As a child I had a friend who beat this game (both castles) in something like 10 hours and I was amazed. Finishing both castles and all bosses in 32:40 is mind shattering.
20:50 Actually, the blowing up bridge trick was performed by me 4 and a half years ago, but I thought it was an emulator glitch. A long time later I found that my player profile 2 was set up the same way as profile 1. Then when I pressed triangle, the bridge exploded. Recently it was said that someone discovered a debug code, ok, but I had already run it a lot before, as I explained. I even posted the video in 2018.

I remember when I played this game without guide. And don't know how, I trigger the rod with a shield which will summor two giant sword and move forward. And with the cast time , smoke and bat, I entered Maria room without the special armor.
This just sets it in stone that I'll never play through a 2d Castlevania game lol. I've loved Castlevania 64 2d Metroids but this is too much. One day :D

Richter isn't considered a boss by speedrunners, because when you check the game's activity log thing, clearing the fight means you "save" him instead of defeating him

Sotn is still one of my favourite ever games.
Speedruns of it are weirdly fascinating to watch due to the awesome movement!

Awesome run, but isn't Richter included in bosses? You have to beat what controls him after getting the glasses.
