This lock actually puts up a pretty good fight against an angle grinder attack in field test conditions as demonstrated by "I Tested The BEST Bike Locks From Amazon" by TylerTube as it flops around and is hard to hold steady. I hope you do a review on the Mason 220 Pentagon-shaped shackle U-lock that is Sold Secure Diamond. Probably the best lock to complement this folding lock in a multiple-lock setup for an expensive e-bike!
@@bikelockwiki Yeah for me it's more about the ability to lock up to anything, but securely. I'm a bicycle courier and U-Locks just aren't capable at locking up to random light posts etc. I do have a chain lock but it's pretty short and way too heavy to justify it's small length. I feel like a folding lock with angle grinder resistant material would be perfect. They could maybe get the weight down in other ways, like using less mass overall, since it's the material that stops the angle grinders, not the size, right?
@@ChipZilla69 These aren't for sale just yet, but I've spoken with Seatylock and they said it'll be ready for sale by March. Completely understand if you didn't want to wait that long, but if you do, you can sign up for updates on their store page. Otherwise if you don't want to wait and are looking for a folding lock i'd recommend the Trelock FS500/580
@@bikelockwiki The bike i want is on a wait list anyway and i won't get it till may so it could work out. I love how compact these locks are compared to a dlock

@@DarianWade Yep, not much out there on it atm and it's on my to-do list. As it stands, when using a folding lock I use the Forever and haven't had any issues with it yet. Have a great weekend.

No folding lock would last very long, I expect around 20-30 seconds. If you’re interested, on my website I review the best angle grinder proof bike locks.
This guy should be sued for false advertising saying saying this Foldylock forever is cut proof, that's a load of crap he is only using a couple tools like the bolt cutters, hacksaw, what about the angle grinder, oops forgot about that one.
@@joeylee9809angle grinders are loud as fuck, these are for bike thieves to not take your bike, locks don’t replace responsibility and awareness either, but if you’re expecting the typical bike thief to just carry an angle grinder in a public area you’re wild
@@joeylee9809 First of all, even bikelockwiki says no no foldiing would last long against an angle grinder, so you can calm down with the "sue"' overreaction. Second of all, good luck with a bolt cutter on a lock like this one, since it's rectangular it's far from easy to cut through it unless you're a massive guy.
@@stephendelarosa584 In big cities you will have thieves who on clear day day will literally use angle grinders to cut through locks, but overall there's still no big chance of that.
My saddle doesn't offer enough clearance between the saddle rails for this. But I think it'd be possible with many bigger saddles. That said, you can always use a cable extension that will fit under any saddle and allow you to secure other auxiliary components.
6mm. This is the thickest folding lock on the market at the moment. I'll take a measurement soon and get back to you with the plate thickness including the plastic housing.
Looks the same to me, but I don’t have any hand on experience with the Voxom model. But it’s sold secure gold rated, so I’m sure it’s the same thing. Seatylock do provide several companies with products sold under different brand names.
The Axa Ultra, Kryptonite 790 and Trelock FS 580 are actually all the same product. These three companies are owned by Allegion, so it seems that they've simply shared the IP across the three brands. With regards to the comparison between the Forever and these other folding locks, I can't be sure on destruction testing as I'm yet to compare these. However, the Allegion-owned locks use 5.4mm steel plates and a mounting system that doesn't hold the locks silent. Video comparison is on the way.
@@andreamilicia7365Unfortunately the “8mm” they state includes the plastic casing on the links. The links of this lock are only 5.4mm thick underneath.
I don't think there is a waterproof bike lock. I'd recommend cleaning and lubricating the locking mechanism every other month to prevent any corrosion. That said, I don't think you'd have any issues if you left it longer in between cleaning and lubricaating.
was not impressed with the foldylock forever it is coated in hard plastic so the bars are not thicker than the abus 6500 granite athe hard plastic coating will scratch the frame vs the abus ssoft rubber. so I am sticking with my abus 6500.
This won't struggle to fit around your wheels. The internal locking area of the Forever can be found the in the description below. Remember, its shackle is flexible, too and designed to work with all bikes, chunky or skinny!
Too bad the lock holder doesn't have a rubber strap to hold it in place like my cheaper folding bike lock. I had a friend lose his right out of the holder on a ride.
That's a shame to lose a lock like that! However, I'm yet to experience this after using Foldylock products for over four years and definitely prefer the faff-free strapless design.
Yep, the rivets are always going to be the weak point of any folding lock. I understand your attack method, but it'd be pretty difficult to carry out in street conditions.
Appreciate the feedback and I agree it does seem suspect, however we’ve only reviewed two products in total (four if you count comparison locks) and I use both of the Seatylock products to secure my bike. Much more content is on the way, from many different brands. It’s a work in progress! All the best, James
You're right, many folding locks have weak rivets which can easily be cut with nut splitters. Of any folding locks I've used however, the Forever offers the most protection against side cutter attacks, and the best levels of security.

Imagine if they made this lock with the same material that the Litelok x3 is made from. We may just get our first Diamond rated folding lock.
Yeah the only issue is at that point the lock will be so heavy that it’ll probably defeat the point of having a folding lock in the first place 😂
