The reason why the switch of the controller didn't "work" is simple... It's just a on/off switch. It's not responsible for rebooting the entire power network like the fuse switches you see on a power outage.
I don't know we have a effing gun that 3d prints space elevators and nuclear reactors but devices can't automatically power on when they receive power?
@@julianwalde4810that’s the point of your breaker tripping. Your machines consume more power than you create. Does your breaker at home fix when you unplug something?
When you were running around with that chainsaw in your base, I thought for sure you were playing Doom back there. The design of your buildings nearly feels like a classic Doom arena on the inside.
It is very much in the experimental and it is very nice It's my primary mode of transit prior to trains and even then I use them lol It's not *fully* stable though, you can't seem to select which line you go to yet, and sometimes it just decides a moderate angle is something that should fling you off. Otherwise though, great stuff for sure
In the case shown in the video, it might have been because the line was too steep and he bumped his head. I’ve had trouble with steep lines like that before.
For megaprojects like you do there's a better inventory mod called ThousandSlots which, as it sounds, adds a T1 milestone that unlocks 1000 inventory slots for the low low price of nothing. I'd highly recommend it because it will basically quadruple the size of your inventory and I know from doing some big projects myself that the usual inventory expanders just aren't enough
They should add a farm building for growing and harvesting wood and leaves, which can then be made to fully automate biomass. Maybe it could be started with a new seed item and then left to replant and regrow forever (With a water supply)? I think that would be quite useful so we aren't constantly going out for trees and leaves. Probably a mid-game building, in a new milestone in the same tier as mk.1 pipes.
Kibitz ! You could totally automate the plutonium going to the extra Nuclear power plant by changing your sink switch to priority group 3 to always keep your base powered !
you should look into Nog's powersuits some massive improvements to flight modules including midair refueling so you can remain airborne on a jetpack as long as you have fuel in your inventory
I run into the double restart on power all the time. It just means the system doesn't understand it has enough power the first time, so you restart it and it will run for at least a few seconds instead of immediately reacting. Weird but whatever. Boot twice!
Been binge watching this playthrough occasionally over the last month. I've finally caught up and kinda sad about that. But, I can finally catch the streams and they'll make sense!!!! Look forward to all the future videos!
IIRC, Cofee Stain keeps the nodes working instead of breaking everything. Like when the mk1 pumps were shorter, and the pipes would not connect, but the pumps kept on chugging.
Oh man so with editing lag I'm guessing you made this before the fix to Update 8 and honestly cheers to you and everyone that made content in that. I run a nuclear capable factory (20 OC uranium reactors plus a number of plutonium reactors below max capacity) and it was still so frustrating to deal with bugs. that said, respect to the 0 crashes i got the entire time coffee stain was gone.....
Best way to get tickets is to have every production line end in an overflow Awesome Sink. One smart splitter, one belt, one sink, one cable, per line is infinite tickets. I wish I could crunch the rocks too, since I can't I overbuild refineries and smelters. I don't know whats up with the math, but the delay in the processing allows that first layer that handles the raw materials to exceed what the calculation says it should. And if you make the belts feeding the raw materials in the correct length(long enough to hold a full load for the machine, 30, 45, whatever) nothing ever is idle. There is some gap that transport time and production process creates that defies the spreadsheet.
29:58. Who else agrees that the watch tower isn’t tall enough? How is the watch tower going to “watch” if it can’t see all sides of itself? Also gives more vertical storage space.
I only use packaged liquid biofuel for my jetpack now. It's not the fastest but it does let you fly the longest/furthest, (slide jump from height I can cross almost a whole biome) and to me that is great. All I have set up is a single packager with a refinery underclocked to match the packager, and a water extractor underclocked to match the refinery. Then it is all fed bio fuel that first goes through a splitter/merger setup that splits off 12 biofuel for every 200 that goes in, as we still need normal bio fuel for the pesky chainsaw. Before all THAT I have a Bio Processing plant, that is just a line of 13 constructers with some handling turning grass, wood, shrooms into biomass, then that into bio fuel, while also turning animal parts into capsules, slugs into power shards, peddles into cartridges, with all the bio fuel split off to go down to the setup to turn most into packaged biofuel that then goes back into the line with everything else to my central storage. It's a crazy fun setup and just from casual play I have like... 5 double bins worth of packaged bio fuel to where I'm even powering my explorer with it. Just goes to show you don't need a huge setup, or one that runs non stop. A small setup that runs as needed will keep you more then stocked up.
My world got "confused" with the update that changed the upper part of the map, where I used to have a train yard exclusively for oil. Now, this train yard is inside a giant rock, the oil pumps are underneath the map and the new, relocated crude oil spots are not recognized as nodes as I cannot built anything on them. But: Oil is still being pumped, loaded and transported. I have no idea how to "fix" this visually. It works function wise. Same with your "copper" node still being limestone. I guess the devs have put in a safeguard prevent catastrophic outcomes if maps are carried over to another patch.
I watched through this Vid and am still trying to process how ya manage to name this Vid the way ya did then go through the entire Episode without blowing up your Nuclear Power and turn your whole Game Save into Fallout 4 then at the end of your Vid, have the Title of the Vid still unchanged... :P
you should put a smart spliter on the canister belt and set it to over flow so if you do run in to power problems it will not keep take half of the contaners.
Update 7s overclocking change completely broke my 200 hour factory because I had almost every machine overclocked to save space. I haven’t been back to the game since lol
I have made 3 iterations of a bioprocessing plant. My most recent one processes everything biological, and if supplied with outside quickwire, rubber, empty canisters, and aluminum casing, will make both filters, all types of biofuel, fabric, color cartridges and tickets from the Alien DNA. The weird issue with the power not turning on with the priority switch but does with the power pole; is it because you didn't have the switch assigned to a group? Like, without a group it's the lowest priority or a null priority, so it turns itself off.

They did that when they added blenders and packagers luckily. They grandfathered in the refinery setup I still had more or less like with t3 miners.
