  • Over the better part of this century, bodybuilders have increased the natural performance of their bodies by using artificial substances. In episode 3 of Swole, we talk to a medical expert about the consequences from the use of anabolic steroids while following the daily routine of Mike Bolkovic, a bodybuilder who’s been injecting testosterone for the past eight years. Mike shares with us how the drug impacted his lifestyle and personal relationships.

Steroids might take you to the "next level," but even the most ardent users recognize there are often debilitating side-effects.

Black KNight is misleading a bunch of people, because he is saying the shutoff is permanent however endocrinologists etc have known ways using amino acid chains ( peptides ) to maintain the system...
If you are serious about steroids and human growth hormone you go to an endocrinologist... You don't listen to Bro Science on youtube... There are plenty of people who are on Anabolics and HGH under doctor supervision and won't have any negative side effects... Almost everyone I know who is rich is on some Hormone replacement therapy that is over the age of 50... Most of these guys who have the money go on some Hormone therapy around 40~..
If you are interested in pain killers for Chronic Pain you don't go talk to a Heroin Junkie, LOL!
Similarly, if I want Cuban Cigars I don't order them from China LOL! Literally, you can go to the doctor and have a whole freaken stack made out for you customized... You got the money, they got the Juice!
The people taking advantage are the Rich, the rest of you poor slobs gotta inject stuff from China, and no doctor supervision... This is what Prohibition gets us....
There is nothing wrong with a 40 year old man getting his hormone levels back to when he was 26 under doctor supervision...

A lot of this info is extremely misleading. I love Vice News because they actually have balls but this series on bodybuilding has been really, really bad. I was hoping they would cover this after seeing the first two but now I wish they hadn't. 2-7,000 a month on gear? And he says 2-5,000 is easy to spend? I would like him to math that out for me. Looked like he had about 400 bucks of empties from over the past year. He's not even using human grade gear or HGH. A vial of underground testosterone costs $30-40 if you aren't getting ripped off. A kit of Meditrope, an excellent generic HGH cost 150-250 depending on your circumstances. A kit of Serostim Human Grade HGH costs 750-800 a kit. Saizen (probably the best HGH) is $1,000 a month for a decent dose.
If you're doing it right you should actually be using a low dose of testosterone. His high test use is why he experienced so many sides. Also if he's been bodybuilding for 14 years where are the competition photos?
He basically just spewed a bunch of used up Rich Piana catch phrases (while dressed head to toe in his merchandise) and gave a bunch of bad "bro" info. He's a poser. A gym rat posing as a real bodybuilder.
I may sound like I'm on my high horse about this and it's because I am. I'm literally filming an in depth series with a film crew about this exact topic. We literally had our first filming day last Sunday.

But not as big or ripped as some lads I've seen come into the gym, within 6 months due to steroid abuse! They haven't been as strong, but it looks good if they have had the right gear, bulk cycle then rip cycle drugs! Highly additive and will result in certain early death! Mate at work been on them for years, only late 20's he has been through a divorce because he can't have children due to steroid abuse! I suppose it's what ever people want to sacrifice for vanity!
But the answer to ya question is yeah, you can look good and be strong naturally with the right genes, but never look like a pro bodybuilder! They do an actual clean bodybuilding competition, check it out, and compare it to a pro bodybuilding competition!

You can workout twice a day, your diet and sex drive is insane, you almost don't get sore, your pumps feel like your body is exploding out of your skin, and if you're dedicated you see results. It's insanely addicting. It depends on the response of the person taking it. I was a competitive bodybuilder from age 15 to 21. Even then, many of my competitors were using. I could never ever understand why because taking drugs, and exercising and being healthy don't go together. So I stopped competing and got into the fitness industry & became a personal trainer then a Fitness coach for over 30 years to help regular everyday people get more fit and healthy, using strength training cardio inflexibility flexibility regiments. I never use steroids, and I never will.
Drug abuse is drug abuse whether it be a bodybuilding & steroid use or heroin or crack addicts. It's really a waste of human life to use steroids and workout. It's the wrong kind of addiction.

Here is an issue for you. As a high school kid. I was stronger in the leg press and deadlift that a ton of today's power lifters, and body builders. I have no idea how much I could actually deadlift because the most I could get on the bar at school was 605lbs. I worked out with that usually 3-5 sets of 10 on my deadlifts. Leg press was crazy. We had a top poundage of 2500lbs which was also my workout weight when I was at a different school that had no free weights. I used to show off by folding up a thick jacket and using it as padding when I had a friend pull his LTD front bumper just over the edge of the pavement and I was on the mild slope just outside the pavement. I would bet as many as would bet me that I could do usually 3-5 reps. And I actually did 7 reps once. It was an LTD it had to weigh around 3500lbs on the front end. But here's the kicker. I was just a farm boy that never used any steroids or anything to get stronger or more buffed or cut.
The only steroids I ever used was my inhaler after leaving the Army. The gas chamber messed me up and since then I have had athsma. I used steroid replacement for 4 years by prescription but had to stop because it was elevating my PSA. my testosterone levels were so low it was hard to get a reading when I got into my mid 40's. That's why the patch was prescribed. It may have been the cause of my prostate cancer, or maybe the 5 years they had me on Zantac for my digestive problems. Sorry people l, steroids may get you looking like King Kong and help enhance the growth of the muscle but even in the tiny amounts I was given just to replace a bit of what I had lost it is likely why I had cancer. It isn't worth the risk no matter how big, strong, or how much it helps you earn in any sport. Personally I would prefer to live a good long life and not deal with cancer. Now, my body is beat up from the crazy things I did like leg pressing that LTD, I WAS A SMALL TERROR on the football field. If my teammates did not try to tackle the guy with the ball I punished them but running over them to get to the guy if I had to. I was one of the smallest linemen in the league but the biggest one found out quick small, mean, and determined can Trump size if you have the right skills. 6' and 157lbs against 6'9" and about 298lbs. He beat me on the first play from scrimmage but after that I took him from every angle and with every trick, motion, position, or type of leverage I could create. Just before half time I put him out of the game and he didn't come back. It was a simple crab block. He limped out onto the field to shake my hand and tell me that he hopes he never has to face me again.
It's like they say it's not the size of the man it's the size of the fight in the man.
Steroids will not leave you in a good state when it's all over. They will destroy your body and leave you with loads of medical issues. Some escape that but the majority do not. Ask Arnold if you don't believe me.

Instead of fast food, having to take hours prepping. Putting ur body through pain, AND still having to go to work. People make excuses not to do these things. Or if they don’t see results in a week, they quit. It takes a lot of dedication, most Americans don’t have it.
