While we work out what's up with Supergramps, we have some fresh euro nugget episodes for you...
Stoked to give this car the time and attention it deserves, its a great looking thing with a very capable engine. There will be 2 or 3 more videos coming out on repairing and modifying this then we'll be hitting you with some fresh junk. Thanks for watching!

Thanks lads! This project was the reason I decided to actively look for an LS for my own BMW, an E36. It was always the end-goal of my Bimmer to put an LS in it, and when I watched this project I realised the money I had saved up to paint the car would be enough to get an LS1 where I live... I also realised I should either find an LS1 now, or they'll become too expensive to ever do it. I found a motor at the start of the year, snapped the same oil pump bolt as you, Moog, but am currently waiting for motormounts to arrive in the mail from the United States of Awesome! :D

Hate all you want on GM products, but the LS series of engines is one of the best bang for the buck, reliable, big power potential engines known. The E30 speaks for itself. How BMW went from the E30 to the garbage they sell now is beyond me 🙄 Would love to see more on this particular build. Just amazing, and is something most people can do themselves. Kits are sold all over the world to do this to an E30. Keep up the good work guys👍😎

5/16, 3/8, 8mm, or 9mm dowel pins are the ticket for holding lifters in place while swapping the cam.
However, even using multiple small dowels (IE Tig Rod.. ask me how I know.. lol), work just fine.
Funny to see you guys venture into LS engines right as I finally go into building myself an LS car as well. Great minds think alike.

I'm stoked that they brought back the e30 for more refinement! I'm also glad they kept the LS engine in it; I've always been fond of LS swaps in any car. Would it have been cool to see them do a turbocharged bimmer L6? Yeah of course. Is the LS the more practical and logical choice? Absolutely (And I'm saying this as a very big BMW fan). If they went with say an N54/N55 or b58 then it would have to be more episodes. This e30 revamp series is supposed to be a good filler until super gramps is figured out; so not a slew of videos like the civic build they just finished. I totally agree with keeping it LS swapped.

I liked the car, the LS wasn't the most interesting but it was still cool. My biggest qualm was just how dumb the COD stuff was. Now we get to see it without it.

Someone else said that Moog's tracks for this episode emphasizes his enthusiasm for the build. And they're right - even the backing track for the intro alone is 1980's excitement. Getting a bit of Anders Enger Jensen in there, are you?

Not only MCM, there’s some other UA-camrs that are/have done E30s recently. And some of these are also LS swaps. I just hope E36s remain under the radar until I can find a decent one.

IIRC POR15 paint is similar to superglue in its make up. I found this out after painting some chassis parts and getting it all over my hands and clothes to find out that it would take weeks to come off my hands. Actually took closer to 2 months - yep its pretty durable paint!! Clothes went IN THE BIN.

Good on you, that you're putting it in the hours in this. It was a great build. Also, pretty much going to be one of the last great times to have fun with a car like this whilst it's cheap-ish. I think that because of BMW's current senile design, these older units might appreciate in price. I'm certainly not giving up mine after seeing the last ... thing, that came out of the factory.
