What a Wonderful World arranged for bass played on my Rob Allen fretless Deep 5. #fretlessbass #jeffdingler #orangeamps #labellstrings #louisarmstrong #bass
Nice to meet you. Fretless bass, very good sound, just a fascinating world! ! It was a great quartet! ! It was great! ! Music activities together, let's do our best! !
Beautiful work, as usual. Nice mix, too; it takes skill to get 4 fretless basses to sound that warm and clear... What is your recording set-up? Thanks for posting this; I always look forward to hearing what you are up to!
Thanks Mark always for your kind words. There's a bit of compression and eq via pedals-an attempt to reduce the harshness of a piezo but still maintain clarity. I'm going into a tube preamp, and then a UAD interface. I use some of the UAD plugins as well-a bit of room reverb, an 1176 compressor and then just into logic. A few effects there as well- which usual depends on the project. Usually some kind of master track EQ to glue it all. Panning helps with some of this stuff- for instance with this being 4 basses, the two basses playing the sort of "alto" and "tenor" parts, they are panned a bit to each side to bring some room and clarity for the melody and low bass which are right down the middle.
@@JeffDinglerBass Thanks for your detailed answer. Good gear + recording chops😊And, yes, I never hear any piezo harshness in your videos...I always listen with headphones...

Perfect, thank you 🤙...
This is so cool it almost sounds more like a synthesizer
That's kind of what I was going for, thank you!
Yes, yes, yes, yes! Four part Rob Allens with your playing and reharmonization on one of Mr. Armstrongs greatest songs ~. Bravo!
