Easy Wonton Soup Ingredients
(serves 2 as a meal / 4 to 6 as a appetizer)
For the Soup
2 1/2 cup chicken stock
2 1/2 cup water
1 tsp. soy sauce
3 garlic cloves, smashed
3 to 4 1/8-inch thin fresh ginger root slices (approximately 1 oz.)
2 green onions, cut in halves
salt and pepper to taste
For the Filling
4 oz. ground pork
1 tsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. Shaoxing wine (Chinese cooking wine, you can substitute with dry sherry)
1 tsp. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. sesame oil
1/4 tsp. ground fresh ginger root
1 small garlic clove
small pinch of black or white pepper
20 square wonton wrappers
For the Garnish
chopped green onion

It stays down due to the ginger. If you don't want to go to the trouble of making the soup just add some ginger to regular chicken soup

Nice thing about this, is if you want to you can make a larger pot of broth, and up to 50 Won Tons and freeze. Don't freeze together. Place the uncooked Won Tons in a container lined with Baking or Freezer Paper, put down a layer, cover with freezer wrapper put down another layer etc, seal and freeze, they freeze for a long time. Put your broth in sealed containers and freeze - take out defrost the broth (not the Won Tons) and bring to boil and then slip Won Tons into broth :)

I've made this soup twice now because my husband and I live so much. I used Swiss chard from my garden to put in stock. thank-you so much
OH MY GOD!!! I DID IT.!!! It's delicious!! it's so easy to make. I always buy the soup from a restaurants and they only gave me like 3 or 4 wonton per serving. Now I know how to make it, I don't need to buy it anymore and I can get as much as I want. It's also cheaper when we made it by ourself. Thank you!! You're amazing!!! Keep making delicious food with simple ingerdient.

I made this tonight and it was a huge hit with my family. I was not in the mood to cook, but once I saw this recipe I was inspired because of how easy and quick it looked. I LOVED your video! When I was little my dad used to bring us to a local Cantonese restaurant owned by a brand new immigrant family in Mexico. Among other things, we always asked for the "ravioli" soup, LOL. It was my super mega favorite meal. I looked forward to the weekend every day for our dad to take us to eat at this restaurant. It wasn't until I immigrated to Canada that I learned that I had not been eating ravioli soup all those years, but wonton soup! This soup brings me so many dear memories of my childhood. I finally know now how to make it at home. Thank you for sharing.

This has been my go to soup recipe. Made it again 2 weeks ago but ended up with some leftover wrapped wontons. Since the pot wasn't big enough to cook all of them, I decided to freeze the remainder. I got really sick yesterday & was craving for some. The frozen wontons came through. Soup tasted just as amazing as the day the were wrapped. Best part is the time saver. Never know when you will be sick so make them in advance is always a good idea.
