Beautiful to see Dave! I've known Dave for many years and seen him make many a fly on the most random activies other than fly-fishing. Very knowledgable man and a dope guy!! I'm surprised he's not got his own channel.
Very interesting video. I'm increasingly interested in fly fishing for coarse fish and recently bought a 10ft aftm 2 for for this purpose. Downstream was something I'd not considered, but seeing your method and results makes me want to try this.
Another cracking vid ! interesting method, urban rivers in my parish tend to have a lot of underwater snags so it would need a bit of adaptation but worth a go ! what make is the sling pack by the way ? Cheers
Dave was using sz16 for the most part. One had a small section of squirmy material, which I use with grey dubbing, couple of turns of soft hackle at the collar behind bead.
I love this. Out there doing it rather than sitting at home googling different rods and lines. Inspiring stuff!
Having read Skateboard Dave's many interesting posts and articles on coarse fishing with a fly over the years, this was a treat and a half.
Expect a couple more from Dave this year!

By the end of next week I'll have another vid of Dave uploaded.
If you think this is beautiful using a feeder rod to flyfish in some shitty little river for small coarse fish, you need to get out more!
Brilliant. Very well produced and huge thanks to Skateboard Dave for a very informative display.
Thank you again for some valuable information. Always learning something new 😊
Dave is a real innovator and it's always a pleasure to film him.

It's not Fly-fishing! He's not even using a fly rod you tit
Eye opening video well done! Dee seems incredibly knowledgeable
He certainly is. As a mentor he’s taught me more in this last year than I’ve learned in my entire 15 year fishing career
Brilliant video. Looking forward to more!
Superb content as usual - thanks for creating this.
You deserve more subscribers! Keep going Tim! 🙌🙌
Great video! All the best from Russia 🖐️

Brilliant as always, keep them coming .
Awesome as usual mate.
Thanks for the advice.. was this around Esher somewhere 😀
It was filmed on a small river in Leicestershire.

The longest cast I've made was with at 12 ft match rod and 8 weight line, 75ft no problem
Great work Tim … one a week now pls 👍😁
Why not using a strike indicator?
Are there any specific flies that you would recommend, or does any nymphing pattern work?

Hardly fly-fishing is it?
Music is a distraction from a good video
Coarse rod? Split shot? This isnt flyfishing ffks!
Well he was using a fly
@@robertcourt8593 So that's your stupid logic? Go stick a nymph on your grayling trotting set up and you Fly-fishing......clown
Not fly fishing ..for me is not fly fishing 😳😏
