Dude, hands down your videos , how to’s and beginners info is the best. The last “stock” class I did was the TL-01 and had loads of fun with my son back in those days. The last kit build was a TA-03F “David Jun” edition. That was my first pro level chassis in the late 90’s. Now coming back to the R/C scene, holy hell how designs and technology have progressed since then. 😮
I appreciate that! i try as hard as i can to show it froma beginner and to pass on what i can learn!! there are some amazing kits and classes out there now
I just purchased a pair of screwdrivers bits: JIS #1 and JIS #2 #1 feels too small for most screws on a Tamiya kit. It would probably work on servo casing screws and similar smaller screws. However, the #2 JIS bit fits very snugly with zero play and a nice locked-in feel on all the screws of my TT02. I wish I found out about this in the 80’s LOL 😂
Helpful video! For newbies like me, at 6:20 he starts talking about what comes w the tt02 kit and says it has everything you need. He is wrong. The kit does not come with a servo and you wont be doing much of anything until you buy one separately. the receiver and the transmitter are sold separately.
The JIS Tamiya screws are terrible I only have one money pit atm and I put in HEX hardware. I in Japan for working 2 weeks so picking up some cheap parts there and maybe a BBX as it 29000 yen before duty free if not a 6500yen green edition frog.
Always get the TT02 D for a few extra bucks you get hundreds in upgrade parts. Alll rc cars turn into a money pit after adding electronics. I don’t even count that cost in. Always double your budget
I got two of them & I love them!basic tt02 & a tt02r. These little cars are very impressive, for being entry level 🔥
Yes they are! Can’t wait to get it back out on the track
I agree with that statement. The most expensive cheapest car
lol. And very time consuming with stock spec racing.

BTW Tamiya kits use JIS screws, not American Philips. Although a regular Philips #2 tip will work, you’re right and the right tool is always best👍🏻
Yeah it’s like jis5 I think lol
