- I finally got around to changing the lighting on the interior to my Diode Dynamics 6000K led setup .. I had these bulbs from my last car and absolutely loved them so this was a no brainer .. this video just shows how a few of the bulbs go in, what they look like and also goes over an issue I had with a small change my car had for 2017 that I wasn't expecting but I found my own version of a solution to lol upgraded interior lighting, in my opinion, is a must !! hope you enjoy the video !!

Great vid. I have a 2016 Chrysler 300. I changed my interior lights to LED's a week ago. The map lights I couldn't change. Didn't know I could disconnect the map lights. Will be doing that in the coming days. Your vid is the only vid I came across in solving that ugly map light. Thanks bro.

This was great, particularly knowing which size tools to use. Thank you! For doing the back seat lights (19:13) I recommend prying off the two larger, "rear" tabs first, and then the piece will slide right out of the front tabs. The rear ones are larger, much easier to undo, and there's much less risk of breaking one of the smaller front ones when trying to pry them off...they are pretty thin (I broke one).

So, I bought a new 17 Charger R/T last week and it had all those ugly yellow bulbs. I hate them too! I've only ever owned Chevy, so I had no idea where to start on this car. Thank you for posting this video! I've ordered some bulbs, and I'm excited to see how they look in mine!
Great video! Best part @ 11:44ish, If you love your woman more than you love your car, don't do this mod. (in regard to vanity lights) funny stuff right there. What I found works best is to rotate the bulbs inwards (almost to point that the panels are facing 180* out) so that the LED panels aren't directly in her face. You still get the led look and she'll be able to use the vanity without bitching about it being too bright. LEDS create little to no heat so no worries about melting anything on the lamp assy.

You've got it easy. I have to remove the headliner to get to the lights above the driver and passenger seat, and it's one of those circuit bulbs. Apparently you have to retrofit them from a Viper. Looks like I'm just going to leave them. Great detailed video!

Idk if you do any custom wiring but what I usually do for the foot-wells is put red LEDs that turn on with the parking lights / nighttime interior lights (usually works with the dimmer too). The red color isn't intrusive while driving and is quite helpful if you drop something at night. In most vehicles it provides a nice accent.

my 2011 RT had those yellow map lights as well lol... also the last lights in the back on mine weren't that difficult.. I just popped the plastic part off like you did on all the other ones

When changing the overhead lights I recommend pulling the entire console off, ig you attempt to change the lights by removing the covers you will likely bend the reflector plates, and render the push to activate inoperable.

@@inigobelloso4645... I remember I broke something in the unit the 1st time. I forgot what wasn't working. So I ordered another on ebay. I wish I remembered what I broke the 1st time. But after that, I had no problem disconnecting and connecting over and over again.
In the old days our lights were yellowish, AND WE LIKED IT!!

You know if led interior lights or led headlights will cause light flickering inside the car? I started noticing lights flickering when I start my charger but didn’t notice it before so I don’t know if it’s because of the led headlights/map lights

Getting ready to order my full LED replacement kit for 300s. Did you ever figure out the solution to changing the map lights?
Tip I found. Use a silicone bracelet to grab those halogen bulbs. Super easy on coming out.

I wish you would have popped out the board to show the led on the circuit board, I think morimoto makes a gauge cluster led that would fit in there but Im not sure

I actually found a way around the map lights with out disconnecting them, I purchase some gel sleeves from pep boys, and cut the to fit the light, only thing is mine r blue so it won’t wrk for you.

Have you found a solution to the other bulbs in the Map Lights yet? I just ran into the same issue on my 300S and I'm looking for a way to get all of the bulbs changed even the small center LED.
I also ran into that issue on my 2020 charger cant seem to find any info on it... went by he dealership parts department and that whole peice $705 plus tax
@@Civilus I ended up tearing mine apart and painting the plastic caps that cover the map lights with blue paint. It solved the Yellow Map light color every time I opened the door. Also you can turn them on at night for a subtle blue light since the LED will blind you at night.

I have those extra bulbs on the top lights too, it's not new though, i own a 2014 charger SXT Rallye
This bothered me big time. My 2012 200 S came with the led lights. 2015 Scat Pack comes with the "old" yellow look. Thanks for posting this.
I came from a 2011 200 S to a 2017 Scat Pack Charger. :) I'm having the same issue, how can a cheaper car have leds but this more expensive car doesn't haha.

Ok thanks my srt has the karmon in it I thought since there was no sub that it wasn't I've seen the subs in the back of the srt jeep and some of the hellcat challenger's

Halgoen interior bulbs is a needless cost-cutting IMO. It would only cost dodge a few bucks to use LED's. Even if they only put them in the SP/SRT/HC, they should be standard in those models.

I encountered the same problem on the vanity lights...the rear bulb can't be changed but I couldn't stand the two different color lights, bright white and the factory yellow. I had to just cover the back bulbs with black electric tape and run just the front lights
I meant the map/dome lights with the rear circuit breaker bulb, not vanity. Dodge just makes everything harder to modify or upgrade, plug n play is not in their vocabulary

Any news on how to change those map lights? My 2016 Charger Rallye came with the same thing and I've been dealing with it for almost a year. I ended up just covering them with black tape.

I called diode and they don't know what part number it is for the lights under the door and the passenger courtesy lights by the handle number are.

for the rear, you dont have to remove the whole handle. just take a flat head and pop off the clear covers.

Rey Latham actually didn't even know there were leds there to be honest lol I'll have to take a look at it this weekend :O if it's anything like the damn foot area and map light situation then I'll really need to find an electronics guy to do some next level customizing :O

I saw SRTMUSH put one in his hellcat charger, but he didn't give any real information on where he found it, how he really installed it, etc. I don't know if dodge dealerships sell them as an oem part but I don't know. You can find the info, because I called the dodge dealership, and they wanted my vin #, but I don't own a mopar. Thanks

I am surprised that the scat pack didnt have those dumb map lights my 2016 RT road and track has those dam map lights too when I was changing the lights I had to leave those in I was really pissed off i couldn't change them!

Bianca Montez I've reached out to a few people but the effort and cost doesn't make much sense to me since I basically just disabled those two leds and have no yellow lights anymore lol the two bulbs that I could change are so bright you need no other bulbs basically lol

billy Thompson nope. from what my salesman told me, they're built into the rear deck lid and I do notice that it's a little beefier than my scat so I believe that's where it is
Hey quick question regarding the overhead dome lights do you know how to make them not turn on when you open the door I feel like I've tried everything. I have a 2016 charger scat pack and its the only car I've ever owned that didn't have a simple switch to turn off the dome lights.
FICTION2333 on the dash to the left of the steering wheel near the trunk release button are some controls. I believe you can disable the lights inside all together by sliding the wheel down completely and they shouldn't come on

When I got my 2017 SRT and looked at DD I knew there was map lights that weren't listed in all the 2016 mods.... Now we know why.....

Nice car I got the same car and color on order I just the blk wheels and the carbon stripes great minds think a lot we will keep in touch on what we do to are twins I have a white srt charger 392 that I'm trading in for the hellcat I just got my vin number so I'm thinking 3 more weeks and I have weather tech mats for mines and the karmon hardon system as well keep up the good work

On their website if you enter the vehicle information itll give you a complete bulb list for the car :) I agree though the yellow is disgusting lol

Those lights that you couldn't figure out are your map lights. They only turn on when you press them. I'd just leave them in. It's too much to change them.
