Ordinarily about every six months. Air filter, too. Absolutely NEVER run low on coolant. Always keep a bottle of drinking water in the door pocket. Stop the car if the temperature Guage gets close to the red. Keep the tires at 34psi regardless of what is printed on the door inside. A clunking noise over bumps usually means lower control arm bushings need replacing. Do not park close to parking blocks and sidewalks as you will scratch your spoiler and wheels easily. Sometimes door lock mechanism will need to be lubrication. The module central locking and interior lighting is hidden in the trunk. These M54 engines are dead smooth. To hear them, you have to open the hood (bonnet). If you hear a rattling noise it might be the DISA VALVE. Fix it immediately or the engine will suck in the rivet. It is not an expensive item. Available at Walmart believe it or not. The new one's rivet is assembled in reverse and will not fall into the motor. They seem to last about ten years. Do the maintenance.

Where's this at I new parts to rebuild 3Corvairs?

I almost bought SE proto Big Daddy. I just couldn't spend $350 on a frame so chewed up. Se is near. I could have taken it to them for repair. At the same time I also wanted Tao prototype from the Standard country ad for $550. Oh well.

One of my 1st love's, 1st cars was a Covair. Everytime, I hear the word or see one (which is almost never) I think back to how beautiful that little car was, and how he, and his dad, Art, who worked on them, loved it. If I had the money, I would buy a couple of restored ones, save some unrestored ones, and give them as gifts to myself, him, my daughters and my great niecea and nephews. I LOVE that you took the time to document, and peer into so many of the vehicles. Thanks for taking the time, and for all the information! This was a great video, and I am definitely subscribing, even though I am 3 yrs late to this party 😃 I hope you, and those you love, are doing well. I live in Maryland, so we may even be neighbors!

I just picked up one today.

I'd like to start a business like that. However I'd put each body on a pallet,and not stack one on top of the other. Pull out the drive trains, front suspension cross member's. Put them in a large building, and only take off parts a customer really requests.

I liked the Corvair. Drove it many times in Chicago loop traffic . Handled well nd great in traffic. Best friend had a Corvair spider convertible. I worked for Westinghouse and used to go down from Milwaukee to Chicago and get parts.

I had the mazda version with a rotary in it. It also had flared fenders. It was fast and awfully thirsty.
