Brilliant! Definitely more interesting than a stocked trout pond. Also, I think a tenkara rod would work well, I fish a small stream in Wales and find tenkara perfect.

Great video guys! I discoved something very similar on my doorstep! It was always polluted years ago with no life whatsoever. A couple of years ago I spotted herons and kingfishers regularly on this tiny stream. I decided to try fishing it. So far my bigest fish was a 2.5lb perch!. Nobody goes there! It's a jungle but such an exciting place! I know nothing regarding fly fishing, is it legal to use flies/lures during coarse closed season as I'd love to try them.
Its hardly flyfishing is it? If you just going out pinging weighted flies, with no casting or flyline, you may aswell take a whip rod. Stop valling it Flyfishing when its not
It's fishing! And not run of the mill but who cares you get to use the flys you tied or bought and caught fish in a different situation and maybe different species! Life's short enjoy it

If it has a decent population of trout then fish away. I'd suggest heading out one evening and having a look for rising fish.
