Avian Influenza: Biosecurity

From our labs to our farms, keeping the environment safe from potential biological threats is always a top priority. Since the March 2024 outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in our commercial dairy cattle, the need for additional biosecurity has ramped up. Dr. Zelmar Rodriguez, an Assistant Professor of Large Animal Clinical Sciences at the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine, explains what biosecurity is and what we all can do to help mitigate the spread of HPAI through these practices.
