How-To: Make Wonton Soup with Lisa Lov

- Lisa Lov is the chef behind Copenhagen’s exciting new Chinese-inspired restaurant Tiger Mom, which is due to open in 2017. In this video, Lisa is back at restaurant Relæ, where she used to work, for a wonton masterclass.
She shows us how to make the wonton dumplings that her mom taught her as a kid, and she invites some friends into the kitchen to they can race to see who is the fastest dumpling folder. Their reward? Unctuous chicken broth full of wontons, crispy garlic, chili oil and zingy herbs.

I recommend adding diced, raw shrimp to your dumplings.
james burke no mean to be rude at all but i wouldn't, My grandmother never put prawn/shrimp into her wontons and neither does Her mother, it seems to taste nicer without the prawn i'd say.
You are not rude. I guess all versions can be delicious with or without shrimp. Many Chinese dumplings are pork-only. Family traditions are hard to mess with. Been eating Won Ton soup for 30+ years and grew up with the pork / shrimp dumpling variety. I did try it with pork and the flavor while good was not as delicious as with adding the shrimp. Maybe my pork quality was not good enough. Open to trying pork only again.

Not entirely sure if I'm right but there is another type of dumpling which contains shrimp and pork and it's called sui gao. If I can recall, they are similar but sui gao has a more elongated shape and the wanton is generally rounder. I love both but sometimes the shrimp gives the extra flavour and complements the taste of the marinated pork wonderfully.

That is really thick broth for a wonton soup. You sure this broth is for wonton soup? It kinda overpowers the wonton completely.
