$71 and cant play Netflix in 1080p!? Hell No... if the android box is over $50 and cant run Netflix at 1080p then its trash, there are way better alternatives that do play official netflix for way less. they have some nerve charging that much for this, it should be $30 - 35 max!

Blame Netflix. They make it hard and expensive to have it certified for Netflix. The manufactures have to meet all kinds of craziness to qualify. The KD3 does. Amazon does because long ago before Netflix made such stupid requirements they made a deal with them. Then a few years ago Netflix changed and made all these new requirements and regulations and companies have to guarantee so much in sales of a product.
Who actually gives a sh@t about Netflix? This box is jacked. Besides, there are 3rd party Netflix apks that support 4k that you can easily install.

I have a mecool KM7 which i bought after watching your review.
If i attach a Samsung SSD, the box becomes unstable. Can you do tests with SSD's attached to these Android boxes?

Have you tried casting from a phone using the Netflix app to the box, as it has chromecast built in it should play at whatever resolution the tv is at or does it throw an error code? p.s. I always check your charts for tech stuff keep up the good work :)

I know not everyone is a fan of Stadia. But would like to know if Stadia works well in these android boxes
I would give the KD2 a miss since theres no Ethernet / LAN port but would look at the KM9 Pro since it has it and for the same price.
Nice review. Who uses Netflix any longer? I've got the KM2 box, which is working great. Just added some extra space, and things seem to be in order. However, I can't get the Android System Webview to update normally. Or at all! Any ideas how? Thanks

Blame Netflix for the lack of support. Years ago Netflix was pretty lenient in fact the very first Google certified me cool box the M8S pro actually had 1480 P Netflix on it. Then shortly there after Netflix change their standards and made these crazy requirements that companies must meet in order to get Netflix certification on their box. It seems that from time to time someone will find a workaround and be able to install for Netflix but usually within a few updates the app stops working. It makes no sense that the Katy three is Netflix afford it but this one is not and this one actually has more memory and storage. Although Netflix lost a lot of money recently and a ton of subscribers so maybe they'll get their head out of their butt and not be so strict.

Not something I would try, high risk of bricking. Maybe a launcher is better.

I will never buy Mecool devices again. I have a KM6 Deluxe and HBO MAX is not working properly, there's no sound at all. I tried every setting for sound and HDMI in both TV box and TV...
I have the same issue with HBO Max, there's no sound. Terrible support from Mecool
new android devices should ONLY come USB-C
It's only for the power, it's no biggy.
USB-C falls out easier than Micro USB
No use if it has tv android os. It wont allow to download all the games and apps.
Side load all your games and apps.
@@ChigzTech i have Motorola android tv device I tried and dowload A game which is not accessible from its default playstore. I did tried app you mentioned It ran with laggs due to the weak hardware. And after new updates it stopped working. That game and playstore which I had to download for the app you mentioned also stopped working.
