This song makes me want to cry when I hear it. I'm sure my understanding of the lyrics is wrong, but I always imagine someone lonely, someone who's pushed away everyone they've known and retreated to be by themself, confined from the rest of the world and not wanting to hurt anyone else. Wanting to abandon everything in an attempt to save others from their acts... Ashamed of all that they are now. I identify with it so much, it hurts.
You know what, those are my exact thoughts when it comes to interpreting the song; I hope you'll be able to find it in yourself or someone to know that you're nowhere near deserving of being alone!

I think of these lyrics as someone - probably a young girl - being unalived by someone - a parent/guardian? - and being so lonely and forgotten about that no one knows her body is just rotting in that room and then eventually dumped in a sewer drain where no one will ever remember her.
One of the many kids forgotten in this world who never got a chance to live a happy and full life. Who barely got to live at all.

I found the original music when I was going to meet my friends for the last time and I wouldn’t see them again until maybe next year and when I found this one i had already left them and the lyrics remind me of how I would have to continue without seeing them everyday in my new school that I don’t even like and although we do stay in touch, it doesn’t feel like they are with me at all, instead it feels like I’m slowly getting less close to them and I don’t want to lose anymore friends but this song somehow makes it not as painful while reminding me of this
