6:03 I just lost my 8 months old daughter due to a genetic problem in her heart, never in my life I've been stronger than ever, I stood by her bed while she passed away, not a single tear dropped, I've handled everything pretty well, of course there's a constant pain but the idea of staying strong and taking care of my family, not being a pussy and handle everything as I should as a grown man, that motivated me to keep the boat floating. Thanks Coach, RIP

Someone with such a colorful life through the 90s and 2000s in several countries, a journalist, and varied ups and downs through life won't be such an idiot to throw his life away.
Especially when he has wife and 2 kids.
The whole thing was a plot to disappear of the radar.
The Americans would have taken him into witness protection, or exchanged him secretly for Russian prisoners in the US.
He's probably laughing as he sees these videos with his cigar and whiskey on a yacht in the Caribbean or Pacific lol.
I remember a few crypto scammers and exchange owners have pulled the same stunt over the past few years.

She looked like an 80s person from these days, she used to walk by hersel, cook by herself, she never needed help for her daily activities, of course my mom was there just in case, always takin care of her.

I think it was easier for kings to talk their subjects into picking up weapons and going to war, to kill and to risk be killed, it was easier if there was a God and a Heaven. Also, the Devine right of kings and other authoritarian structures (like communities and families) hold together better when a God establishes them by Devine authority.

I never could get straight logical answers to my questions about the inaccuracies in religious texts.
If you must use faith to believe in the existence of magic and supernatural beings, then you can use faith to believe in anything, including leprechauns and faeries.
When I met a very dedicated theist, he tried to prove the existence of his god with provably incorrect logical fallacies and scientific illiteracy.
That motivated me on a journey of many years to understand atheism, reason, and evidence.
That's when I realized that their beliefs were all about being scared to death of dying.

"In all of human history, the supernatural has never turned out to be the right answer to anything: Natural explanations of phenomena have replaced supernatural ones thousands upon thousands of times, while supernatural explanations have replaced natural ones exactly never." -- Greta Christina

"The thing that uniquely defines religion, the thing that sets it apart from every other ideology or hypothesis or social network, is the belief in unverifiable supernatural entities. Of course it has other elements; community, charity, philosophy, inspiration for art, etc. But those things exist in the secular world, too. They're not specific to religion. ... Religion is ultimately dependent on belief in invisible beings, inaudible voices, intangible entities, undetectable forces, and events and judgments that happen after we die.
And it is therefore uniquely armored against criticism, questioning, and self-correction. It is uniquely armored against anything that might stop it from spinning into extreme absurdity, extreme denial of reality ... and extreme, grotesque immorality." -- Greta Christina / AlterNet, November 12, 2009

  • @MgtowRubicon
    @MgtowRubicon 11 місяців тому

"Christianity is not a moral system, it is an immoral system because it specifically says that there aren't necessarily consequences that you're going to have to pay because of a loophole. What is the loophole? It has nothing to do with how good you are or how morally you act or anything else. It has to do with whether or not you're willing to be a sycophant to an idea. If you are, then there is now an exception for which you no longer have to suffer a penalty for this. So, the idea that secular morality offers no guarantee that people will ever pay for their crimes and their atrocities is not an argument against secular morality because that is a tenet of Christianity. It is the foundation. Your idea that a Christian God is just is directly contradicted by the idea that the Christian God is merciful perfect Justice. Perfect and any Mercy are in are necessarily directly in contradiction because Mercy is a suspension of Justice." -- Matt Dillahunty

I respect you more than I did before. May you not have to loose everything like I have. I was young studying to be a minister at the age if 18. God was everything to me and the scriptures. Long story and one I could not share with anyone. I do not believe in any god that you would recognize. Yes I do believe that god Is, but that gods is all things, everything and going though the same as us and is us being born Now. Trying all things ! What works goes forward what does not work goes extinct, all things serving a purpose even if it is just
A failed attempt at a better way. I think I am seeing life or existence/ god evolving. Energy, just changes and never can be lost! I think this thing we call life will be eventually remembered by all in the end. So help god evolve, your life depends on it. If god/life fails there will be Nothing !

Neither science nor common sense supports the idea that life is random in my opinion. A profound discussion but... Lira was wrong with the idea that we "figured everything out". We really don't know much more than the ancient Greeks. Life, the spirit and the soul still have mysteries that can't be explained. No religion is perfect in every premise and by definition are all full of errors. I am a Christian and fully expect the exposure of errors in my thinking when I see the other side.

It wasn’t just that people were trying to hold out hope of seeing their kids again after they died. It also was generally back in the day life sucked ass. Most of the time was a struggle for survival and they gave people hope that they were going to have a nice afterlife and that someday for them things will get better in the next life it helps people to be able to go on living their life. In addition to that things like the 10 Commandments gave a set of rules in order to be able to have a society if you disregard the 10 Commandments and people do mostly what they want it’s very hard to have any kind of civilization but if there was real certain forest some kind of civilization can probably be made so religion was also used to keep people in line as far as that is concerned as well. And also people needed something to blame when life went wrong because they didn’t have the science to know exactly what happened God was a good spot to point the blame because it cannot be disproven.

Only pure and simple observation. Then this was by non-observers botched into something like a religious interpretation.

    *Circular Reasoning*
    circulus in demonstrando
(also known as: paradoxical thinking, circular argument, circular cause and consequence, reasoning in a circle, vicious circle)
Description: A type of reasoning in which the proposition is supported by the premises, which is supported by the proposition, creating a circle in reasoning where no useful information is being shared. This fallacy is often quite humorous.
Logical Form: X is true because of Y. Y is true because X
    Example #1:
Pvt. Joe Bowers: What are these electrolytes? Do you even know?
Secretary of State: They're... what they use to make Brawndo!
Pvt. Joe Bowers: But why do they use them to make Brawndo?
Secretary of Defense: [raises hand after a pause] Because Brawndo’s got electrolytes.
Explanation: This example is from a favorite movie of mine, Idiocracy, where Pvt. Joe Bowers (played by Luke Wilson) is dealing with a bunch of not-very-smart guys from the future. Joe is not getting any useful information about electrolytes, no matter how hard he tries.
    Example #2:
The Bible is the Word of God because God tells us it is... in the Bible.
Explanation: This is a very serious circular argument on which many people base their entire lives. This is like getting an e-mail from a Nigerian prince, offering to give you his billion dollar fortune, but only after you wire him a "good will" offering of $50,000. Of course, you are skeptical until you read the final line in the e-mail that reads "I, prince Nubadola, assure you that this is my message, and it is legitimate. You can trust this e-mail and any others that come from me." Now you know it is legitimate... because it says so in the e-mail.
