Finally selling my shop truck, it's been great for many years but now will need a transmission rebuilt due to the Overdrive not kicking in anymore. The video shows it still pulls strong through the lower gears but will not shift to the final gear making it hard on the highways, see last clip. 348,000 miles and a big binder full of history.

Awesome bike! That chain looks like it still has that sticky, nasty, brown lube on it, like it just came out the pack. Looks almost like Cosmoline. I can't even imagine the bikes that have went to scrap or the landfill...just heartbreaking.
Just curious, why would you go icon rear shocks and bilstein front and not the other way around?
@@txnhb built the suspension one piece at a time, didn’t really have places like Yotamafia back then making it much easier. If I did it again I’d buy a complete setup
Question 🙋♂ what cleaning 🧽 products did you use on the bars ? What are yo7 using to shine all the rubber? Grips,tires ect,cheers from nyc,just grabbed a 97 candy red big daddy this week on bmx musieum…

Drove up there last year. Got a rear passenger quarter for my ‘61. Jeff’s a great guy and there are always 3 ‘Vairs in the garage and a number of them out front. I wandered through the yard for a while taking photos. Too bad you didn’t get a shot of Jeff’s Ultra Van. Someday I’ll go back and grab a Lakewood and do an LS or EV conversion. You can have just one Corvair.

P38 is a fantastic car. BMW nearly ruined Range Rover. Never buy a Range Rover with a BMW V8! Buy a Rover V8 or Jaguar V8.

@@coolcolschannel8773 in America we call the Parking Brake the E Brake or Emergency Brake. Just two cables.

@@vallanddess just find the right one, stay away from carburetor swapped ones. Find a nice factory fuel injection with minimal rust if possible. 1.7L are my favorite, especially early ones without the bumperettes, and no center console As with any classic Porsche, usually spend a bit past your budget, and it will save you in the long run.
In 1980 to 1990 I owned a 1975 Ford Courier and I LOVED IT!!!! I put that little truck threw hell and it kept on running. It was a tough truck. It was hard to dent. If I sneeze next to my newer 2010 Ford Ranger it dents....Total Garbage!!!!

HI, love the video. Don't ever take it down. I have one in my garage that needs a little work...same color!...so your video motivates me. Quick question: I really like the thin black side trim pieces...Did you buy them and if so where? Same question for the rear whale tale.
@@stevenreecy6612 the door guards, like many 70’s cars, had them installed at the dealer… I know, crazy, but it actually saved all 6 panels from damage over the years. Nowadays people don’t like the look, but back then these were daily drivers! The rear wing is aftermarket, I think made popular but the 916 model, which was more or less a concept
I wanted that damn bike so bad when I was a kid. Wanted it in yellow paint. Never got it though, cool to see one with the odyssey. Pitbull brake

My mom had a E30 just like this I use to drive it all the time same color inside and out. I’m thinking about getting me one because my mom had one now that she passed away I want to get me one in remembering of my mom.

Oh the memories…my mom had a brand new Delphin grey, leather interior, sports seats…thing sounded like a diesel on cold starts, and slow as all heck with that 4500rpm redline paired to a slushbox. First time I ever saw separate tweeters which made that factory Alpine sound so sweet.
@@doca8792 sounds like the perfect daily driver! Those automatics aren’t too bad if you have to though
@@etmracingthanks for the reply. Dinan used to make a chip you could swap. I wound up getting an -es manual eventually and the chip really woke the car up, gave it like a 5300rpm redline.

. I have a 71 1.7 that I just got it sorted out love the car but not a fan of the knock off Fuchs. I love those steelies and think I may go that route. Does that exhaust allow for the Heat exchangers

Beautiful car. I've had 4 and 6 cyl. They are both great and should be kept stock. Hopefully new owner will ditch the spoiler.
@@bryanpiereson8083 they definitely need slight modifications, in stock form they are just plain weak… including the 914-6, which is basically just 1 more lug bolt for visuals. The cars sit way too high in the front for regulation and the wheels are just too tucked in. But once again, just my opinion. I’ve had 17 of them now, including six’s. This car turned heads, stock ones looks like VWs

Had mine for 10 years, until someone hit me and totaled my car. Amazingly enough, the car is so solid that I was able to safely drive it away. Unfortunately it didn't pass the safety check. But I totally miss my 535is...the best car I've ever owned.
I guess this is the Ranch that's Unsafe at Any Speed...

@@richardacevedo8923 so much fun! You get the Porsche feel and aircooled coolness without the overpricing that the 911 badge carries. I have both, and the 914 gets way more seat time.
My 1995 Holmes was 1⅛" Threadless fork. The threaded version was pre 95 I thought?
@@DibeezyTheGifted yeah they still offered it, it was actually a upgrade for the 1 1/8 and 990 mounts Grab a Dans Comp BMX Plus from those years and you’ll see so many cool details for frames, parts, and clothing. Also a great guide for building period correct bikes
