I don't see any mistake. the play was perfect imo and the 11 ore rolling early for you was a huge boost. I would have traded with black to get a city 100 times out of 100. He was going to get a city sooner or later with his setup, you instead were not. Point is that black drew exactly the devs he needed. 2 vps and just 3 knights to get army and no more... that's exactly the devs you want when u're playing full ows like he was. Had he drawn 5 knights instead.... you would have won.
10 minutes in I thought this game would be the staple “perfect game”, but even with the loss I cant find anything you did explicitly wrong. Your numbers hit, and black’s devs hit exactly as they needed to

not sure why you kept blocking the wheat. The obvious block to me is the 9 ore. Black had multiple wheat spots, which only really become valuable with the ore. The wheat blocked other opponents, but your main concern was definitely black.

The thing is, Dylan takes a lot of time up even when he doesn’t have decisions to make. This is a resource and he is totally allowed to use it, but I also get frustrated when someone takes 30 seconds to pass with 1 card in hand and no devs (I didn’t see that this game but I see Dylan do it quite a bit). Now he has a good reason, he’s making content which is enhancing the games popularity, so it’s all cool in my book. But I would hate playing against it.

I've never heard of or played this game but I still watched the whole video. Just amazing content!

Blue was ridiculous here though, I’m just saying I see this happen in a lot of Dylan’s games.
Not seeing it in this game could easily just be a result of the editing considering how much players are talking about it. Last turn of the game he is sitting on 2 brick and writes "I think Black wins" and then there is a jump cut where black says "Only if you will pass" and he finally passes turn. Chances are that DyLighted sat there commentating the game for a bit before finally passing.

Yea I was curious as to why 9 ore wasnt being blocked. 6 wheat slows orange and black sure, but the 9 ore would make blacks hand unplayable
Looked pretty clean. Only thing would be maybe highlight Black being close to Largest Army and hype them up as a big threat
would love to see some games on the specialty boards like volcano and black forest. those make for such interesting videos and would love to see your strategies
I like the 6:9:12 and then the 8:3:4 starting with a road with a goal to expand down to the wheat port.
Great game! I think you did all you could to be honest. Hindsight is 20/20 so you could argue maybe you should have bought a dev card or two. But either way sometimes its just hard to outpace someone with better production like the 9/6/5
I like that at the end the one guy wanted to report you, but then won.
I feel blocking Black’s ore was more important than blocking their wheat on 5 or 6 as it hampers the other players from buying devs and gives black free way to army.

Is it because you lose out on the 11 ore? I think that after you get brick port, you can swing to 4-11 ore.

Late in the game, you rob the 6 wheat space, I would have done the 9 ore space. Black has plenty of wheat, they just need the 9 to build cities and devs.
why not settlements in 8 3 4, 6 3 9? GIves you sheep which you're lacking, access to the 3:1 port in the north, plus triple brick which is good for the south port

I think u should have blocked 9 stone instead of wheat. He had tones of wheat with 5-6 but only 9 stone
GG in my opinion. I mean I didn't really see any mistakes. There was pacing at the beginning, but but a dev over the city I think would be a mistake and so you're forced to pace fast. As for Blue reporting you, what for? Whooping their butt?

Before the "I'm reporting" comment, Blue made a lot of comments about how long Red was taking to make moves. "Can we please speed this up", etc. I assume they thought Red was taking so long just to troll/be disruptive, rather than legitimately taking that long to make moves.
If you were worried about orange cutting you off on the 4 11 you could have pointed towards the desert instead right? I’m not sure if you aren’t allowed to settle with 0 production.
He also wanted to get longest road. Pointing 2 roads toward the desert would make it so he has 2 segments of 4.

Why were they talking about reporting you? Was it cus of you taking thinking time compared to them? The more I watch your series about this, the more the community is looking like the one in League of Legends, super toxic :P Which is surprising, for some reason I thought catan/colonist would just be happy-go-lucky people trying to win, with the occasional table talk of course, for strategy purposes.
but the problem is random rolls , I had games where 6 rolled only 5-7 times

Also, I love how you don't address the elephant in the room which is how toxic chat gets on Colonist. I'm surprised it's so prevalent even at high ranks but maybe I shouldn't be.

@6:30 why wouldn't you point your road towards the 3:1 port? it defends the brick port from orange and gives you a chance to get on the 3:1 before they do
You didn't make really all that many mistakes. Your only mistake, wasn't going first, and placing YOUR settlement on that disgusting 5/6/9. That 9 ore, with the other 2 being 11's, and it kissing that ore port. Yeah you were running against the wind the entire game, even though you made up ground. It was really well played regardless!
