That’s a beautiful new clutch. Hopefully it serves Lonnie well for years to come

My indy 500 had that much play in the primary when we got it...she ripped good with the new one.

I have done many Polaris clutches with bogging issues and it all the same stuff, mostly rollers and weight pins and bushings. It's surprising how bad the sheave and cover bushings can be and the clutch still works well but if you don't change them the rest of the parts will wear out quicker.

I’m trying to decide on primary clutching, I have a gold spring, bone stock 97 evolved XLT limited.. thinking of a hotter setup maybe blue spring and m10 weight combo?

I like the blue spring and 50 gram weights. My XLT and Lonnie's both run this.

Im sure most xlts with the "bog" is clutch related. My girlfriends 95 had it. Found a broken primary spring, rollers were flat sided, and weight bushings were egged out, and the outer sheave had a crack in it near the center.. could have been disastrous.. Brand new clutch and it screams like hell. 👍

For the sake of the beer fund, I sure hope you guys are buyin these sleds real cheap at the pre covid price levels !
The amount of knuckle bustin and the price of all the new parts has gotta be amazing if you add it up .
Did somebody win the lottery ?

Been trying to figgure out my '94 for aehile now, bogs at 40 mph, wont go faster, then cuts out and dies. Wend through the carbs, and cleaned and sync'd. Found a bad clutch, found a good one, inspected and cleaned. Still does it. Would it matter if it has individual filters and no air box on the carbs? What am i missing.

@@nuttersspeedshop replaced the broken pickup in the tank already, all new fuel lines, could be the shut off, I can bypass the current one and try.

It’s party time in the shop! Where do you get the new clutches from btw? Do you ever rebuild clutches? I know the rebuild clutches are pricey as well, but gotta be cheaper than a whole new clutch 🤷🏻‍♂️
At least the XLT is out ripping it up again! It’s definitely time for a Nutter’s Speed shop XLT shootout!! Cheers guys!!!

I get the clutches wherever. Ebay. Wahl Brothers, swap meets, even Polaris. New clutches aren't cheap but I'm not into rebuilding them.

So was that a Factory stock clutch or a after market ? Could you in the future tell a little more abut what and where the parts come from ? I am going to rebuild a 97 RMK this summer and there is no NONE ZIP NADA SNOWMOBILE shit for 100 miles of where I live ! One other question I have a Polaris RANGER 2007 XP with a BLOWN PDM it has been sitting in the POLARIS shop since LABOR DAY !!! If you know of or anyone else on here has a PDM FOR IT even if it is burnt As long as the pins are all there I would buy it and get MODUAL MASTERS to rebuild it mine melted the pins they cant fix it!!!!

Its a factory p85 of some sort. I cam find the number later, bit its kind of irrelevant because they must have made 100 different part numbers for 30mm p85s. As long as its a 30mm taper and taks a 3/4-16 puller ill buy it. I dont know anything about sxs.
