With a set of 8x5x0.3 and 8x5x0.1 shims you can take off all slop from the upper and lower arms. You can buy the kits from traxxas, core rc or other brands
3degree rear spindle works great for me. Car comes around nicely. Front locker diff, 2000 rear oil diff , 1/2 mm toe in front to rear of tire ) steel CVA’s all around ,55 mm 4 hole YEAH RACING shocks, 35 - 37.5 shock fluids (warm day temps ) aluminum front spindle and 1 degree neg camber all around and titanium turn buckles for camber adjustments . This is a Black top track set up . The alum spindles and top arms on the front end I have seems to help the aluminum steering mechanism. Half the slop! Keep the lower arms plastic stock ! If something wants to break the plastic is cheaper . Used titanium screw kit and carbon fiber battery hold down , shock towers and front bumper keeping it light and strong all on the TT02 hard chassis the hard chassis seems to strip out less .and no notice in handling I’ve felt . I’m planing to do the titanium balls all around soon . Even 3m x 15mm titanium shock screws with aluminum lock nuts and spacers . Next season shorty pack LiHv packs
Try taking another linkage that is meant to connect the servo saver to the steering rack and mount it to the front of the rack as well where the connectors go to the wheels, this is essentially a steering turnbuckle and takes away a lot of steering slop in these tt02s, hope this helps
We don't have an indoor/outdoor road track, except for a go cart track coming. That and we will be starting a club to play maintenance on the rest of the complex coming up. Clay circle track and another off-road track. Only thing i can think is i should be able to do the circle track pretty easily. I just finished my'(23) tt02r chassis. First Tamiya, loved this build. Just to get 'er going i slapped in some old motor/esc w/27/68 on 2s Very rough old asphalt apt. parking lot. Stock race tire even sticky on that shit.
What size pinion and spur gears would you recommend for the just stock 21.5t combo on a pretty high speed track? I'm just getting into to touring car racing starting this spring. Thanks
I will say that I disagree on the steering upgrade kit. Yes, cheaper variants are questionable for the price. However, I own the Tamiya version that costs a fortune and it’s definitely worth it as the arms don’t have as much slop as the stock setup has. Plus, they use actual TRF 417 parts. Definitely one of those upgrades where if you’re going to go for it, it’s worth spending more for the actual Tamiya one.
From what I have found you would have to run the type s arms, hubs, drive shafts and output cups but yes I've not seen any for the standard TT 02 suspension so far
Nice update vid. I’m on the same tt-02 race journey, so your vids are useful 😀. How did you mount the fastrax shocks on the front lower mount? The upper mount gets in the way.
My local track does not allow the oil filled shocks. Almost completely stock. The surface we race on is quite rough. Some people seem to have their cars running pretty smooth. I haven’t figured out their secrets yet. Myself and others have a lot of bounce in the suspension and tire chatter. Any suggestions to fix this with stock shocks? Thanks!
I've got a tt-02 with easily over $700usd and I can't seem to get it to track straight. It's been a battle that has went through 3 chassis, four different steering set ups, three drive cup set ups and its been a money pit. The only original part is the body. I'm about to install a new motor and esc and I am going to sell it to try to get something back but it's going to be a huge loss. I have seen lots of people that love them but I've had nothing but dissatisfaction from it.😢
If ya after a fast brushless set up then a tt-02 is not the right RC for ya, they do work really well for indoor carpet racing though and the carbon chassis one I built works fantastic but I've never had an issue with getting any of em to go in a straight line :)
anyway you could do a vid comparing TT-02r vs TT-02SRX please! TT-02r is $150 and SRX is $250! Im also here to support like and comment! I also have a little collection vid myself and is my first would be nice to get some Support back! Love the vids and cant wait for more
The srx is one I just won't be getting, it has some good parts but the price is just not worth it the ta08 Pro is a far better RC and same price the srx is just the sr with a few tamiya hop up parts included so it's a good RC just expensive for a tt02
Getting back into RC. And just got a tt02 Alfa 155

Where can I buy this kind of body? I live here in the US. Do you mind sharing the part number of your car body? It looks great!
It's the tamiya senna not sure on the part number as it came with the tt02 kit

Yep will give it a try :)
@@WTFRCCars is there a way for me to share a picture?

TT-02 are a great fun rc :)

I've just fitted a 20t motor for longer faster tracks and will be trying the tamiya high speed spur and 23t pinion to start with
@@WTFRCCars thanks
Does the rear wing help or cosmetic?
It actually makes far more difference than you would think in 2 races I have had the rear wing knocked off and the car drives like crap without one

Yeh I've said in a few vids the cheap ones ain't that good 👍 I like the yeah Racing parts so may try one of theirs
@@WTFRCCars Probably worth a look since they recommend it for their Type S-style “Competition” conversion kit.
when running with thinner dif fluid do you recommend changing the difs to tamiya oil difs so they dont leek?
Yeh if you want to run thin diff oil you will definitely have to go with sealed diffs.
@@WTFRCCars thanks :)
Year racing setup tool
I have the v3 yeah racing set up station in another vid :)
Do they have stabilizer's sway bars for tt02 chassie's

There close but they do fit and work well

@jeffrubin6423 yeh put thick grease on the shock will slow em down
Thanks
No worries 😁
Nice video 😎
