Oh what a simple bath did for his coat - absolutely stunning. That tail is majestic. Well done for not having to shave or cut out that matting. He was such a good dog. Your grooming worked great, clean coat, nails done, paws done and those mucky ears sorted. All ready for playdates now!

My baby is a St. Bernard and let me tell you, HER PAWS ARE ALWAYS MUDDY! ALWAYS, no matter what I do but she would never stay this still to let me bathe her 😭
I took her to the groomers and they had a field day with her, poor everyone.
I just love these giant babies, I cuddle with her in bed and I'M NEVER COLD ♡
I have a 5 year old male Saint Bernard. He is 170ish pounds. I take him to the groomers for a bath, but also to trim up his coat (backs of legs, behind the ears) to help prevent matting. I do brush him weekly, but the grooming does help a lot!

All of my Saints have been that way. I've also had many mastiffs, and they don't mind the grooming at all.

My old St. Bernard (Jacob Maxwell Brandywine III) would get hot in the summer, and I would set up the osscilating lawn sprinkler, he would stand in it's spray for hours. Quick shampoo and rinse then dry him with my electric leaf blower. Kind of crude, but he loved it, and lived to be 12 at over 200 poinds. These are the best dogs ever!

I'm lucky that I can bathe my own Saints at home as I have low bathtubs. He's beautiful and the grooming job was fantastic. He was way too big for that table though and could have fallen and gotten hurt. That poor boy also had a yeast ear infection. The owners need to be cleaning out his ears on a regular basis. I rescued a 2-year-old mastiff one time, and her owners had never cleaned her ears, and it took years and countless vet visits to get the infection under control.
Might have been big but he sure was a sweetheart! I had a black poodle today that curled in my lap and huddled his head under my arm when I was blow drying him (it was a big poodle lol).

I'm on number six his name is Boo Boo Bear and about the same age as the one in the video currently. Over the years of being owned by Saints I have had them groomed every two months as well as I brush them almost daily as it is better than a Xanax!! I also have the inside of the ears shaved and man does it help to keep the ears cleaner, these ears made me cringe when she opened the flap! Groom House you did an outstanding job, but I almost had a heart attack when you placed him on that table!

Geezus 15 months and he is that big! Can be a bit nasty though this breed around kids my friend has a scar from his temple to his mouth and a puncture scar under his nose where one of these dogs ran across the road and clamped it’s mouth around his face it was awful. But this one seems so calm!

A mean Saint Bernard is a rarity. Injury from them is normally an accident. Them playing together and the kid falls because dog got too close that sort of thing.

I'm suprised you put that dog up high on that size table without him stepping off. I wouldn't feel comfortable doing that myself because of the risk of injury.
I do see there are two of you working on him, so that's quite a bit safer, but perhaps you should invest in a larger hydraulic or electric table for those sized dogs?
