Outstanding I’m a amateur I just bought a 14 week old Double doodle this video was very helpful giving me a clue how to groom him. The most important thing was you making clear the size guards that u used for everything that was key!!
You're really great with dogs! Wish you were local to me! I have an F1b Saint Berdoodle. He has the thick, wooly coat of a Saint with tight curls. He's a ton of work, but a total sweetheart so he's worth it 😂 I got a bad back, too, and have to take lots of breaks bc i don't have a table yet. Thank you for sharing this, for those of us who do most of our own grooming!
Great cut! You should see my guy! He is an adorable goldendoodle! Love keeping him shaggy but a lot of attention needed to keep his coat looking perfect. I admire your dedication to your craft!
First time watching one of your videos! I work at a grooming salon called “dandy doodles” lol. We get A LOT of doodles! We do get other breeds, but we will never have a day where even a single groomer will not have a doodle! If I could critique, thinner the eyes more. The corners of the eyes will open up the face and keep him from looking so sad. Great job!
We have an F1B shipoo, with a VERY strong poodle coat and stature. She's 14 lbs. I prefer easy for me so I opt for nice and short all over and even face, with fluffy ears and tail. Easy peasy. She still looks pretty with the fluffy ears and tail and it is easy for me to maintain between groomings. We have a WONDERFUL groomer who is also a standard poodle breeder, so she's great with grooming a doodle who has such a strong poodle coat.
This is the perfect doodle cut 😍 so glad I found this before my doodles groom appointment in a couple of days. This is exactly what I’ve had in mind but have a hard time explaining it properly. Thank you!
Thank you so much!! It is a 2 guard comb on the body, 0 guard on the face, A guard on the ears trimmed to the leather. A guard on the muzzle, 2 guard on the base of tail and trim the tail tight
So many people have goldendoodles, I guess it's a really popular breed nowadays. I can see how this type of job can do a lot of wear and tear on your body. We appreciate you groomers.
Yes, any type of doodle is a popular these days. Sometimes I consider getting one myself lol. But yes definite wear and tear but we try and muster through it. And we appreciate y’all 🥰🥰💞💞💞
Thank you so much! Good luck and remember, train him while he’s young so he is use to clipper sounds and vibrations on him (face, body, legs feet). Puppies can be persistent with fight with things they don’t want done. Always remember, you’re not hurting them and be stern when needed.
Super amazing skills!! I'd enlist your services in a heartbeat for my doodles if I was closer to your shop. Keep on! You really are an artist with a doctors touch!
I absolutely love your videos! I have watched this same one at least 4 times bc I have a 1 year old who looks like Sam-only more poodle. I wish you were closer and I’d bring him to you! Could you do a video more in depth on how you cut a doodle face like this? I feel like I always get in front of the eyes too short which makes Archie look sad-even with going up on my guard. I love how much you love these babies. You’re so talented. ♥️

I have a little Poochon, poodle & bichon mix. His hair is similar to a doodles, very curly. I just groomed him on my own for the first time & I gotta tell ya, it’s not as easy as it looks. Props to those such as yourself for sharing these helpful videos!

I am watching because i shaved him and got some spots that went to short…looking for pointers…but i also bath, dry (blow dry), and comb before clippers.
So cute!! I have an Aussie doodle. She is overdue a groom, and I have new clippers. I have most of the mats gone, but she won’t let me get under her ears -she shakes her head; and twists away when I try to work on her belly and inner flank.
This video is so impressive..I wish you were my doodles groomer. My doodle does not like grooming from anyone else besides me. She poops every time she gets groomed on the table. Lol. She does great with me, but my back can't handle the bending often. Any suggestions?
Love it! He turned out so cute. I have 2 new doodles and wanted to see the cut…I will probably still turn them into poodles since that is the only cut I know…Ugh! I love a clean face and feet so they just look like long tailed poodles in the end.
We have poodles and doodles at our daycare. We like the look of the poodle cut better than the doodle. Many times the doodle ends up with a big head 😂 Poodles get their faces trimmed down more which give them a cuter look. Poodles also have balls of fur around the ankles. So cute
I had 2 Goldendoodles who were first doodles for my groomer and vet (2003) and they did a great job. They were learning as doodles were almost unheard of back then. I now have 2 Australian Labradoodles who have a "breed standard" groom per the AALD Association. (I know they're not a recognized breed). I like the teddy bear cuts with legs a bit longer. I like a beard, but the ALD's have a particular cut where the ears length follows their jawline...which looks adorable. It's difficult to get a groomer to get it "just right"...especially the first time. I read so many complaints on the FB groups and it makes me sad for the groomers because every person has a different idea and each dog is different in hair type, condition and personality. I've realized communication, kindness, patience and working with the groomer is key. I now provide pics and don't just say "shorter"...i try to give numbers for length. It's been so much better. Most all groomers want to please and give clients what they want, so I will work with them a few times before going elsewhere if they don't get it. Current groomer does a good job now after a few tries. I know it can't be easy. Your did a fantastic job on that sweet boy...really cute face, which, in my opinion, is the key. I can tell you love what you do, as well as your clients! I subscribed. Hope your back hangs in there a long time so you can continue doing what you love.
I have a service dog and I work at a spa so I try to get him done monthly. I usually ask for a shave with exception of his ears and tail. I do like the groomer shaving3 or 4 fingers of the base of his tail so he doesn’t get poo on it.
So from start to finish he takes about 1.5 hours. But depending on the doodle it can take me up to 3hrs. I’m very detailed and I make sure I get them as clean as possible because that is a big part of the haircut. Thank you so much 🥰💞💞
Thank you so much! So for him I use a 3/8 guard with a 30 blade under it on his body and on his face I use a 5/8 guard but a 3/4 guard on his muzzle. The clippers I use currently (not in this video) are the Heininger Opals. I LOVE them!!
New subbie, love your work with all the dogs from your videos! Am curious what kind of dog(s) you might have at home?? I have 2 shi-poms that require a lot of clippering and brushing. Learned how to do it by watching many dog groomers over the last couple of years. I could not afford to take them both in several times/year. I know this is hard work and I can only do 1/day LOL. So I have three lol (they’re in my dog food video if you wanna see what they look like), a Cavalier King Charles, a Yorkipoo, and a Shih Tzu Bichon (supposedly) I got her from a client but she doesn’t seem like a Shihchon so I’m gonna get a DNA test. Yes grooming is a lot. When I groom my dogs at home I do one a day as well 🤣🤣
@@TheLuvOfDogs Good luck with the DNA test. I’m sure you won’t love her any less!! My dogs are from same parents 5 years apart. The boy (in pic) is oldest at 9 and he looks way different than his sister. She is black mostly with some gray. I guess you could call it salt and pepper? Her fur is much more the shitzu type and he has much more pom in him. Since I’m older, I just want to have one dog. When he’s gone my little girl is enough! I have a male sheepadoodle-14 months and about 57 lbs. we get his body and legs very short. He has a long tail and I would call it a fox tail shape. (My groomer does a very nice job with it.) we don’t do a really obvious teddy bear head. It is a bit longer than his body, but not very round.and I like his eyes to be very clear of hair so that he doesn’t run into things in his exuberance. My groomer describes Oliver’s behavior very similar to what you were saying.🙃
Awwwwww, I love sheepadoodles ❤️❤️. Yeah, I believe most doodles have the same behavior characteristics. They’re very sweet and happy but anxious at the same time. Btw, I love the fox tail shape on dogs tails!!
Where are you located? I could sure use a professional golden doodle specialist on hair cutting for my girl. We took her to get a professional cut and it took 3 groomers to get her done. Never took her back. My family cut her the best they can, she doesn’t like to get groomed
Kinda hard to tell, but did you clip him with a number 5f or 7f? I've been a groomer for 31 years and am just curious as to why you don't clip first bathe and then finish.
I have a labradoodle/husky. She is a puppy park accident. You wouldn’t be able to tell she has husky at all. She just looks like a doodle. She hates her hair being longer that 1/2 in on her body. She will whine until I groom her. I love the teddy bear cut, but I’m trying to get it to work with her. She’s the size of a corgi, but is 35lbs. She’s a chunky girl. Trying to get the legs and paws to fit the cut. Definitely will be referencing this video in the future.
I have a shorkie. Her hair is so soft it mats easily. I do her grooming and I cut her hair very short. Makes it a lot easier to keep the mats off. Now my long haired chihuahua/Pomeranian mix can't get the clippers near him. LOL
Where are you located? My darling Lucy is badly matted deep in her coat. I brush her, but it just fluffs her out. I'm worried about her skin and health. Last time she was groomed it was awful... and she wasn't matted then. She was a puppy and it was her first cut.. scared us both
I feel your pain as I have degenerate back amd disc disease and rheumatoid arthritis, so I had to give up work as now I walk with crutches for support.

He is absodoodly precious
Man I would love for you to teach me! I have small dogs, and have such a hard time grooming them. They hate it!
He really is hyper. That bandana really helps calm him down. He's cute.
Lol yes the bandana for sure calmed him down lol
Where are you located? I could sure use a professional golden doodle specialist on hair cutting for my girl. We took her to get a professional cut and it took 3 groomers to get her done. Never took her back. My family cut her the best they can, she doesn’t like to get groomed
@@NelidaBermudez-h9o I am in the mid south
Can you make a break down of the exact guard/blade sizes you use??? Please!
Yes, I used a 3/8 guard on the body, 5/8 guard on the head and a 3/4 guard on the ears
Beautiful job and dog!
❤️ the video! Where are you located?
Thank you so much!! I am in the south.
Body 3/8"
head 2steps up - 5/8"
One step up Muzzle& ears -3/4"
Then trim ears to leather.
Thank you so much🙏🙏🙏
I wish to see you groom the face close up, I didn't learn it from this video.
Can you show how you hold your clippers…i think that may be my problem…trying to see how you do it on the video
Can you use the groomer for the face too?
I have a shorkie. Her hair is so soft it mats easily. I do her grooming and I cut her hair very short. Makes it a lot easier to keep the mats off. Now my long haired chihuahua/Pomeranian mix can't get the clippers near him. LOL
🤣🤣🤣 yes that sounds about right lol. And It’s always the dogs with the softer fur that mats so easy.
What is the difference between teddy bear and puppy cut
Thnx for your skill; I struggle wt creating the face shape(TBH, yorkie, schn, hav, etc,
My dog doesn’t like his legs pulled out like you do. How does one trim those areas without doing that?
we have an year old doodle and what a great job you do, we had to shave her and were given no choice
Oh wow I’m so sorry to hear that. Yeah, back issues are the biggest things groomers struggle with
I would like to try a lion cut, have you ever tried it?
It makes the dog like a tiny lion.
Beautiful!
Thanks!
Thank you 🙏🏾☺️
