Even if you can’t afford a professional groom, there’s no excuse for letting a dog get into this condition, especially if you say you love them. Get out your own pair of scissors and give them a trim, long before the hair gets overgrown and matted… and give them a bath regularly. Even if the “at home style” haircut makes the dog look funny, it will grow out and look fine in a few weeks. Their health and happiness is your #1 priority as a dog owner. No excuses.

What’s incredible to me is that the dog’s skin wasn’t in worse condition!
This is unspeakable for a precious dog to go through such trauma because someone can no longer take care of the dog properly. This little one should have been fostered out for a new adoption.
The guy said that this dog is the only thing that the old woman has, she was sad when they took him. Now they bring him back but promised to check him out periodically and help with grooming and vets

The dog belongs to an elderly lady that took him in. They are going to take care of him people that know that she needs help with it. She is needing a guardian and somebody near her to be her friend so don’t be so judgmental. Thank you doctor for doing all this for this poor animal and the owner.
It's not a case of being judgemental....it's pointing out the obvious....the elderly lady could've asked for some help for her dog's sad situation years ago.....at the very least she could've brushed her dog's coat.....and perhaps trimmed it's coat before it got mattered....etc...if you have a dog then you have a responsibility to take care of it, no matter you're age...and if you can't look after it then seek out help if you're struggling....

My Zoey is a short hair Feist. She was found on the streets of Houston as a puppy. I am grateful to the couple who took her to the vet. She followed them. They were walking their dog. I saw her offered for free on Facebook my sister and niece took me to pick her up. That was four years ago.
All 3 of our girls are short hair. Only Zoey will not allow me to trim her nails so she goes to the vet. About 20 dollars for them to do the trim. I can do Gypsy and Sadie. We also bathe them

I am an old age pensioner and I also have a limited income. I have a large German Shepherd and I cannot possibly wash her. But I do take her at least 4 times annually to a dog groomer to have her properly washed and groomed. That dogs matter hair is not from 2 years growth but longer. The dog is at least 4 times smaller than my dog. If the old lady has to pu itt in the bath tub and wash it occasionally it should suffice. If she really loves the dog she will make a plan.
Even though I have a large dog the dog is my responsibility and I feed it well and give adequate housing and care for the animal. I also throws ball for her and play with her a little when I feed and water her. Even though it is expensive I put aside an adequate amount of money for her food every month. If I find that the expense is just too much with much tears and a heavy heart I will find a good home for her. She protects me and gives me joy and unconditional love. She is as much a part of my family as my own son.
But of course I am not in this ladies shoes and I wish her well.

That dog could have been lost for a long time. It doesn't necessarily mean the owner caused that. I'm so happy you got that precious soul help. Hopefully you looked for the owners in case he was lost.

These TWO PEOPLE ARE HEROES. It dosen't matter if you are a dog lover. In the beggining , to see a video like this tore my heart in two. But, to see the end resault was shear happiness for this beautiful dog, and for me. We,as people , must not walk by an animal when we see it needs our help. This poor dog has probably never had an ounce of love or kindness it's entire life. Ty for showing him.
As he explained, the dog has an owner who loves him and got him grooms but she's old now and without much money. Her husband died. They are helping her now and will keep giving grooms in the future to help her and the dog.
@@Mandy7D7I have Yorkshire terriers and yes, professional grooming can get expensive especially on limited funds or if you have more than one. I taught myself to groom them myself years ago. I was scared to death at first, that I would make a mistake or give them a laughable haircut but it’s not that hard. Any little mistake you make at first grows out quickly and there are all sorts of videos on UA-cam to teach you what to watch for or tips for different breeds. I’m old too but I can’t envision ever letting a pet of mine get into this kind of awful condition. This little fellow is going to wake up to a whole new world. Poor darling.

I remember this case. Still, thank you again to Damjan and Sanja for being so kind to this dog and his older owner. The doggie must have felt 110% better, and his owner happy to have him back.
Yeah but why the repeat. Nearly all on this channel are repeats all the time. Do they take it down after a while and then put it back up to bring more money in? It seems so. I am not even sure they are doing it these days. Maybe concentrating on their cooking segments.
Why would you return the dog to the owner? Just to abuse the dog again. The owner should be in jail for doing this to the animal.
