  • An age-old debate with regards to off-road vehicles… “What size tire should I run?” We address this head on for the new Ford Bronco by comparing the pros and cons of running a 35” tire versus a 37” tire. When we took delivery of our 2021 Ford Bronco Badlands, it came equipped from the factory with the Sasquatch Package, which included a set of 315/70R17 tires. We quickly swapped the factory tires for a set of 35” Nitto Trail Grapplers - which run a bit truer to size. Fast forward a few months and we rebuilt our Bronco for SEMA, which included a 2” suspension system from Bilstein Shock Absorbers and a bigger set of tires - this time, 37” Nitto Ridge Grapplers.
After running both the 35s and 37s, we ultimately decided to replace our 37” Ridge Grapplers with our set of 35” Trail Grapplers. We found that bigger isn’t always better, and that there are many factors to consider when deciding the right size tire for your Ford Bronco build, such as intended use of your vehicle and all-around performance of your vehicle.

Tune in as we discuss why we went down from a 37” tire to a 35” tire. We dive into a comparison of the Nitto Trail Grappler and Ridge Grappler, the difference in size and weight, fitment requirements for each tire size, and ultimately the costs associated with running each. Watch this video before you decide to mount 37” tires on your new Ford Bronco!

Awesome. I've researched this. I have SAS 35s and do moderate offroading. Putting on 37s opens up a lot of issues I'm unwilling to pay for and deal with since I'm not a mechanic. Sticking w my 35s, its awesome as is. I love how its stock. If you do 37s get the BFG KO2 Range C and keep the tires light! If you do hard trails get a jeep and skip the IFS issues.

Im running 37x13.50r17 toyos with 3in lift no lockers and no sway bars. I supported the 37s with broncbuster stage 2 steering upgrades and bilstein 6112s. I have 3.73 gearing with the JB4 plus the ford scan averaging 16-14 mpg. I realized a lot of people prefer the nimble ride of the bronco on 35s. For me being in socal i perfer the comfort and capability of the bronco on 37s its not a buggy or BMW but to each and their own.

Very nice, white wheels and trim is underrated! I’d never buy a newer ford, but it sure do look great!

Interesting. I am running on Cooper Discoverer STT Pros 37's but I also have a Fabtech 4" on Coli over's with the 2.5 res. I have the 4.46 gears though, but I bought the BL non-SAS knowing I would do aftermarket suspension. I do not have any of yet with my 37's though I would probably get better MPG's on 35's. I have added power though with tunes, exhaust and CAI., also charge pipes.

Great video as always, Colin. Love the graphics on your wife's rig. I gotta keep up with my dad's Jeeps so we just put on 37s on the PT Bronco. With the longer wheelbase of a 4dr, the extra tire helps with geometry and ground clearance but for milder trails, 35s would be the way to go.

One final comment.... each tire size has its advantages and disadvantages. Only you can determine which tire size is best for how you off road. 37's will cost more to make your Bronco fit them, or to deal with other issues. Possible regearing.
But only you can decide what your willing to sacrifice.

Did you have to replace your rear track bar when you put on the 35’s? I’m thinking about replacing my 32’s on my Black Diamond Bronco with 35’s but not sure if I need to replace the rear track bar also. Thank you.

I'm surprised you didn't go with the ProCal tune from Ford Performance to help with the additional weight

Could have saved a ton of money keeping the BadSquatch stock. It will do everything a modified Rubicon will do and more.

I’m daily driving my vehicle, too, so I wanted to be realistic with my choices in options… I ticked almost every box I could for my 4-Dr Badlands Sasquatch… 2.7l… Hardtop… Lux… leather… tow… even engine block heater! I originally wanted both tops, but stuck with the hardtop. Ordered the winch, but dealer forgot to include it when it finally shipped.
I have no plans to go above 35” tires, but may consider shocks/springs to compensate for any decrease in ride height from adding things like a winch or rear cargo. Most of the trails I do get to hit are moderate, at best.

Or just not have super aggressive offset. It has nothing to do with 35 vs 37 when you're sticking out substantially more

I had 37s on my JKU and really loved that size. However, all the consequences of running a 37 on the Bronco may keep me on my factory Sasquatch 35s with the 4.7 gears

Any size over 35 is over sized.... big tires hog out the trails and make wheeling easier........ is that what we really want? No. Save the trail and your wallet and learn how to wheel.... with small tires. If you can just drive over everything is that really fun? No it's not.

    • @texasgrillchef8581
      @texasgrillchef8581 3 місяці тому

All a matter of opinion… bigger tires will always allow you to wheel over bigger things. By your reasonings… then let’s all wheel with 30” tires then…. Or why not 20” or 15” come on… get real. Use the tire size based on the kind of wheeling you want to do. Are you over landing? Rock crawling? Mall crawler?
