    I can't remember the last time I saw a home walkthrough where I didn't think at least once or twice, I wouldn't do that, or that's a mistake. But you guys have totally nailed it. Again fantastic future planning knowing what helps resale value if that is a route you go and in the meantime totally fitting your likes and dislikes...you two are a great team it comes through so very clearly... keep at it you are doing great.

      BKK, thank you for the kind words! Can’t express how much that means. Many hours have been spent making decisions, trying to tie everything together so really appreciate it! We’ve been very fortunate to be able to do this together, we are learning tons 😁

    Congratulations 🎊 😊! Absolutely great layout.
    1️⃣. Did you consider having a bathroom for each bedroom? Keeps the (future) kids in harmony.
    2️⃣. Did you consider a half bath? Great having one for guests when having cookouts/parties.
    3️⃣. The 1st thing to install in the basement: a bathroom!!
    In my 60+ years I've learned bathrooms bring so much harmony to everyday living 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦.
    Keep up the good work and many blessings to your life and family!

    I honestly think a bedroom should be down stairs plus you guys already have the bathroom their. You can purpose it as a game room or his office for the time. Plus that will have the potential of six bedroom if you want in the resale

    The different terms are interesting!! In Australia we call 'drywall" "gyprock". We also call "pocket door" "sliding cavity door".

    Beautiful home! We're in the process of designing and building our own home and your taste matches what we'd like...mountain craftsman style with timber trusses in the gables, stone accents, board & batten and shakes. We found an amazing piece of property in eastern Tennessee a few years ago with my dream mountain view, so this style is perfect for our setting. Your floor plan is very similar to ours and I loved seeing your walk-through. I just discovered your channel and am enjoying your content. You have a new subscriber. Congratulations!
    I have one question. What is the pitch on your main roof with your entry and great room? It looks like a 10:12 or 12:12....so steep but beautiful!

    Always love to see the updates and progress. Looking forward to seeing the as the house is completed. Any total cost updates?

    • @FarisandLisa
      @FarisandLisa  11 місяців тому

      Thank you!! Working on the stone now, so that was $10k in just materials. Working on staining as well, probably one of the hardest decisions so far because we have so much wood in the house. We’re working with a log company for our t&g which will be a few thousand. After that we have tile, trying to keep that under $5/sf in the mud room and bathrooms.

    Seems like a ginormous project. Both cost wise and well as the build itself. How long or when do you expect to be able to move in?

    • @FarisandLisa
      @FarisandLisa  11 місяців тому +4

      It definitely is, the amount of time, brainpower, and capital is high. But at the same time we aspire to become full time builders in the future so it’s a big learning experience and something we can do together. Hoping to move in before our wedding in September, we’re pushing it 😅

      @@FarisandLisa September? That’s just around the corner. God luck😁 hope you get there. Definitely looking forward to see the buildings finished and you moving in😁. You must have saved up some serious cash and obviously still need some cash flow into your bank account. I do wonder what you guys do for a living though

    looks like you did 9ft ceilings with 8ft doors? Is that correct? Not sure if you mentioned that before.

    • @FarisandLisa
      @FarisandLisa  11 місяців тому

      Yes, that’s correct! We went back and forth between 6.8”or 8” doors and we’re happy we went with 8! We compared the door prices and they weren’t significantly different.

    You seem to be in the middle of nowhere, not in a neighborhood, and yet you still have an HOA? You should have bought land somewhere else. US has lost their damn minds with the HOA nonsense.
