a freak.
The rock and Arnold are not a natural build they even admitted to it. majority of bodybuilder who are bulked to the juice at some point not saying they consistently use but used to get the size. People who have naturally bulked is visible and have worked out for years since they were a kids from doing school team sports usually but again mass majority is juice.
I’m so glad someone who isn’t a “fitness” influencer or creator talking about this because most of the time it stays in the fitness community. Thank you Felix.
Exactly! This is perhaps the most important video Felix has ever made, and i really hope he keeps talking about the realities of the fitness industry. It's about time that people wake the fuck up
Pewdiepie isn't even a fitness influencer and is way better than 95% of the "fitness influencers" on social media. Respect Edit: 95% is a bit of a exaggeration but you get the message.
What no he has the reach and its important that such a big youtuber talks about this topic but the fitnness influencers know waaaaayyyy more. What do u even mean by saying that
My biggest gripe with that is the fact that it skews perspective of everyone. My favourite example of that was when someone said that Jason Mamoa had a "Dad bod" because he wasn't pumped for a month and his 6pack wasn't bulging.
This also reminds me of how female, and also male, but more commonly female celebrities lie about plastic surgery. I remember that one female celebrity who claimed her whole face changed because of Japanese potatoes. It just feels so wrong to see them sell this idea to the young teenagers who idolize them, of just eat like me or work out like me, and buy all my shit, and you'll look like me.
Mfs be promoting the message that be yourself when she herself has done nose jobs, plastic surgery and what not. Who are u trying to fool .. the people or yourself.. but people do believe the words from these hyprocrite
@@hikarinoboruto1617 he is retired, like he doesn't care about ad revenues. Like in fact every day he could be like "I stop youtube" because he makes more money from his side-businesses than youtube.
The real issue is that it’s been going on for so many decades that it has actually skewed the general public’s perception of what a natural physique is.
I remember seeing that picture of Jason Momoa just chilling and people were calling it a dad bod, even when the dude was still buff as hell, just not bulging with veins and 2% bodyfat
@@Miragexe I had to google that now and wtf people are actually stupid. Jason Momoa looks amazing. I'm personally grossed out by overly bulging veins and muscle definition that makes it look like you barely have skin - it looks sickly.
As a person who does enjoy lifting and working out, I appreciate you speaking out on this. The social media fitness culture at this point is peak cancer IMO. Not mentioning how oversaturated it is at this point with influencers and wannabe influencers.
I get celebrities using steroids but I really appreciate celebrities getting called out for being a facade and convincing young people that they can obtain something unobtainable.
Or appreciate celebrities who openly talk about the steroids they use. Like, they probably have a medical guy who makes sure they don't harm themself and not some shady dude in the gym dealing with it under the hand. Should be like with drugs and sex, if you can't stop them, try to educate them, so they don't harm themself.
This is similar to women selling fitness programs when they got a BBL, or celebrities promoting a skincare routine that they “swear by” when they got plastic surgery and get regular professional facial treatments 🤨 Celebrities and influencers need to be more transparent because we are the audience they’re trying to sell to. False advertisement is absolutely wrong and a crime against humanity. Edit; Never said it’s the same thing to steroid usage, I said it’s similar. The point I’m making is that whether you’re a male or female, you can be a victim to false advertisement. Even if you don’t buy their products, it’s not right to make us feel like we didn’t win the genetic lottery. Telling people they’re stupid for “falling for it” is exactly what these companies want, which is to make us feel inferior. Be kind and spread awareness ❤️
It’s not exactly the same thing because you still have to know what you are doing in the gym to get result even if you are on roids. If you don’t know what you are doing you still going to look like shit
“If it looks unnatural then it’s unnatural”. Complete facts. Hopefully this reaches a lot of people! Transparency is key when it comes to any influencer, when it comes to fitness or not. Thanks for being you!
I think he should do one with females influencers too. I know the majority of his audience is men, but I think the hole make-up + photoshop + professional photographers at time is a combination that generates higher standards than they should be. I don't think those influencers should stop posting unreal pics of course, but just like pewds I think transparency, when you have such an audience, matters a lot.
Not going to lie, as a person who has been working out for 10 years now (currently 28), the amount of times I got depressed not reaching these people's physique levels was ridiculous. At the beginning of 2021 I realized how many people lie about this. I came to that realization and stopped comparing myself to them. I have been having the best workouts and my mental health also has been better. To anyone (especially if you're starting to workout etc.) this cannot be more true. Just keep going, do it for your own health and longevity. Sincerely, a younger male who put too much pressure on himself for too long. Edit: Thank you all for the generous comments below! I hope that you all have a wonderful New Year. Cheers!
For someone who got discouraged many times because I didn't see the results I was expecting while working out this video was such a comforting hug and an eye-opener. I really needed that and I am so glad Felix has spoken up about this issue, I have unmeasurable amounts of respect for him
Even when lifting naturally you can see a big transformation in 6-12 months if you're not fat. The fact that people expect too much is caused by lying fitness celebrities
That's why you have to write your progress down. Write down the amount of pounds you lift, the amount of sets, and the amount of reps. As long as you see improvement every week then yes, you are getting stronger.
I always think it’s crazy what actors do to make themself look as shredded as possible in movies. I remember hugh Jackman said that for Wolverine, he dehydrated himself for certain scenes so his skin wouldn’t be as hydrated and thick and more thinly rest on his muscles for a more cut look. He states that this could be dangerous and he had to be monitored by professionals when he did this. It’s that kind of crap that creates an unrealistic image in peoples minds that is ultimately impractical to obtain. I appreciated the fact that Robert Pattinson didn’t get super cut and swole for The Batman.
As someone who is a casual gym goer, very into 'fitness' it is brilliant to see Pewds telling his audience this. There are so many myths and deception in the industry that even regular gym goers don't know, let alone someone who doesn't. There are some people who are realistic and give good advice (Noel is such a good example - and I see Back Guy and Greg in the comments). But the industry is plagued with misinformation. Pewds doing a great service once again.
5:22 is totally doable in one year, I know it from personal experience. Gaining 3kg of muscle in a month is easy if you just eat a lot, I used to eat half of my paycheck 😂
@@imenjak That depends entirely on where you are though, in terms of advancment within training.. Are you completely new you can grow easily and a lot, but doing such a change if you've already trained semi proper for a few years I don't know. Also 3KG of pure muscle in a month is an absurd amount.
Glad to know that pewdiepie is talking about unrealistic expectations and how celebrities lie about reaching things “naturally” when it’s not true . People become self conscious and lose self esteem
Felix realized how dangerous his alcohol consumption was and cut back he should also realize TRT use is also safe. Small amounts will not hurt you just like one drink will not hurt you! His “I don’t care what anyone says steroids will hurt you.” Is simply not true.
@@steveleamont But TRT isn't the same as steroids. Anabolic drugs or "steroids" are not approved for human consumption and have a bunch of nasty side effects both short and long term.

So many people don't know this. I was talking to a girl about the unrealistic expectations on women. I said it happens to men as well, and she didn't believe me when I said most celebrities that are jacked are on gear
I'm going to honest with you, it's two sides of the same toxic bullshit. It's just when women are talking about beauty standards, MGTOW people come in and what about this stuff. We all expect people to look like what we see in media. For women, it's an hourglass figure with some big tits and a juicy ass. For men it's being muscular to the point where you almost can't walk. It's pushing unrealistic ideals onto real people. Plus it's often achieved in unrealistic ways. Many Victoria's Secret models have talked about starving themselves before the fashion shows, and actors have purposely dehydrated themselves for 3 days to achieve that look. It's all just fucking bullshit.
cant believe this was finally called out, i really hope this goes viral, this whole topic goes beyond just making money from fake information, it builds society standards, body dysmorphia on young people, standards that have affected the lives of countless teenagers, not just males, its a bigger deal than it seems, and couldn't be happier that pewds called it out.
This is essentially the Male version of plastic surgery for women. They say everything in their power to deny it and even go as far as lying to themselves about it. (Yes I know men get plastic surgery as well)
Roids aren't the male version of plastic surgery. Roids are coupled with hardwork and you don't change your muscle shape or insertions the way you want you just accentuate muscles that you had to begin with
@@aadith88 you'd be shocked . A lot of her ads set expectations that the products are gonna make their lips look bigger using her face even though her lips are already big

A lot of attention and focus has gone to female body positivity, plus size models, unrealistic body expectations, runway models and all that, but all those same issues exist for men as well, but another issue for men is not being able to talk about such issues. Reading about those male actors dehydrating themselves to attain a certain aesthetic, seeing girls thinking that Jason Mamoa has a dad bod whilst still being incredibly buff and muscular shows how warped perspective is on the male body as well.
@@Sired2Klaus True I dont think we should devalue the issues women still face today. Still, kinda missing the whole point of the man's comment tho. Both issues do suck, but these men related issues are just now being talked about publicly, hence the added attention.
@@Sired2Klaus devalue? how? by talking about other issues? we dont say "stop talking about women issues" we are saying that we need to talk about mens issues ALSO.
@@Sired2Klaus you took it the whole wrong way, is not to change the spectrum from one to another is to see the whole pictures, both have pressure in the industry but female pressure has the most light
@@Sired2Klaus How it devaluing anything? Part of it is that women point out these issues, and when men point out these issues also exist for them, women don't care as it's about women and not about men. How do you expect men to take your problems serious when you don't' want to take their problems serious? Women, rightfully for the most part, demand change in many places, but when someone talks about men being raped or taken advantage of, they still laugh about it whilst still expecting their problems with it to be listened to. Maybe accept that a lot of problems aren't unique to one gender, and being willing to listen to the other side will be mutually beneficial, rather than to take this hostile approach towards issues men face and expect to achieve anything.
Robert still looked decent as batman. He still worked out, he had a realistic body type of a normal guy that trains martial arts a lot and eats healthy. It was completely believable imo.
As a personal trainer I can testify how disruptive this lack of transparency is to the general public, people's perspective on transformation are totally skewed. Major aesthetic differences can take many months if not years of hardwork and nutrition dedication to accomplish and even then they do not, I repeat, they do not look anything close to what Hollywood actors or some Instagram influences sell as attainable naturally. Just exercise for the sake of health and long term lifespan, gains are welcome but not the most important aspect of fitness
@@dedge8060 Genetics play a huge part, even in women. For example, I could never have an hourglass figure, my body isn't naturally built to have such a shape so I always look "fat" (even if I'm underweight) just because I don't have that typical cinched in waist the media likes to push. It's unfortunate people today feel like they need to get surgery or take extreme measures just because their body type isn't the "desired" or "ideal" body type or they haven't won the genetic lottery
I'm so happy that Felix talks about that stuff, it;s such a taboo topic in Hollywood and people truelly are not aware of how popular steroids are there. When I said Kumail is 100% juiced up on Twitter I was literally called "rasist" and people were argueing that "I'm not aware what amazing genes Indian men have and how fast they grew muscles" like what? As a person that has been struggling with a severe bulimic eating disorder since the birth of tumblr, I can relate, especially when influencers would promote juice cleanses, lolly pops and other dietary supplements that help starving yourself but they either had work done, photoshopped their thigh gap or had an extreme eating disorder. As an adult now, I can understand the grind but those appetite suppressors and tummy teas could be seen as someone's holy grail.

@@zelinamarks5397 thank you, that means a lot to me! im happy that you didn't fall into tumblr's rabbit hole and its becoming less popular as the years go by
I honestly didn't know how prevalent it is for celebrities to be juiced. Obviously Arnold was on steroids, that's pretty much common knowledge. But so many influencers and celebs just don't talk about it or lie, and make it seem like they got natural results. It makes me feel better that I shouldn't look like that in my fitness goals, and that it's unrealistic to go after a physique for myself that looks like The Rock. And to me it's not really that attractive. I like more the anime look. Goku is a bit beefy and unrealistic, but the soul reapers from Bleach seems realistic. Lean but strong. Might be an idea to keep a photo on hand of someone natural that I want to emulate rather than looking at juiced up influencers.
Some dream physiques out there are naturally attainable though. Christian Bale, Brad Pitt, Henry Cavil, Chris Evans, etc. They may (I believe they are very possibly natural) have taken something at some point, but with the right genetics, given enough time training and dieting right, they’re all 100% possible
Using steroids is a personal choice. But when people aren’t transparent about their usage and use their physique deceptively as a selling point of a product for social media clout and monetary gain, that’s when it’s a problem.
It's not just a "problem" That's a massive crime, you're putting millions into deception and ruining the lives of youngsters into this constant vicious cycle of self-loathing, envy, and unattainable expectations. You can't say that lightly.
This is the same problem with influencers/celebrities that are praised for natural beauty when you can tell they've had plastic surgery, people are defending these people too!
@GATE. Cost to much, extremely annoying and hard to make with practical effects if you dong use cgi, and they can use the transformation as advirtising.

Man just look as awesome as you can. Look at what men in hunter and gatherer societies look like, that is how you are meant to look. Not some freak mass monster.
I work in the industry and I know some people who look like that or even better and are natural. The difference is that they spend more than a decade in the gym and when they are not filming or on stage, or modelling working out is their full time job and even work out when they get like a short 15 minute break. In fact for some of them they work out so much they don't have time for a relationship. They are also very totalitarian when it comes to their diet. Very rarely do they have cheat days if at all. There are still some famous actors who I believe are like that(Henry Cavill, Terry Crews) from what I've heard and seen but the reason they can be like that and be natural is because of the ridiculous amount of time they spend building that physique. And also these kind of actors know that they won't be able to keep that forever. Crews talked about how with age it's getting harder for him to work out to that extent and all of damage the workout has done to his body and how with age your muscles just get uglier. Don't give up. Just realise it will take a lot of time.
If you want to look like a bodybuilder you kind of have to accept the fact that you need roids. Otherwise it's just a body dysmorphia issue that needs to be worked on.
Looking at Robert Pattinsons physique in the new Batman trailer you can tell he definitely worked out and when you see his body it looks very obtainable for people not on steroids and just putting in the hours, I think when that article came out that is what he was referring to he clearly didn’t want to be spreading that message that steroids are required to look like a superhero I respect both sides of the argument but I’m impressed with how rob handled the situation.
@@theoutsiderjess1869 but spiderman has a different design than batman. I think everyone should remember that while anorexia or silicon boobs may catch the attention of men, in the end most men prefer women who look natural and healthy. It is the same for men. Most women prefer men who look natural and healthy. Taking that into account, the desire to reach unrealistic beauty standards at the cost of your health barely seems worth it - from that perspective at least.
Eating disorders is a mental health disorder and it’s common to also be depressed, people get it for lots of reason but it’s not about being pretty for the opposite sex.
I get pissed about the eating disorder thing. It's not just fitness lies that are a problem, there are also "natural physique" and the "no makeup" lies as well. There's an aesthetician I watch (Cassandra Bankson) where she at times talks about what celebrities and models do to obtain different kinds of looks like clear skin, looking young, having a tight waist, etc., and it all involves AI technology, photoshop, surgery, and more. Speaking of AI technology, I also saw this short vid on Snapchat where a guy talked about how this girl had such a tiny waist and she claims that she didn't get surgery to get it done, but it was figured out that she used AI to make her waist tiny. And it's not just her that's using this method, there are other people on UA-cam here, and other sites that are using AI to make their skins clear, and more. Then you've got the deep fake stuff that completely changes people's facial features to make them look "more attractive".
There was this woman streamer who managed to change her entire appearance due to technology and when it was discovered that she doesn't look like that her audience dropped like flies
There are beauty plug in type things people can get for editing softwares, they automatically detect skin and smooth it out. These are very common on UA-cam too.
Growing up in these times, you see a lot of awareness and try to be aware that Hollywood is fake. But subconsciously, I still find myself wanting to have an unnatural physique. Thanks for the spotlight!

The bit about Robert Pattinson is probably 100% correct. Based off the most recent trailer he clearly got in good shape for the movie but is also clearly natural but if you look at the comments about his physique (most likely from guys with no training or workout experience) you’d think he looked like an average joe. I’m pretty sure Pattinson didn’t want to take roids and was probably pressured to do so and refused.

Chris Evans' physique is achievable naturally. I've done pretty good and train half arsed, 3 times a week, isolation workouts, no diet, no supplements, working a full time manual labour job. Imagine what you can do with a personal chef, personal trainer and a $20million check.
im glad he’s speaking on male “beauty” standards. a lot of men, especially gym newbies, don’t know how roids impact your muscles and their looks aren’t achievable naturally. for women, a lot of women will falsely give bullshit workout routines for abs or a big bottom but they get lipo and BBLs. it’s about time people call others out
I took a (ex-)gf to see Thor when it came out. Packed theatre, and its dead quiet... Then shirtless Chris Hemsworth walked on screen after Thor's shower. Ok so about to lift the lid with some inside info. I'm an actor, worked on many movies (you can back this up by searching my name Samuel Victor) & I'm currently in training to star in a pretty big superhero movie being announced at London Film and Comic Con in July. Its not a Marvel or DC property but based on an indie comic, but many people who work on Marvel and DC movies are working on it and helped develop and fund it. Part of this was I was moved to a major studio owned property and assigned a dietician/nutritionalist and personal trainer (both of whom have worked with some of the major stars) and work with them (or at least report to them) every day. The diet is extremely strict and gruelling. The workout regime is crazy, basically several hours everyday (different muscle groups each day so they have time to recover). About once every couple of months, I'm offered the opportunity on company money to have a doctor test my testosterone levels, and decide that my "levels are low", and prescribe me some - injecting prescribed testosterone is basically steroids by a legal name and with plausible deniability - "no man I don't take steroids! I had a hormone imbalance and the doctor prescribed this!". Thats the deal here. So far, I've said no, and that's been accepted fine - they aren't forcing me to juice up, just letting me know the option is there if I want faster and more dramatic results. But I'm always told its an option that's there if I want it, and that many other actors use them. "No shame in it, as you still have to work incredibly hard, and its safe because we are constantly monitoring your bloods, heart etc!". I definitely use the EMS machines (the "electrocuting yourself" things that Felix mentioned) both during and after certain workouts, and they do work well to increase endurance and muscle tone - don't be fooled into thinking they burn fat though, they won't give you a six pack if you are over 14% body fat, just make your stomach stronger under the fat! lol They aren't a shortcut if you don't work out as well, they just improve the aesthetics by toning and tightening if you already have a ripped physique. I can tell you they aren't exactly pleasant to use though. Also, for the record, all tight lycra style supersuits (Spider-Man, Super Man etc) have muscle shaped padding inside them. Even the hyper jacked celebs use them cos otherwise that skin tight compression makes you look super skinny, similar to women wearing spanx underwear! The real heavy working out is done not for the supersuit stuff, but for the scenes where you're just in a tight tshirt, or have to have your shirt off for "plot reasons" ;) I recently started a small podcast exposing some of the more shady things that I've been witness to in certain Hollywood circles. Its getting me in trouble and losing some jobs, but if this superhero movie suddenly blows me up and makes me famous I want it to be clear that I'm a good person on the right side of history. I will be doing a whole episode about the superhero pressure pipeline (and general body standards imposed on leading men and women) in the new year.

@@HEADASSLOOKINGAHHH I remember someone complaining that it’s more essential to see Batman bulked up than Superman because Batman doesn’t have superpowers, but the hero is a ninja/detective type of guy who’s known for the guy to outsmart people (maybe except for the joker). We don’t have to see a Goku batman.
@@Tyler-cm6vk i think it makes more sense if batman is smaller since he doesn't have powers and is human. With other heroes, they have powers or are from another planet, so having a physique that humans can't obtain isn't too farfetched.
This is the same for beauty influencers who sell clothes, makeup, skincare, when they have enhanced their bodies UNNATURALLY. It also leads to depression and EDs because people can feel insecure about their NATURAL bodies. We compare ourselves to the beauty standards which are unattainable without cosmetic procedures and it’s harmful when marketed as having no procedures
*THE BODY DYSMORPHIA OF IT ALL.* It's crazy how many of this male celebrities get performance enhancers and cosmetic surgeries to enhance their muscle looks, on top of heavy editing in pictures.
Celebrities aren't working out for the fitness, they are working out for the paycheck. Millions of dollars and a decade of reliable income through sequels is a pretty big incentive.
But then again it was their jobs and the lifehood of them + family depends on that paycheck just that a bit of honesty won't hurt although thats nkt going to happen
Ive realized now that PewDiePie has been using his social influence and outlet as a way to actually inform people instead of so called ''influencing''. Just another reason why he is the Ultimate Chad. also happy new year.
Analogically, as a kid I was mind blown about how full and long some female celebrities' hair is. My dream was to have hair of Alexz Johnson from "24 hours" clip. super long super wavy and super full. I was crying that I can't ever get my hair to this point. Eventually I found out that every celeb that I was admiring for their hair was putting in extensions. I hated my hair throughout my teenage years. It may sound trivial but trust me, it shaped my lack of confidence in huge part.
I can relate to this as well. I watch a lot of pro wrestling and I always used to wonder how do the women in wrestling have such great hair. Silly me for not realising what's going on :P
White people and black people tend to have thin frail hair that cant grow very long. Asians, NA, and South Asians tend to have coarser and stronger hair that can grow very long
I'm glad the Robert Pattinson thing got brought up because that was how I interpreted it at the time too. He wasn't really talking about not wanting to work out, because clearly he already does work out - literally look at him, he was talking about drug use. He was just trying not inadvertently call out other actors. And what was the response? A bunch of middle aged DYELs wearing batman tee-shirts calling him lazy, the exact people he was probably saying it for in the first place. As Pewd says, we can't really be too angry with guys like Hemsworth when they're facing pressure like that from their own "fans", ignorant as they may be, never mind the production companies.
I also agree with Pewds saying we can't be angry at the actors. They're just doing their job which is to entertain, and we don't know what's going on behind the curtain. Same goes with the beauty industry which basically a counterpart for the fitness industry. I just shrug it off about Pattinson saying he doesn't want to work out, I mean he is doing fine in the previous years since Twilight and it's his choice no big deal. I mean any average person would work out. But I guess, there are people out there who are too idealistic and wanted others to reach their standards which is frustrating
People are so delusional that they will still defend these Gym Shark athletes, 'natural' bodybuilder, actors and fitness youtubers, but good on you for bringing this shit to people's attention. I have used a lot of steroids in the past (currently don't work out) and it is fucking crazy how many people in your local gym is using.

Genetics always seem to get overlooked when talking about this, everyone just focuses on the steroids.

It is the same for men. Most women prefer men who look natural and healthy. Taking that into account, the desire to reach unrealistic beauty standards at the cost of your health barely seems worth it - from that perspective at least.
Id even go as far as to say, muscle and body dysmorphia among men is way more prevalent or at least equal to women who suffer from eating disorders.

There was an epic cat meme where the cat was really cute, but then AI and now cat ded D:

The real heavy working out is done not for the supersuit stuff, but for the scenes where you're just in a tight tshirt, or have to have your shirt off for "plot reasons" ;)
I recently started a small podcast exposing some of the more shady things that I've been witness to in certain Hollywood circles.
