Little tip I only just found out. You can set the default foundation type in the menu as concrete. There's a little drop down next to all of the foundations in the Q menu that says ficsit foundation. Drop it down and it allows you to replace it with concrete. This saves me so much time not having to go back through and re paint everything as concrete
You could always select the foundation you want to build then open the selection wheel menu (by holding 'e' I think, been a while since I played) then click the left mouse button to cycle through the available materials you've unlocked. Or if you're adding to existing concrete foundation, click on it with middle mouse wheel to select that item for copying.
In the build menu “q” there is a triage option that let you show every type on the right side of the section title. Drop down menu let you select the type. I placed the concrete ones in my bar. A simple tip :)
@@tristen9736 I use the (alt + mousewheel) hotbars for almost everything. If I'm using it often, like concrete foundations, it always goes onto a hotbar. Was merely pointing out some of the other ways to get things done on the fly. Happy hunting.
❤It just amazes me how creative video games allow us to be, and it amazes me that kibz is uploading with such consistency and he is finally ready for Space Elavator Parts. I have a build idea if you could consider it: NUCLEAR PASTA DISPLAY ROOM Structure: Make a room with the 4 walls being made of Nuclear Pasta flowing on mk1 conveyor lifts. Their will be a small viweing platform in the middle, and their will be a trench of sorts between the platform and the "walls". The same pattern will be on the ceiling looking down on us and a "trench" of sorts between a protrusion (of the same dimensions as the viewing platform) and the walls. Decoration: The entire room will have dark colours, except the trenches from which blue glow will be emanating. Using this template I hope kibz' imagination can take off. I would love to see your spin on the idea as a room in your mega nuclear pasta factory.
One thing I think could spice the window on the plastic building up a bit, could be using a half foundation to place the glass in the middle area of the window box and then just put full foundations back! :)

Love the paint job on the plastic plant. I never thought about painting the machines different colors depending on what they’re producing. Like, its such a simple concept, i cant believe I didn’t think about that before!
I had the same problem you had with the aluminium factory, but then with my Nobelisk factory. I had simply forgotten to hook up an assembler to the load balancer I had hooked up to the actual Nobelisk production
For your nuclear plant... what about boxing in and possibly glassing in the entire plant except for the tops so that they continue to spew their smoke out. Remember to leave you some access points on the top so you can get into it. BIG pillars holding up the roof...
I find using the outer corner extension and outer corner quarter pipe foundations with various materials are the easiest and most pleasant way to spruce up a shoebox/blank wall.
I've never really thought of it before, but color coding machines based on what they're making is an amazing idea, especially for large facilities. Though, the only large facility I've ever actually made was a coal power plant that consumed 4320 coal per minute. Otherwise, the closest I've come to an actual factory building is placing down a ton of concrete as a platform to build the rows of machines on.
Hey, Kibs, if you're looking for inspiration of architectural features that would mesh with the factory, I suggest looking at buildings in the 'Heroic/Brutalist' style- like the Barbican Center and The National Theatre in London. They use big walls and concrete very well and find fun ways to break up large structures with big decorations. I think the aesthetic goes very well with satisfactory.
It is honestly funny how much the nuclear power just blocks progress because something goes horribly wrong and then you fix it then something different goes wrong, you lose your mind, eventually fix it, then continue on to something different, then it breaks, AGAIN, then you start having a breakdown, and fix that. Let's just hope everything is just fine so you can start making some pasta.
Hello Kibitz! i've found your channel not that long ago and i got back into Satisfactory after a few of your videos! so thanks for reminding me of this gem of a game I got back into my save and after 15 hours i managed to get 2 radio component Manufacturer running After that i've now been building a Fuel/Turbo Fuel Power plant on the western shore for over 65 god forsaken HOURS and finally my Heavy Mod Frame supply has run dry and i can't finish the last 4 Generator lines. Should have painted the battery room red on the left, blue on the right with yellow lights in the middle, so the whole room looks like the battery texture.

Hey Kibitz, love the video! What do you think about factories fetching batteries instead of the battery factory sending them out? This way you don't have to specify the ports at the battery factory. They just provide batteries for whatever factory needs some and comes there to take them. I have 300 batteries per minute and 4 ports providing batteries. Thus far, about a dozen factories have drones flying out to fetch some batteries. Love your content and I love the new paint!!
Question. When update 7 comes around, will you be continuing this series or starting a new world. If you do start a new world, will you be doing the same as this one, where you start the world and build up to where you left off on update 6. I'm really hoping you do start a new world and start from scratch. I get why you started this update the way you did, however I felt it was cheaty af. Either way, I still enjoy your content. Keep up the great work that you do.
The big problem with the drones is the supply of batteries. In addition to ports A and B, you would also need a port C (at the battery factory), which supplies one of the other ports with batteries. And if they aren't used up fast enough, Drone C will block the entire logistics. So it's not really well thought out, because complete automation of the drone ports is not possible. You always have to intervene with batteries yourself. Or do I have a misconception here?
