I am having this surgery April 27th. I have had a lot of surgeries, but I am very nervous for this surgery. I am having mine done by a neurosurgeon and they said I might get to go home the same day. I really don’t think that’s such a great idea. I live 4-1/2 hours away from the surgery center. I am 44 and I have been having problems for about 15 years. I have chronic daily migraines . I have had so many surgeries for these. No one ever thought that maybe my neck problems could be causing my migraines. Anyways sorry for the long message. I hope you are doing good
I had a neurosurgeon do mine, too. Can you ask to stay one night, especially since you have to be in the car for so long afterwards? I had to drive 1.5 hours to have my surgery and I stayed one night and my husband drove me home the next day around lunchtime. I am in the USA and my surgery went perfectly. I was so nervous, too but my surgery was easy compared to what I thought it was going to be like. The recovery is hard because you have to be so CAREFUL with your head/neck for SO LONG. I, too, have had the migraines for years. My problems have been going on for 20 years and I never knew it was because of my neck. @@necksurgerymama3157 I am going to ask when I am there if I can stay the night. I also have what is called primary immunodeficiency. I have to get a whole new immune system every 3 weeks. I have been doing this for 10 years now and will do it for life. So I get infections really easily. It’s a long complicated thing. I really hope you are doing well and healing fast. I’m so embarrassed to be on camera but I felt like this is something that is hard to find first hand experiences on, so I wanted to share in hopes of being that for others. I’m a total amateur and I probably always will be, but I figured sharing is better than not sharing. 💕 My daughter has a primary immunodeficiency so I know what you’re talking about. I get my surgery this Tuesday. I like that brace I think I ask for that one
