Ok I am a 14 year old girl. a bugs life was my favorite movie when I was younger. but this traumatized me. I was hiding under my jacket almost the whole time I stayed. I was almost crying just at the stink bug and the termite and spider shooting parts. my leg was soaked from the water they spray at you. I gagged at the scent of the stink bug. if there isn't water or smells, there's a high amount of air being blown in your face and what feels like A NEEDLE STABBING YOUR BACK. when the grasshopper sprays exterminating spray on you, you can't see anything or hear anything. I immediately felt a stinging pain shock from released hornets in my back. all throughout this I'm screaming to my mom that I wanted to leave and that I didn't like it. then BLACK WIDOWS DROP FROM THE CEILING. I YELLED TO MY MOM TO GET OUT AND WE RAN FOR THE EXIT. I turned around as we were leaving and saw a little boy screaming and crying horrified at this ride. I have developed a new fear of bugs that I did not have before. I don't recommend this for people who don't like very interactive very scary stuff. if you're into getting a scare without going on a rollercoaster than I recommend this. maybe just know where the exit is

I remember first going to this in 2002 and being 6/7 years old. This was so terrifying back then lmao I remember holding back tears throughout it. The spiders really freaked me out bad.
When I saw this when I was younger, I don't ever remember being scared. Probably because I was too young to know what was going on. But HOLY SHIT I remember the spider part but I'm surprised I wasn't more scared 😰 I am terrified of spiders. And the bug spray part!! How did that freak me out now but not then??

I'm having memories from when I was 7, I had a panic attack on this ride. When the bees "stung" my back, I jumped out of my seat and sat with my head between my knees on the floor the whole time. My dad had to carry me out cause I was panicking(when the ride was over), and I threw up afterwards. I'm 16 now, and still haven't been back on since then.

I've been watching this show since I was four, and to this day (I'm twenty) I still lean forward at the hornet part lol. Also, the first time I saw it I though he said "sting bug" instead of "stink bug" and I screamed out loud. I'm sure the rest of the audience was wondering what was up haha.
I grew up watching this whenever I went to Disney.. But once I was old enough to realize what was going on.. I've never seen it again XD I'm 16 and this show still scares the crap out of me XD

I don't understand why A Bug's Life is the most underrated Pixar movie and yet there's a Bug's Land?
Cause all the Bug's Life stuff was built right around the time the movie was released, plus it fit right into Animal Kingdom's theme.

When CA Adventure opened in 2001, they didn't have child-friendly rides, so they added Bugs Land about a year later.
The part when Hopper appears always scared me as a kid.

When I went on this ride, I was fine, but when I came home from Disneyland, I believed I barfed because the water that was sprayed at me durning the bug spray part probably was very filthy and had many germs.
One of my earliest memories of going to Disney World is from when I went on this ride when I was maybe three or four. Absolutely scared the SHIT out of me, I was burying my head into my grandmother's jacket and crying. Never again!
There's a bit of a trick to avoiding a spot right under a spider. (Or choosing one on purpose if you want to admire the craftsmanship.) The seat backs have holes in them with tinted glass inside. Those things hide the red lights that illuminate the spiders from below, so that's where they come down.
My nephew talks a lot of smack and he was scared of Tower of Terror, The dinosaur ride, AND this with the spiders. I was so excited about seeing it all for the first time and this idiot constantly bumps into me and my other nephew because he was scared.
Also I note that it isn't as crowed for you as it was for me.

I was fine with this ride right up until those spiders came down; I was 8 at the time, so my memory's probably skewed, but I remember there being more spiders, and each of them dropping down RIGHT in front of your face.
Suffice to say, I blame Disney for my mild arachnophobia.

11:06 o shit.... this was the part that finally made me fucking loose it. I was crying bloody murder at this point and was struggling to exit cause I nearly had an anxiety attack. I was only like 4 or 5 at the time. This is a disaster. it is too boring or adults, but too scary for small children. It kinda reminds me of AE in WDW and Stitches escape. it just flopped so hard cause it doesn't naturally appeal to any age group.
***** Oh, i was refering to Stitches Great Escape. They tried to sugar coat the effects that were made SPECIFICALLY to terrify, and make it into a ride small children can enjoy. While doing so, they managed to create a ride that didn't really fit a demographic. Adults would be bored or just plain out annoyed, while children would be too frightened. They pretty much kept what wad an issue for children in the first place, but took out all of the elements that excited older audiences. In that way, it reminds me of this. It has children scared to death, but adults bored because there isn't much to it. At least AE HAD a demographic, and did their job very well. It's purpose was to frighten, and it did well. It's a shame a few stupid soccer moms who DON'T KNOW HOW TO READ FUCKING WARNINGS(sorry... It just pisses me off. They put clear warnings all over the queue of the line, as well as a final exit and the cast members even warning them that what lies ahead would be much too frightening for those faint of heart and for the young children, but what do they do? Complain. I mean, can you please get the fucking stick out of your ass for a second and lighten up?! Not you.. I mean the people who complained about the ride. Again, sorry, but this would of been avoided if it wasn't for those kinds of people.) anyway,if it weren't for that, we would still have it. But now we have Stitches Great Escape, which really puts the mechanics of the shoulder harness to shame. You can't really sugarcoat something like that, which is why it is a fail. Which brings me back to my point (damn this comment is long) that this ride is also lame because it suffers from the same thing. Of course, it wasn't made from the remains of another ride, but this lies in that deep canyon that is between the demographic range that would even acknowledge this, which is small children, and their parents. Too scary for the little kiddies but not interesting enough for mommies and daddies, this ride pretty much falls down that canyon and falls flat. (Wow... Seriously though this is kind of long. I'm out of breath by even thinkng this up XD)

Flipping Stuff Alien Encounter, (which also had the name ExtraTERRORestrial Encounter) which was a ride they had in Disney World (I forgot which exact park) which was completely in the dark and centered around the main senses to trick your brain and bring the scares. You would sit in a round room, which the seats would be centered to look at the giant tube in the middle of the room. This would be the transportation tube. The experiment went wrong, and in that tube, a blood thirsty carnivorous alien transported there in that tube, right in front of the audience. In the seats, you would have a harness like what you have on a roller coaster. This harness would spray air to simulate a warm breathe, poke to simulate the alien "touching" you, and other things like that. The ride was discontinued and is extinct as of now unfortunately. It was a really cool ride, but gained a lot of criticism and trouble because of parents bringing their small children into the ride thinking it would be ok despite the various warning signs throughout the queue saying that the ride is scary and is not suitable for young children. So, they reskinned the ride to be Stitches Great Escape. Stitches Great Escape is a huge flop... Yet it is still there. Many complain it is still too scary for children (they didn't remove any of the old "touching" and "breathing" effects. All they did was replace the scary looking alien with stitch) yet, now that they dumbed it down to a "kiddie" ride, the thrill and excitement of the ride was taken away, and what adults liked about it was removed so unfortunately it's boring for teens and adults. You should look up Alien Encounter! It was a very cool ride before they reskinned it.
Flipping Stuff So sorry for my long response. To summarize, it was a ride that was removed because it was found too scary, and later became Stitches Great Escape, which is still there today, but it always criticised for being too scary for young children and too boring for older children, teens, and adults. Hopper has two problems, not just birds but also chameleons.
The problem with this show is that it is too scary for kids. People don't listen to the sign in front saying that it might be too scary for kids and bring their kids and it scares them. It is way too intense for a show at Disneyland. They could replace the whole land and I'd be fine with it. There are so many other Pixar films that they could use and they picked this one. Keep up with people's favorites, Pixar.
I know this comment is old, but they made this land to attract a younger audience plus this show itself was mostly for teenagers and adults.

I have so freakin scared of spiders. I get scared of freakin toy spiders. When those black widows came out, I clutched onto my older sister's arm, I didn't look up and started screaming. XD But when I was little like 5 or 6, for some reason, I wasn't scared of the spiders. I was like "Wow, those spiders look real." I don't what happened to me😂

I came to this park for my dad and step moms honeymoon when I was like 7-8 and out of the little slivers of my memory, I remember the last part for this show, when it felt like something was moving underneath the seat. I don’t remember if I was scared, but holy shit it felt weird, this show was just all weird and scary to me in general. Looking back on this now makes a lot more sense, because I was confused about all that was happening, lol

The thing with the seat at the end freaked me out the first time I went on it
when I was younger I was really scared of bugs, mostly spiders and the dark like any kid.I was so pissed at my mom for making me get on this attraction when she knew of my phobia. she told everything was gonna be ok and that I was going to be fine. AHHH WRONG!! lbs when Hopper came out and had the hornets and the spiders attack, I FLIPPED THE FUCK OUT. I started screaming and crying because all of my fears were combined at that moment. I was so hysterical that I ran to the exit as fast as I could& ended up stepping on people's feet (which I feel bad about now) and ran way ahead of my mom. my dad stayed inside to finish the attraction with my older brother and when it was over my dad just looked at my mom and told her I had no business being in there lol because I caused unintentional scene/quick distribution but it was all my mom's fault. That incident happened when I was 8 and I was so traumatized. when I was 15 I somewhat conquered my fears and got back on this attraction but this time I just covered my eyes and ears the WHOLE time but then I felt awful because my 4 year old nephew was with us this time and he got scared like I did when I was 8 (just not as dramatic lol) and once again not his fault, it was my mother's because she made us get on. She didn't think he was going to be scared but she was wrong again smh lol.

Inwentnto disney world in 2009 in 2nd grade and I saw that and I wanted to cry because I was scared and my cousin ran out ofnthe buliding.
I wish a giant tarantula or centipede was in a bug's life to eat the bird.
Then Hopper's reign will continue, his reign is over thanks to the bird feeding him to her babies.
