Thanks so much for this. We dove the main wall today for the first time. Your directions and line ups were super helpful.

What thickness of wetsuit do you typically dive in for SD diving?

For scuba, minimum 7mm but a lot of people use drysuits. You can get away with a 3mm for snorkeling.

Have you ever seen a great white out there?

Not while diving but Ive seen lots of juveniles from the cliffs near Blacks Beach. They're small though and eat small things like stingrays, not people.

don't get me wrong love this video, but was there more sea life in the 1970's, I use to free dive back then. seems like a lot of sea life is dead. am I wrong ?

I wasn't diving in the 70s but this dive is more about the smaller critters, octopus, crab, lobster, nudibranch. You'll mostly see macro photography in this area.
I see a lot more of the larger life in the kelp. More fish, lobsters, sharks, giant sea bass.
I'd been told that the area is coming back after the area had been converted to a protected area but I can't say for sure. I would have loved to have seen it then though.

if you go south in the bay and coves tons of leopards around over there.. more reef around so ton more lobster. shores is weird as its a barren sand desert.

Didn't look very clear. Is that about the average visibility? I'm new to diving SD so I don't know what good is yet. Thx for the video!

As Brian mentioned it's a bit better than the average visibility here. It's typical California diving unless you head to Catalina or the other Channel Islands. You learn to really enjoy it here though.
