      Commenting this while sharing Mishima's philosophy and way of life as actual advice without telling what the guy meant with that or what he did as the example of that is extremely irresponsable. I always thought that the left saying he's a right wing pipeliner was coincidental, but given he knows enough about Mishima to say "he's a controversial author"... he knows. And shares this shit with mostly sub 20 kids.

    He's now at the top of the pyramid on Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, which is self actualization, finding purpose and reaching inner potential. He's well off, has a wife, and a kid. People rarely ever reach that tier in the pyramid.

    • @VIralViiiideos
      @VIralViiiideos 6 місяців тому +93

      His theory has some drawbacks, not every need is to be put in hierarchy, some havent achieved cosmetic needs or social needs and still can go for self actualization but I get where you are coming from , its a nice way to put it.

    • @Meep413
      @Meep413 6 місяців тому +32

      @@VIralViiiideos yes, that’s why it’s just a theory. There are other theories that may suit other lifestyles, but this one I like the best since you can’t enter the last tier unless everything below you has been achieved; physiological needs, safety, relationships, love & belonging and self-esteem.

    • @pa9030
      @pa9030 6 місяців тому +64

      Maslow's pyramid has been proven invalid for a while now, the idea that you can't reach higher stages if you didn't fulfill lower ones is just wrong. Also, the last stage really isn't that hard to achieve, I'm sure you've been there many times aswell. It's just part of being human. I think you're interpreting it too narrow, it's not supposed to be a phase in your life that lasts until your death. Many small things in your daily live can trigger it, and the next day it might be gone, or it might stay for a longer period, but it's dynamic and it fluctuates. But It's true that pewdiepie has created an environment for himself in which the treshold for reaching the last stage is very low, so he probably 'spends' way more time in it than the average human.

    Man, it's been beautiful seeing Felix evolve since I was a kid. He's become such a wholesome role model.
    My little bro is quite heavily on the Autism spectrum - homeschooled, very late verbal development. He struggles greatly with social interaction, mostly retreating to the safety of gaming as a way of escape/numbing from the elevated stress levels he has to deal with and puberty, which alone is enough of a head-fuck to deal with.
    Most people feel those anxieties to some degree, I struggle with many of the same battles, just to a lesser extent.
    He's watched Pewds for a while, but Felix's recent videos have inspired him to start learning the Ukulele and beginning to draw, among other things.
    It's helping him develop super meaningful hobbies and positive ways to spend his time that aren't focused on gaming, and it's helping him relate to people in a whole new way. It's really beautiful to see.
    I hope he can stick to these new hobbies/interests over the years, as they'll deepen the quality of his life immensely.
    So, thank you sincerely, Felix. It's rare to see someone earnestly and humbly using their platform to constantly spread such a positive message. It's sadly rare in the absolute clutter fuck that is the modern age.

There was a time when i would've just been bitter because he's like 8 years younger than me but these days, more humble and self aware, I'm just inspired to strive to learn and grow just like he's doing. Felix, I know you will probably not see this but seeing such a huge transformation from where you were 7-8 years ago to where you are now is truly inspiring. Life right now is not easy for me, but your journey is inspiring, I want to hit the gym, get into reading, start talking to more people in general and mature. I'm 24 right now, but sometimes I feel like a man child, I and many other young men need to start maturing so we just don't get stuck in video games, social media and all these other distracting factors that make us numb and make us escape reality. Sorry if I'm ranting right now, alas what I want to say is that I'll start my journey to find who I am and seeing that you have become such a cool man, it just makes me hopeful I can too.
    Greetings from Colombia!

    Paul Schrader’s film adaptation of both his life and work, Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters, is an underrated masterpiece. It covers the Yukio Mishima from every angle you could want and the look of each chapter is astonishing. As much as Schrader has written classics like Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, but Mishima is his most underrated film and one of my favorites. Would love to see you talk about that as well.
