Honestly, I wouldn't recommend the Range Rover P38A as a first car for a high school student. It's considered a classic at this point, and while it has its charm, it's not ideal for daily use. It's known for being quite unreliable, especially when it comes to electrical issues. These kinds of cars are better suited for collectors or enthusiasts who enjoy working on them, not as a regular daily driver. Just something to keep in mind!
A real super strong chassis, you could take it to war, you get your money’s worth of metal all where you can’t see it. I think it’s the last chassis separate body estates of LAND ROVER RANGE ROVERS.
It is indeed, the last body on frame and solid front axle RR they made. Just a really fun offroader, i'm still amazed by how easly it climbs over stuff.
Far from it, definitely a misconception made by people that have never owned or worked on the brand. I’ve been a European vehicle technician for over 25 years professionally and I can say that they are in deed very reliable. Are they a Honda??? No, these will need normal maintenance as does most vehicles. These trucks are also not meant for people that abuse them with no maintenance, careless driving and lack of respect for a true upscale brand.
Nah not really, is reliable as any late 90's car, electronics can go bad in the early models OR if the owner uses the wrong battery or a fluked/cheap alternator as a spare. ''OH BUT THE SUSPENSIONS'' yes they can go wrong but the only unfixable part is the ecu wich can be bought cheap online. The real pain in the butt are interior trims, with age they are brittle as a potato chip. And some are not to be found anymore in some colors.
You are right. Definitely not a misconception. You can not even count all those garage receipts on the seat shown in this film. Those that say that it is a misconception are probably 'garages' or 'specialists' that want to rip and screw people off as much as possible, they replace everything but can not get it really fixed whether they do that on purpose or not. We own them since 1980. Had for instance to replace the head gasket before 80.000 km while driving it very softly and even more softly while getting it on temperature. There are some common things like the drainage of the sunroof wetting the loadspace and sparewheel compartment so if your windows are always misty you know you have to fix the drainage, a specialist should know that and have experience, but our specialists do not know their stuff and you are paying them for that they do not know their stuff, and are a scam, they also charge you more than 1000 to fix a stupid crankshaft sensor because the motor would not run with a faulty sensor. There is still the famous ac fault because of the mixer motors but many air hoses are fallen off anyway and somewhere blowing in the dash, i have no time to fix that sort of stupid things. I am trying to repair other faults that a specialist is not able to fix such as that they replaced the air suspension but after about 10.000 km there was the famous fault code (limit speed to 55 and with the 2 or three amigos etc.) they just put coil suspension on because they do know nothing more than yourself, and you have to have a stupid 'computer' to reset the fault messages and program it. We replaced the front wheel sensors. But if i have the time i hope to get it back to SLS because a softer suspension is better Offroad and rides at least halve as soft, now it is almost as stiff as a normal car. But it really is a 'ticking time bomb', you know each day you start it up (or even before that hoping the door opens and the key works) to be very soft and careful and be anxious and be walking on eggs but even then it is a 'ticking time bomb'. Sometimes i wish a robust but ugly Japanese car that just works and have almost no problems. But we are not even talking about the newer models, they are really complex with even more faults and not even have a manual handbrake so never ever buy a newer one. But if you do, then you can Watch LRtime on here for instance.
Brother, after seeing many p38’s on the market, I can say that you hit the jackpot on the seats. They are in pristine condition
Wow pretty good condition for its age and still looks good design wise inside and out.
Yeah this one is a beaut, just sold on BAT last week
Love range rovers. I never knew they made a truck!
that interior looks amazing
Do you think a high school student should get this as their first car?
First car? No. Second or Third Go Ahead Fuck It.

You can stop the chiming, the speaker is behind the instrument gauge
Yes but I didn’t want to alter the factory equipment since this truck will be Live on BAT in a couple days. But man I wish I did remove it lol
@@etmracing understandable, good luck 👍
It's part of the charme, all the beeps and bops (bops are bad tho, means something is faulty).
The electrical 1:46 connection for the drivers seat belt is behind the drivers seat and you can disconnect that to stop the chimes
looks awesome, where is it going to be for sale at?
Going Live in a couple days on BAT. They approved it last week
Good looking rig!!!
Truck?
Hello, I'm a prospective buyer and would like to own it for a long time, may I know the items that need to be checked regularly?
Lovely car. Very well serviced everything looks fine. Just drop a nice exhaust on it, let that Buick 4.6 sing.

I have been under the P38 and it is indeed beefy. More like a Hummer than, say, a Jeep.
كم سعر السيارة ؟
P38 is a fantastic car. BMW nearly ruined Range Rover. Never buy a Range Rover with a BMW V8! Buy a Rover V8 or Jaguar V8.
Brutally unreliable
