@@GroomHouse I highly suspect the dog to be a Hungarian Puli, a mopdog, it's a very common breed here. You did the right thing to shave it's fur, because it was a really bad shape even for a Puli. Just be aware that this breed's fur cords naturally, and grows much faster than normal. Their dreadlocks are very high maintenance to keep them clean and nice. Otherwise a very healthy breed. I just wanted you to know that for them the dreads are a wanted things, and not the sign of neglect. But this dog's dreads were beyond saving so you did a good job shaving it.

This brought tears to my eyes. The thought of a poor animal being treated this way, and for his newly adopted Dad made me tear up. Thank you for giving this wonderful boy another chance at the life he deserves. The way he just relaxed and let himself be groomed showed how much he appreciated being taken care of. He was such a good boy! I’m overwhelmed with emotions, but thank you a thousand times for giving this guy a loving home and another chance at life. Bravo!!

He must've brought to pet-home and Vet. You made him stray again. With short fur almost no survive in rain and cold. You deny him feeding ... shame on you! He is being so sweet and so trusting. They can't tell us in words, but I am sure that he really appreciates the help he's receiving. The technician who bathed and groom him needs to be commended for showing such care and patience. It was so cute the way he lifted his paw as if to say thank you.

I had a dog like that. Just as calm and cooperative as could be. Gentlest soul I ever met in my entire life. Groomers and vets were crazy for him because he was so easy and sweet. This old boy here seems same. What a doll. So very happy he got the care he needed and deserved.
Probably it was so calm having been groomed regularly in its early life and was out as a stray so long its hair grew and matted and was that horrific mess.
How handsome he looks!!! Wonderful job and much respect to the groomer!!! Beautiful doggy. He feels so relieved and happy after all he's unfairly been through. So happy he found a loving home.
Such a pretty and calm boy! Accepted his grooming and bath without complain! He absolutely enjoy every minute of his beaute! He's even giving his paw as a 'thank you' gesture! LOVE HIM!!

I like to think this sweet pup knows that everyone is there to help, can't imagine the liberating feeling of losing all that excess weight and getting cleaned and pampered. Seriously, thank you for doing what you did in this video, so beautiful to see.
It wasn't just excess weight. Severely matted hair like this dog had can pull the skin very tight and even cause small tears in extreme cases. It's very likely that this dog was in some degree of pain until all that was removed.

Or, did they have the dog already, then allow the hair to grow out of control and then cut it just to make the video?. as a dog groomer for many years, i have had a few cases like this gladly done for free... no charge. my heart went from breaking at the before to absolute off the charts JOY to see the results of such make overs. this dog behaved sooo well for the whole process, obviously loved the attention and getting cleaned up. a clean dog is a happy dog!

What a patient dog, he was ready and glad to get all that heavy hair off of him, not to mention the fleas and ticks. He must be feeling so much better now. He dealt with that grooming as if he's done it 1,000 times before. Those fleas were huge!

I like how gentle they were to him, it’s probably the reason he was so calm. That and the possibility that he has been groomed in the past, or that it probably just felt good to get rid of the coat and the fleas and ticks. He looks very grateful for the help and deserves it so much.

I was thinking the same thing. He looks to be an expensive breed, and well taken care of before the previous owners fell on hard times. He appears to be old as well. Maybe the previous owner passed and the family left him on the road?

If you come from nothing * you should * appreciate everything.... but that isn’t always the case and for a certainty not every neglected dog would be as calm as this one sometimes the long periods of neglecting can turn them aggressive and unwelcoming to strangers this dog is calm naturally
The fact that he was so calm during the grooming shows that he was cared for at one time. He was used to what was being done. I hope someone kept him and didn't just turn him loose.

If you notice, during this grooming session the dog is very calm. He is accepting this procedure. He must instinctively know it’s for his benefit.

You helped this dog immensely, so kind. Broke my heart to see him at the end on the roadside. Assume his adopted family were nearby! Thanks to them for giving him a home.
Looks almost identical to a dog that showed up at dark, while I walking a dirt road next to my home I was living at in the country in 2015. At first thought it was a small cub. I got him to follow me home. Someone dropped him off. His fur was almost just like that. He was hungry and tired, could tell he was in pain from all the hair matted. I had never groomed a dog before, I was on a mission to get him feeling better. All places were closed, I couldn't stand another minute waiting for him in discomfort so broke out electric razor, scissors, razor I used is uses for humans but it did the job thankfully. I could slowly see life come back to him as hair was coming off. I think he knew I was trying to help him. Took me roughly 6 hours to complete groom, followed with a bath. His personality was a happy camper when done. I'll never forget that amazing experience, I think of it often. So glad he came into my life. I Thank You so much for all you do for those precious babies, very much appreciated.

This brought tears to my eyes. The thought of a poor animal being treated this way, and for his newly adopted Dad made me tear up. Thank you for giving this wonderful boy another chance at the life he deserves. The way he just relaxed and let himself be groomed showed how much he appreciated being taken care of. I had a dog like that. Just as calm and cooperative as could be. Gentlest soul I ever met in my entire life. Groomers and vets were crazy for him because he was so easy and sweet. This old boy here seems same. What a doll. So very happy he got the care he needed and deserved.

@Fermi Surface I would say wise. That puppers 100% understood what was going on. As in he has experienced groomers probably quite a lot in his past.
Probably it was so calm having been groomed regularly in its early life and was out as a stray so long its hair grew and matted and was that horrific mess.
How handsome he looks!!! Wonderful job and much respect to the groomer!!! Beautiful doggy. He feels so relieved and happy after all he's unfairly been through. So happy he found a loving home.
Such a pretty and calm boy! Accepted his grooming and bath without complain! He absolutely enjoy every minute of his beaute! He's even giving his paw as a 'thank you' gesture! LOVE HIM!!

I like to think this sweet pup knows that everyone is there to help, can't imagine the liberating feeling of losing all that excess weight and getting cleaned and pampered. Seriously, thank you for doing what you did in this video, so beautiful to see.
It wasn't just excess weight.
Severely matted hair like this dog had can pull the skin very tight and even cause small tears in extreme cases.
It's very likely that this dog was in some degree of pain until all that was removed.

Or, did they have the dog already, then allow the hair to grow out of control and then cut it just to make the video?. After all clicks earn cash, that would also justify the dog being so calm because it was used to be around the person. These videos earn creators a LOT of cash and they need content. as a dog groomer for many years, i have had a few cases like this gladly done for free... no charge. my heart went from breaking at the before to absolute off the charts JOY to see the results of such make overs. this dog behaved sooo well for the whole process, obviously loved the attention and getting cleaned up. a clean dog is a happy dog!

Probably sedated him to make it less stressful. My neighbor has this same breed and they can be "sketchy" about haircuts and vet visits.

What a patient dog, he was ready and glad to get all that heavy hair off of him, not to mention the fleas and ticks. He must be feeling so much better now. He dealt with that grooming as if he's done it 1,000 times before. Those fleas were huge!

Being able to groom a dog is nothing less than an amazing, much practiced, artistic talent!! I was mesmerized from beginning to end......literally. Thank you for loving animals. Thank you, forgiving them the care they need and a forever home. I cannot imagine the trauma, confusion and fear this precious doggy has been through these past two weeks. I like how gentle they were to him, it’s probably the reason he was so calm. That and the possibility that he has been groomed in the past, or that it probably just felt good to get rid of the coat and the fleas and ticks. He looks very grateful for the help and deserves it so much.

Having had dogs that I groomed in the past, it’s obvious this baby was accustomed to being taken care of. He was more than ready for this grooming and bath. He’s beautiful. Thanks to everyone who’s giving him a new lease on life.

I was thinking the same thing. He looks to be an expensive breed, and well taken care of before the previous owners fell on hard times. He appears to be old as well. Maybe the previous owner passed and the family left him on the road?

If you come from nothing * you should * appreciate everything.... but that isn’t always the case and for a certainty not every neglected dog would be as calm as this one sometimes the long periods of neglecting can turn them aggressive and unwelcoming to strangers this dog is calm naturally

The fact that he was so calm during the grooming shows that he was cared for at one time. He was used to what was being done. I hope someone kept him and didn't just turn him loose.

The love and the patience this groomer took with this dog was immensely excellent! The dog was so calm and still, as of he knew this woman was an Angel taking care of him! I can"t get over how relaxed he was with her! I'm so glad he was found and someone would be taking better care of him! Kudos to everyone involved in helping him! He looked like such a precious pup, and he"s going to definitely make someone a wonderful pet!

This is heartbreaking to see an animal so neglected. No animal should ever have to be in such a distressing situation such as this. Thank you for having him groomed. I bet he feels 100% better. If you notice, during this grooming session the dog is very calm. He is accepting this procedure. He must instinctively know it’s for his benefit.
Yes but that is unnaturally calm. Even happy dogs will wag their tails or pant slightly. He is clearly emotionally dead inside and no longer cares about his fate, which is quite the correct reaction

Looks almost identical to a dog that showed up at dark, while I walking a dirt road next to my home I was living at in the country in 2015.
At first thought it was a small cub. I got him to follow me home. Someone dropped him off. His fur was almost just like that. He was hungry and tired, could tell he was in pain from all the hair matted. I had never groomed a dog before, I was on a mission to get him feeling better. All places were closed, I couldn't stand another minute waiting for him in discomfort so broke out electric razor, scissors, razor I used is uses for humans but it did the job thankfully. I could slowly see life come back to him as hair was coming off. I think he knew I was trying to help him. Took me roughly 6 hours to complete groom, followed with a bath. His personality was a happy camper when done. I'll never forget that amazing experience, I think of it often. So glad he came into my life.
