After seeing a lot of ways to replace the map lights in newer Dodge Chargers, and how they all revolved around modifying a pair of pliers, I decided to make a video on the easier and correct way to do it.
Started by using the Diode Dynamics approach in my 2015 Charger.....what a pain. Changed strategy and used your approach.......easy, peasy! Thank you for being a pioneer!

Thanks for this video. Saved me loads of time messing around in dim light trying to change out the bulbs. The difference from that horrible yellow (like someone's been smoking 20 a day in your car) to clear white LED is remarkable. Think I'll use a red led for the glove box.
Was it on Ebay for about $28? I got those. They came loose in a packet, but they all seem fine. Also have a few spare and not sure where they're supposed to go!

IDK. i just took the clear light covers off. took me 2 mins to install both sides. lol.

same lol, actually broke a bulb by trying to wrap the tape around it and pull. this is much easier!

What about the other ones? Do you have to go to the dealer to get them replaced
I have a 2012 Chrysler 300 overhead console with similar setup except I have four lights, two overhead and two map. I changed the two overhead interior lights by popping out the entire unit. My question is how in the world do you change the map light bulb to the led?

Hey, there are 4 bulbs total there. How did you replace/cut off the other two? The other two that IMHO are irreplaceable. You don't show that in the video, but you suppose to have two red and two yellow bulbs to come on when you open the door. Unless my 2016 Charger is different than yours ;-)
No, sir. I'm talking about 4 bulbs in the map light thing that you have removed. All 4 are there. All 4 are lit when you open the door. Two are already LED's, but they are yellow, just like the other two you've replaced. Where or how I could show you the pic? P.S. The bulbs underneath the doors are super easy to replace, just like the glove compartment or the trunk, as well as the lights above the rear doors (interior).
Thanks! I hate yellow bulbs, so every house, every car I've ever owned I would replace yellows with bright white LED's. Charger is no exeption, but map lights now look weird with 2 yellows and 2 whites when the door is opened...hope you can help :-)

Thanks for looking. It's only 4 bulbs in the unit that you've removed, so it gotta be it.I'm mad at Dodge we can't replace those yellow ones with nice bright whites easily...hopefully you can figure that out eventually. Thanks again
begalviux yeah there are 4 light in the map lights..the other 2 that doesn't show on the video are the reading lights. I'm having the same problem I got to replace 2 main light with LED but my other 2 are currently still yellow smh but great installation video it help me with my charger!

I have a 2016 Dodge Charger Rallye and on all the interior lenses there some kind of sticky spray film it's like they were trying to make the interior lights dull? It's really weird and kind of gross looking. I never got a chance to ask the dealer because they went out of business

This seems way more complicated than what I did. I just popped open the front end of the light cover (super easy), no need to take the whole thing off. Just use a pair of small pliers, grab the bulb and leverage against the light can and the bulb easily pops out. Then just take the new one and guide it in and push up with your thumb. Did both lights in less than 2 minutes.

LMAO what channels were you watching that suggested that rickety shit rubbery tweaker plyers??? No one ever looks at a service manual anymore, even though most are available online and can give you simple best practices for processes like this one in under a minute :))
you dont even have ap lights, map lights are tiny led lights connected to module. has a seprate switch that push in plastic cover..easist wasy is put . a tiny piece of black tape to cover it. and chage the other 2 bulbs...2012 charger have 4 bulbs in there.. i think yours is SE not RT ot sxt plus

Any idea on how to replace the two floorboard lights with LED bulbs? My kit from Amazon didn't include those two.
This floorboard LED's are board mounted LED's. To replace them you would either have to desolder them and find an LED that you can somehow manage to solder it back on. Or you will have to cut the wires and wire in another board and modify the foot board cover. I haven't attempted it...
I give up. My damn pry tool is all bent these metal clips just aren’t giving out lol. The plastic clear ones are also really hard to take out but whatever I guess
