Adam, just found your channel, great videos, myself and my son have a few P38s, they are fantastic once sorted and still feel special to drive. Oh, we have a farm too !!
Hi Adam, this is not meant to be any kind of criticism, just sharing my experience. I used to take my P38 to a valeting place and they used a steam cleaner on my carpets. A few years later I had a catastrophic BECM failure due to corrosion which was almost certainly caused by steam cleaning over the years because the BECM is located under one of the front seats. It cost £500-600 to be replaced on top of the recovery truck. Just some food for thought.
Hi mate. I have a 2.5DSE that im running through sorting out to. I've replaced the headlining myself. It's a bit of a faff but very much worth it. I've just taken both axles off, stripped, and resprayed them. Rebushed, the suspension, including the ball joints and redone all the brake lines, new discs, pads, and callipers and refurbed the wheels. Happy to share any hard won knowledge if I can. I seem to remember hearing somewhere that the P38's had amplifiers for each speaker buried in the doors. Assuming you havemt solved it, yet, that may be the problem as a head unit swap is not that starightforward on these, I don't think, although others may know more than me, as I've not got to that job yet.
Adam, great video, i have had my roof lining done, just need my catpets and leather done now, so appreciate this video, and like you, my battery cover was missing, and it does look better with it on,
Haha .. just stumbled upon these videos. Haven't put a video out on YT for a year after some family illness but I have a P38 that I have had on the channel and I can feel your pain ... I've had a lot of them over the years including one when they were nearly new and they are always a pain no matter what. Mine is sitting there with a dodgy door handle and the BECM locked into alarm mode so the car won't start. I should have had the BECM out by now and reprogrammed but other things have taken priority ... really enjoying these videos. Binged watched a few of them now and looking forward to the next one. If i get this thing back on the road will drive over for a collab lol
Hi, I have seen your P38 videos and would be interested to see how your getting on with it, as some of its issues are the same as mine 😂 after seeing your auxiliary belt snap, mine is in the garage having a new one fitted, along with a lot of other work. The previous owner of mine said he’d had trouble with its BECM, I think he fitted a new one.
@@Hipshow_Farm I literally logged on yesterday to have a browse at some BECM videos. I have a few contacts but I haven't actually done anything about the car. It is sat in the yard at the minute but it is on my list of things to jump back on. It was a really good system at the time but the tech dated and it can be a total pain in the ass unfortunately!
@@AllTorque. You can buy a little plug in job from blackbox solutions to fix your BECM issue. It works first time. I had the same issue a few months ago. It comes from Cyprus and it cost me 120 Euro if I remember correctly.
The handbrake light being on is related to the message saying Brake Fluid Low. Hopefully just a top up will sort it, if not try cleaning/checking level sensor. Before the screen went on the heater controls there was an open book symbol on the screen, I think this is telling you there is a fault, I wonder if it could be related to the hot/cold issue? Good luck I got a P38 same time as you and I’ve had to order a set of window switches already!
Hi Adam, can ypu tell me what you sprayed and brushed on the leather before steaming it. Also, whT you sprayed on the plastics as it looked like a different bottle. Mine has been stood for 18 months so I have a challenge getting the mould and crud off, its the same colour as yours.
hi i just purchased a p38 (1996) and am curently going through the same things as you did here, cleaning, replacing the headliner and so one, i also have the exact same issue with the AC, driver side is hot and passenger side works, were you able to locate the issue ?
Hi, Issue was the blend motors, I have had all mine replaced with a new set and they work just fine. For you, it might be worth calibrating them with a nanocom to see if that fixes the issue, otherwise I would say yours possible want replacing too.
Just seen this.. very satisfying vid to watch. well done on bringing it back to life
The car is getting beautiful. Congrats from Brazil !
Great transformation, so much easier to keep on top of it now the heavy liftings been done 👍🏼
Never mind looking better but must smell better even better with conditioner on.

Heater issue will be the blend motor on that side.
Un trabajo impecable. Me gusta este coche y como lo has dejado.

Car detailing is exercising =)
Handbrake switch is located directly under the handbrake lever.
Discovery AMPs arent interchangable if you want ALL speakers to work.
What’s your total spend so far mate ?
Got around £3000.00 into it total
Be-er , I think you mean better !
