The pool is an algae nightmare. There's a very good reason to use chlorine in a swimming pool. The algae bloom in the summer will be terrible. The smell will be horrible. The mosquitos it attracts will be unbearable. Who knows what animals will make it their watering hole.
@@RedondoBeach2 Its mid summer and the water is crystal clear mosquito free and all with no chemicals. Just a couple of days ago we watched a deer drink from the water when we had our morning breakfast. Chlorine is used in chemical warfare and should be avoided whenever possible if you respect and love our natural world
As an overall property I think this is the best one you’ve ever showcased regardless of price. It’s the only one I’ve seen where I immediately felt I would buy it if it was for sale. This one really feels like a home.
If anyone is interested in seeing the build process, this house was featured in season 21 on Grand Designs. One of the best houses ever on the show and they didn’t show much of the finished product on the episode, so this inside look is perfect, thanks for sharing!
This home is the most beautiful one I've seen in my entire life! I instantly fell in love with it because it is so inviting and close to nature. That is what people want today! I hope this architecture couple will design many more houses like this. 💚💚💚💚💚
This is hilarious, I'm literally building a house inspired by this video! they have an aerial view of the layout which makes building it so much more possible.
There are so many incredibly expensive properties to admire on UA-cam. But none have appealed to me as much as this fantastic property. The integration of the pools, the layout of the garden and the living spaces are fantastically well done. Let's hear it for the architects and congratulations to the proud and sympathetic owners.
Most modern and minimalistic designs seem cold but this is relaxing, welcoming, and it’s clean design allows you to focus on the outdoors. Everything adds to the beauty of the outdoors and indoors it seems serene. 👏 bravo!
This is the best home I’ve seen. So minimalist but very homely. Gorgeous relaxing colour pallets through out. The light features both natural and man made are beautiful. The natural pool, wow! Dream house. Great presentation of the house guys. I bet you didn’t want to leave!
That I call a lovely home. Thoughtfully designed with love for the family and nature. A great showcase for their architectural sense and capabilities. Good job
My wife and I often talk about this property as a dream home.. It is a dream home. The couple did an outstanding job! Blood, sweat and tears but so worth it.
I'm not sure how sustainable this house is based on the footprint for one family. But everything is relative of course! Absolutely gorgeous home though!!! Very luxurious 🩷. I love how the architecture speaks for itself. You don't need all sorts of decor inside the house. And obviously the outside is absolutely incredible. You can tell this guy is like a big kid with all of the inspiration he put in for his own children. Love it!!!
Absolutely amazing!! It truly feels like a home, you can see and feel how much love they have put into the project just by the way they talk about it. And the interior design is incredible. Everything about it just blends perfectly together. And also, you just know how amazing humans these two owners are. Love love love
Thanks to the comment section, I just watched Grand Design S22E05, where they shows the construction process. By that, it's not just the technical construction process, but the emotional joyride Dan & Nina faced during the process - the tight budget, the ailing parents, the pandemic and some other setbacks, while sticking strongly to the original plan. Here we are seeing the final project in a glamorous way, I'd say, with the lovely duo, but seeing the process made me respect and love the couple who built this against all odds even more. I'd say you go see that episode as well, especially if you're part of the architecture fraternity.
Well thank you kindly. Those words mean a lot.. If ever you’re around come and knock on the door and I’ll show you around. Thanks again for having our back x
@@DanielRowland-rn9fr I was about to add that if I ever go to Sussex, I'd visit them, but thought that'd be creepy 😅. Thank you very much for the kinda invitation. Wishing you and Nina all the best.
How am I watching this house through a laptop screen but still feeling the calming vibe that this home must bring. I would absolutely love even just one week in a home like that, let alone living there 😍. I thank God that these people can enjoy a home like this and pray that I can also enjoy one similar too.
My wife will say building a house is a love project, and though we have been blessed enough to have our own custom-built home and have seen a lot of videos of houses, this is arguably the most pleasantly beautiful house I have ever seen.
Congratulations for having such simple and beautiful house 🌹I’m interior designer and I just noticed that they know exactly what they want from this space , no exaggeration and they didn’t follow the trends , they just followed their heart ❤️ the landscape and the swimming pool are exceptional 😍
An incredible home, and what an amazing privilege to be able to bring your career and elements of your life's work into your home, huge respect to the owners! The only negative from me is the description of the 'playroom' - not sure how old the kids are but it looks like more of a 'zen' room for adults to unwind than somewhere for the kids to let loose! A splash of colour in here and a few bits of the kid's work on the wall would make a huge difference to the room ☺
The fact you guys showed the bloopers is so awesome! This channel has a. cool feel about it from the presenters to the editing, I love it! Just subscribed!!!!
I remember seeing the grand designs and now officially going to have try find a way to have a home where water is the main feature like this, can’t imagine how nice it would have been to grow up around such nature. Only thought is the interiors could feel warmer but that’s always subjective. Amazing especially in the UK
the crystal thing , floating house and most important natural swimming pool . omggg amazing beauty manifesting some of the things from this house tour . loved itttt.... 😍
what a stunning home, every element of it is so interesting , I'm truly fascinated. To be able to live in such a serene setting in England is really remarkable, well done to both of them, they did such an incredible job creating this home
This is breath taking. I literally gasped. An architect and an interior designer, you can really tell. This just shows, when watching these huge celebrity homes, that you cannot buy taste. I bet they always feel relaxed being there, surrounded by beauty and warmth.
Yes but these pretentious people do not care that the world is ruined for their pleasure unfortunately, they don't care that third world workers (sub humans) have to slave away for them to live this lifestyle.
Thank you for the video! It is such amazing tour. I love the ending when the owner talked about the downside of the pool in winter. I hope you could include both the beautiful and the challenging parts of the house. It would make the house more like a home and at the same time giving the audience some useful knowledge.
I’m in love with the concepts put into place with this property! I’d love to incorporate some of them into my own build. Thank you for sharing! Love the energy you two bring! 💖
Absolutely delightful! I love wood burning hot tubs! Love the little touches that make it playful and those steps that force you to slow down. Absolute dream home! 😍🥰
Wow amazing! ...and somehow so much more appealing than most of these over the top luxury homes... I love all the natural touches, the attention to detail and refined elegance which never becomes overbearing. Only thing I might have done differently is to use the second living room as a billiards room but that's a really minor thing.
There was a lot of information left out about the "natural swimming pool". How is algae controlled? Where does the water supply come from? And about 5 other questions that would have to be answered.
Watch the Grand Designs episode - second to last episode on the last season. It shows how it is built, including the filtration system at the base all around the swimming area.
Hands down the best house you've ever shown imo. I guess that's just because it has the same ethos and aesthetic appeal as I lust after in a home. Just fabulous. Nice one guys.
I love how much love and affection they have for this home. They've built and designed a space specifically for and _with_ their family in mind. My dream is for my husband and I to be able to build and design a home for us and our children. I would want our girls to have a "Jack and Jill" style bathroom, and a separate half-bath for guests to use. (A HUGE pet peeve of mine growing up was how my brother and I were forced to share the hall bathroom with guests. It always left me feeling icky knowing that potential guests were looking through the cabinets and items, spreading their germs and whatever bacteria they carried.) I'd want a little greenhouse setup attached to the back end of the home, and the home itself would be a sort of fusion between Scandinavian and Japanese style homes.
This home is beautiful. The interior is a bit more modern than I typically lean towards, but I can appreciate the style and absolutely love some of the features. The natural pool is stunning. I dont know if I could go in it if there are little creatures that might rub up against my legs, lol. I guess I would have to get used to it because it would be worth it to avoid all the harsh chemicals.
What an interesting house! The pool/pond/lagoon is like nothing else I've ever seen. I wonder what kind of filtration system it has and what the water source is because how can a swimming pool and lillies co-exist? The barn look blends well with the modern interior.
If I recall from the grand designs, there was an existing natural water source at the bottom of the garden that was protected (or something along those lines) so they made a feature of it and the filtration is mostly the choice of water plants etc.
I went down a rabbit hole on this a couple years ago because I wanted to build one. There's a guy named David Pagan on UA-cam who created the concept. The plants filter the water and oxygenate it. They remove the nutrients that algea would feed on. And you have a very basic water circulation system that keeps water flowing. It's a really cool idea and apparently is cheaper than installing a real pool.
What an absolutely gorgeous house, one of the best!! i saw it when featured on Grand designs but your tour has showcased the property brilliantly well done 👋👌
